The auto sensor for the head lights/dash lights doesn't seem sensitive enough as on cloudy days it stays in night time mode and I cant see my dash.

Wires in the harness which pass from cab to left rear door break. The break disables the seat belt lock up mechanism. A broken wire causes the air bag readiness light to illuminate. The door open and close switch is inoperable. The left rear stereo speaker does not work.

The low beam headlamps are totally inadequate. What follows is the contents from two emails sent to the dealership service manager. I also have night time video that illustrates the problem which also shows the location of the vehicle by gps on google maps. Comments in the email refer to both stationary and moving vehicle observations. I would like to find out if this another stupid government mandate that puts people at risk.
Sept of 2014 our Chevrolet Colorado had issues with not starting. The dealer diagnosed it as "code issues" and replaced a safety sensor. The issue was never resolved as check engine light stayed on. Oct of 2015 while driving, the airbag light came on and never went off. Also oct 2015, about the time the airbag light came on, we received a letter stating that a wire harness in this make, model and year of vehicle could cause code problems and or the airbag light to illuminate, and that gm would fix it at no cost to us, if the vehicle was within 10 yrs old or had 120,000 or less miles. Last year when this started our vehicle was 9 yrs old, yet gm will not pay for it saying it's not a safety hazard. I completely disagree as the light stays on all the time, how am I suppose to know if it's really not airbag failure as opposed to the faulty wire and harness? this letter was dated oct 2015 yet gm is saying the offer on this expired oct 29 2014 yet we didn't receive a letter until 2015.

The 2015 Colorado has an electrical/lighting problem. While the lighting is not a big issue, the fact that it may indicate a more serious electrical problem is. When entering the truck, the cargo light comes on, as it is supposed to, but when exiting the truck, the reverse lights come on instead of the cargo light. I noticed this with our fleet vehicle, and have since heard from many owners who have the same problem.

While driving home from work in the dark, both of my low beam headlamps quit working. I have been having issues with the headlamps and brake lamps going out intermittently and often. I replace them and they continue to go out. I believe there are electrical issues with my vehicle and I have read complaints on the 2006 chevy Colorado with some of the same issues. I have contacted Chevrolet via e-mail to see if they can assist or if they have a resolution. This is a dangerous situation that could end in disaster.
There is an issue with the driver side headlamp, where it will not work under normal driving conditions. I replaced the headlamps to have the same result. Also replaced the fuse for the lt headlamp with same result. The left headlamp will work in high beam mode but not in normal driving conditions. I tried manually switching on, same result.

Dashboard lights randomly go off or flicker. The a/c and heater/defroster blower stops working randomly or for an entire day at a time only to work the next day and then quit again. The a/c heating fan blower does not work on speeds 1,2, or 3, only on speed 4. I have had the wiring harness replaced numerous times only to have the problem continue again. The mechanics never can seem to find the problem until we get to the harness where there is always a burned wire. They replace it and just like this last replacement, within the week the problems returned.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. While driving approximately 45 mph with the high beams on, the contact noticed the low beams were not on at the same time which reduced visibility. The contact then realized that both the high beams and low beams did not operate at the same time. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told the vehicle was operating as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 44,000. Updated 03/24/lj.
All brake lamps failed to illuminate. Recall # 06v139000, gm replaced brake lamp switch assembly. Failed after recall repair completed.
Have a 2007 Colorado and noticed when replacing a burnt bulb that my taillights would not come on everytime I pressed the brake petal. Searched online, found the recall, called my local chevy dealer. They told me to bring it in and they would fix it. Dropped my truck off, they called me 2 hours later, informing me the work was done, but was not covered under any recall and owed them 70+ dollars. I brought a copy of the recall in and still was informed that no search recall had been issued. Anyone taking their vehicle in for this issue needs to know that GMC is not fixing for free of charge.

The dashboard lights will stop working if your driving at night and turn the car off and then turn it back on. They will not work until the car sits for a long period of time. This started soon after buying the car brand new, but the dealership couldn't find anything wrong. Second complaint, the heater/air conditioner fan had an electrical fire at where the harness plugs into the fan motor. The fan will only work on high. When I looked online at other complaints about the same problem, I unplugged the fan and noticed the plug was burnt. I have photos that I can send. It appeared the electrical fire continued down the plastic plug to where the wires are exposed. This could have been a major incident if I didn't notice it. There are a lot of complaints about this with Colorado trucks online. Also when driving at night, my dash lights and instrument lights flicker as if there is another electrical short somewhere in the wiring harness.
On several occasions the right headlamp has blown out. We have four 2007 Colorados in our fleet and all have the same problem. These vehicles only have approximately 20,000 to 30,000 miles on them and the headlamps have been replaced four to five times in each vehicle.
Currently I own a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado crew cab 4wd purchased in October 2004. The Colorado was a new body style for Chevrolet in 2005 and replaced the chevy s-10 pick-up. Approximately 1 year ago, I began noticing condensation inside my front headlamp assemblies. Moss began accumulating and the moisture inside has began to affect the projection capability of my headlamps. The headlamp assemblies are constructed of all plastic parts. It is unfortunate, to say the least, that I will have to spend several hundred dollars to replace my headlamp system after the truck is only 4 years old. For individuals who do not pay attention to this, it may become a safety hazard. My vehicle has never been wrecked from the front and has all original manufactures equipment. The seals are failing on my headlamps system.
