Fuel pump module leaking fuel causing fuel to drip onto the exhaust pipe. Potential fire hazard to occupants and occupants of area it is parked near. Yes the dealer and repair shop have confirmed it has cracked when it should not. It has only been inspected by the repair shop due to immediate safety concern. The symptoms were a very strong fuel odor and a puddle of fuel on the ground in the beginning of November.

Fuel leak issue. I have a fuel leak coming from a faulty fuel pump on the driver'side. Very dangerous. Leaking down on side of tank. Could possibly leak down onto exhaust. Gm said there was nothing they could do. I have taken it to landers mclarty Chevrolet in huntsville, al for replacement. Cost is $1963. 02. There should have been a recall instead of a special advisory since they admitted it was a faulty plastic that causes the problem.

Fuel leak on driver side tank elbow on gas pump is cracked. Low beam headlights do not work, high beams are ok.

09/30/2024 the smell is gasoline is emanating from the driver side after I put gas at a local gas station. A short while after I arrived home, the smell of gasoline was still strong. I observed a puddle of gas by the driver side door underneath the gas filler. I have not attempted to start the car until I know it is safe to move to a local dealership or mechanic. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

When driving, car will falsely and intermittently get random error codes on bus module; resulting in a false frunk or front latch service warning under body control module code b1a5f or u164f for gateway. Chevy has found electrical connectors for car built in Nov/Dec 2023 which have plastic or bits inside the connectors making the electrical system have issues. However, even after addressing those faulty connectors they now think its also related to bad software. No resolution after 8 months of attempted repairs, and chevy forums show other people with the bus errors around same build time of end 2023. If you are driving car when these errors randomly pop in or out, the car will go into reduced power and speed limit of 25 mph as it thinks the front trunk latch is open (when its closed). If on a highway, this can result in death or major accident. Multiple safety concerns go unaddressed by chevy since early 2024 reports of issues.

Fuel pump elbow at top of driver side tank cracks and allows fuel to leak out of plastic piece. Many have the same issue and all we got was a very temporary fuel pump recall. Engine light is on.

Reoccurrences of car losing all accleration while driving on highway, creating near pile up accidents due again on 7/16. Car gets a false warning signal that the front trunk hatch is open, when it is actually not; others report false neutral signal; the car front trunk is properly latched, and there is no actual safety concern. However, the car immediate and without warning has the driver lose all power. I have now nearly been in 3 deadly accidents due to this failure over the past few weeks. Dealers and gm have not been helpful at all. Issue is intermittent and definitely an electrical or firmware gremblin. Ive seen multiple people post about this issue on the Corvette forum as well!.

On July 1st, I had a defect in the electrical system of my Corvette nearly causing a major accident with several cars and trucks due to a immediate and unexpected loss of engine and propulsion. I was driving about 75 mph on highway in busy traffic. Car randomly and without any human input - flashed a false alarms for an open hood, although the hood was actually latched and perfectly closed. Alarms stated "close hood now, speed limited to 25 mph". Due to the fault, the car lost all ability to accelerate and quickly lost speed. As the car was going 75 at time of the alarm, the car quickly dropped speeds without any brake lights due to the false fault. I could not accelerate to keep safe speed to get to the breakdown lane. The car immediately would not respond. The semi truck and cars behind me nearly rear ended me, which I had to quickly move lanes to avoid. The new lane change resulted in other cars barely missing and all coming to a screeching halt while my car rapidly decelerated <25 mph on the busy freeway. When the fault occurred - the hood was mechanically closed and fault went away just by restarting the car/engine. Issue occurred 10:11 am on July 1 very terrifying event, but it has not yet reoccurred over past 2 days since first observed. I am reporting this as it was nearly a major accident and luckily no one was injured.

Component/system: fuel system – fuel filler / left-side radiator and cooling fan assembly (subject to NHTSA recall 25v536). What happened: on June 15, 2024, I was refueling my 2023 Chevrolet Corvette z06 at a bp gas station in phillipsburg, new jersey. As I removed the fuel pump nozzle from the vehicle, a violent explosion occurred. I was immediately engulfed in a fireball. My clothing caught fire and was burning me. I jumped clear of the flames and extinguished the fire on my clothing. I saw that the vehicle remained fully engulfed in flames with the pump nozzle still lodged in the filler. I ran to the adjacent pump island where a station attendant was attempting but was unable to open a locked fire extinguisher cabinet. I broke the glass with both of my bare hands to remove the fire extinguisher. I sustained a severe laceration to my forehead that was approximately 3 inches long and required plastic surgery of over 50 stitches to close. I then ran to the car that was burning with approximately 10 foot flames and I used the fire extinguisher to put out the fire on the vehicle and pump. I then pulled the pump handle from the fuel filler opening and called the police. The police and fire department arrived and confirmed the fire was extinguished. The flames singed the hair on my head and legs. Component availability: documentation including photographs, police report, and medical records are available. Safety risk: a fuel-fed explosion at an active gasoline pump created an extreme and immediate risk of death or serious injury to me the station attendants and others. Dealer/manufacturer confirmation: gm subsequently issued NHTSA recall 25v536, acknowledging the defect — fuel spillage during refueling can contact the left-side radiator cooling fan, which remains active even with the ignition off, causing ignition. This recall directly confirms the defect that caused my incident. Insurance inspection: the police and geico inspected the vehicle. No warnings at all.

