While driving experienced stability control alarm and steering failure warning. Lost power assisted steering. There are hundreds of similar complaints on car web sites. 3 Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2019

Experienced a failure of the steering system (power assist stopped working) first on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at approximately 35 mph speed; and subsequently on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at approximately 65 mph; then, on Monday September 30, 2019 and Tuesday October 1, 2019. The vehicle is currently with dealer where it was purchased. Two warning lights appeared each time the steering failure occurred. Also, two messages display in the digital display within the "dashboard": 1. Service power steering (drive with care) 2. Service stabilitrak vehicle steering immediately compromised, very difficult to steer with dangerous change in effort required to steer, loss of control due to steering change. In each case, slowed speed to adjust to changed steering condition. Upon researching this defect, see many references and documentation to exact same conditions and defect described here. Manufacturer (Chevrolet/gm) has acknowledged equipment defect - with recall, but not yet for VIN of my vehicle - appealing this here/now due to multiple reports of defect to same year, type vehicles not recognized by Chevrolet/gm yet with appeal for confirmation to recall this and similar vehicles (2015 Chevrolet Colorado).

4 Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2019

On wed. Sep 18th, 2019 I was driving through a parking lot at slow speeds as I was parking the steering failed. An indicator light was displayed on the dashboard indicating a steering failure and problems with the stabiltrack. It was very difficult to steer and pulled into a parking spot. I restarted my vehicle and the steering was functional again. I continued home travelling on highway at 100 km/h when the same sequence of events occurred. At high speeds it was easier to steer and I pulled to the shoulder of the road. I restarted my vehicle and returned home, and the next day I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership. It remains at the dealership, and I have been told the steering has to be repaired at a cost of $2100. This is a significant safety issue. If my wife or daughter had been driving the vehicle they would not have been able to muscle the steering wheel.
