Just as you accelerate, around 1200 to 1500 rpm, with a light touch, you hear want is being described as a "warble" sound. It has a metallic ring and lasts a few seconds. Loading the engine on a hill makes the sound more intense. It is happening to a stock 2015 stingray coupe. Thought this was only happening to me because others do no have this issue but found a group of Corvette owners on the Corvette forum with the same issue.

There was a manufacturing error made during engine build with the valve guides. They are making a noise currently. This can cause the engine to fail abrubtly and consequently one could lose power (engine) and thus loose braking assist & power steering assist and can cause a crash & could be fatal.

Driving normal citystreets 25mph when engine noise started, went another 2 blocks, engine stopped running, towed to chevy dealer. If this had happened on major highway, possible catastrophic effects. No power steering ,brakes, engine oil on roadway, steering wheel lock, wrecks ,injuries or possible fatalities. Engine head poor workmanship in these ls7 engines.

Engine started making noise, feeling there could be a failure I drove to my servicing Chevrolet dealer. They listened to the engine and said, that's normal. Not trusting that judgment, I had an independent shop inspect the engine, and had the valve issue resolved at my expense. I was still under extended warranty, which made me angry. But if the dealer says there is noting wrong, what am I supposed to do? after the repair was performed at my expense, I took the failing parts back to the dealer for them to inspect. They admitted they were wrong, but what good did that do me? keep in mind my vehicle had less than 10k miles on it. This is where I feel safety comes into play; had my engine failed and locked up on todays crowed interstates, I could have caused a major accident. The failures I have read about, gave no warning, when the engine let-go.
I was driving back home from lunch with a friend I haven't seen for a while, car ran flawlessly up to the loss, dropped him back off at his car and we parted ways. Then on my way home, making a left hand turn, going about 40mph, 3rd gear cruising along all of a sudden the car sounded like the exhaust came loose, followed by a lot of engine noise, followed by a large white puff of smoke from behind. I had a extended warranty that was by Mercury and they denied the warranty due to abuse. Went to a race event 3 months prior and did 3 races on a straight away from 50-130, found footage of my car on youtube and they claimed that was the reason why I blew my motor. They said I either had to deny that and risk getting charged with fraud or admit that was me in the video. This will definitely be the last gm I ever buy. Now left with a useless car and having to pay out of pocket for a new motor.
I have a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette that is in for repair for abs and other. The part a abs module does not seem to be available and may not be for another 2 to three weeks. This car has been in since 5/5 and I have no idea when I may get the vehicle back. I do not think it is reasonable to have a vehicle in for such a long time. The vehicle uses a lot of oil also, and engine noise is a problem.
