Lose Power Steering Problems of Chevrolet Colorado - part 2

My 2016 chevy Colorado has lost its power steering at over 70 miles per hour (aka freeway speeds) 4 times and the power steering warning lights have came on. This results in the truck being very difficult to control at high speed. If the engine is turned off and subsequently restarted, the power steeling assist returns to full functioning. Chevrolet has recall #15595 for this problem on 2015 Chevrolet Colorado built months before mine but refuses to repair the 2016 model with same problem. This is a true safety issue and Chevrolet should stand behind their product. The repair estimate they gave me at the Chevrolet dealership was over $2,100.

Driving vehicle on road and warming for stability track comes on then warning for power steering comes on and I lose all power steering. It has happened five times in the past three weeks.

Driving at 65 mph on highway and lost power steering with no warning. As soon as the warning light was on; the power steering was gone. I managed to ease off onto an exit; however, this is extremely dangerous. Although many Colorados are being recalled for this issue, my Colorado is not recalled because the build date is not in the timeframe Chevrolet has identified. Chevrolet agreed to pay for the diagnostic to identify the problem, but will not pay to correct the problem, even though there are countless complaints for this issue.

I was slowing down at an intersection to make a right hand turn. As I made the turn, my engine died. I lost power steering, and my vehicle was extremely difficult to control. I nearly hit another car. My engine restarted immediately after I placed the truck in park. The next day, my truck died again while slowing to enter an intersection. I immediately took it to a mechanic, who replaced the throttle body. On the way home, it died while make a right hand turn. This appears to be a common failing with the Chevrolet Colorado, and is very dangerous as it causes a loss of power steering.

I had a power steering malfunction on three occasions on February 13,16,and 17. All three times it was -10 below zero or more and lost my power steering. My truck is parked in a garage at night ,this happened all three times after being outside for several hours in extremey cold weather. The driver info center displayed (service power steering-- drive with care). After I had driven about 5 miles and shut the truck of and restarted it the power steering worked. At this time it is working ok. I have a second appointment on March 2nd with my dealer to try and fix this issue.