My entire garage is filled with gas fumes after I filled my car up to full yesterday. I drive my car once every 2 weeks and this is filling my garage with fumes. There are no visible leaks, there is a technical service bulletin regarding a gas tank issue that expired. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? unknown, the vehicle is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I could smell gas fumes from inside my garage door. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? it will be tomorrow. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? not yet. Haven't got that far. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? appeared today, drove for 2 hours each direction yesterday after a 75% tank fill.

The fuel tank leaks after filling with fuel, resulting in gas vapors filling the garage. This is a known issue with many c6 Corvettes. May result in a fire or explosion.

There is a strong smell of gasoline coming from the outside of the car. It is strongest once the car has been sitting in my garage overnight. Some evidence of fuel under the car.

The car is leaking fuel from the gas tank. I just purchased it 4/20/24. There was a safety recall years ago. This vehicle may not have had the issue at the time of the recall.

Fuel pump had hairline cacks on top. Gas leak under pressure. Strong fumes while in garage. Gas leaks down on exhaust pipes.

There is a fuel leak most likely coming from the fuel pump or gasket from within the 2 gas tanks. Gas fumes are building up in my garage causing a horrible smell. Very dangerous please do something about this. Chevrolet has no recalls for this common problems.

Same fuel smell issue as what gm kinda covered with bulletin #15682 however that is a 10 year / 120,000 miles limit. I'm under the miles but over on time. Just purchased the vehicle (was told "there are no recalls" because they were allow to all it a "special warranty adjustment". If course the previous owner didn't get this addressed . . . Nor would they if the smell started later. So . . . Still a fire hazzard . . . Even the fix offered is replacing platic parts with same plastic parts and crossing fingers. Dealers are quoting over 16 hours alone for a fix pushing costs to over $3000. And this can reoccur in the future when that plastic also fails. Metal fittings for fuel . . . Seems like a better choice costing only a few dollars more. Please do something for us chumps that bought the unfixed cars used. At least require dealer to fully inform buyers. "we didn't test for it because we would have to drop the tank with requires removal of exhaust, transmission etc" which is I'm sure more than 1/2 the labor of the fix minus parts. The easy test is fill it near full of gas, drive it, smell it.

I purchased this car just 10 days ago. The first night that I got it I went in the garage and smelled a lot of gas smell. Many people including myself have their gas water heater in the garage and I started to really panic. I googled the issue and it's apparent that this is a very common issue on the 2008-2013 Corvettes and gm has used a faulty fuel pump module that started deteriorating over short period of time. I had a very sleepless and stressful night that night in fear of me waking up to a garage fire. I beg of you to please start a recall on this before anyone loses their life and their house.

Strong fuel smell from defective part on fuel assembly. I was told this is a $4000 fix for a part that was knowingly bad and gm did nothing about it. This is a fire hazard and could burn my house down the gas smell in my garage is overwhelming.

Strong fuel smell inside car as well as in garage. Drivers side tank does appear to have a leak when filled. Doing a search online it appears this is a common issue with this vehicle and that a recall/repair was created for owners however my 2007 (not the original owner) I suspect has since expired. In my opinion any defects that puts the owner and personal property at risk should be covered regardless of age.

Warning light came on checked code p0442 came up stating a small vapor leak in fuel system. Replaced fuel cap , smoke test and found that the evap vent solenoid was leaking. Remove and replace fuel tank vent valve program module. Still smelled fuel. Took vette to a dealership had them do a multipoint inspection they pinpointed and diagnose the problem as the left side fuel tank module and all necessary gaskets and seals needed to be replace at a out of this world price. I believe this to be a safety risk.

Strong fuel fumes filling the car and garage on 12/16/23 after driving {just in and out of the garage), even stronger in trunk, its a convertible. Internet search showed either faulty gas cap, I replaced it hoping that would fit it, or broken plastic elbow on top of fuel pump on drivers side gas tank. Web sites also noted gm covered this safety recall and fix for 10 years. Well, they didn't tell people not to buy this car with a serious defect that could burn down their garage and home! I bought it used with 9200 miles last Feb for almost 52k and clean carfax. I took it to my local Chevrolet dealer, durant in granbury, TX 1/22/2023, they called back saying the recall only lasted 10 years and they won't cover any of the $3,600+ repair cost. Can you help?.

Strong gas smell after filling gas tank. This is a known issue on these cars and although it can develop at any time they only warranty the problem for 10 years. This creates a fire hazard. The attached service bulletin was just released by gm today: special coverage adjustment 15682 primary tank module flange fuel and vapor leaks reference number: n150682 release date: July 2016 condition some 2007 to 2009 model year Cadillac xlr and 2007 to 2013 model year Chevrolet Corvette vehicles may have a condition where a fuel odor is detected, fuel droplets appear below the left-hand fuel tank with fuel gauge level above 1/2, or a malfunction indicator lamp illuminates due to a leak path in the left-hand fuel pump module flange. Special coverage adjustment this special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. For vehicles covered by vehicle service contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after July 25, 2016, are covered by this special coverage and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin. Claims with repair orders prior to July 25, 2016, must be submitted to the service contract provider. Correction dealers are to replace the left hand fuel tank fuel pump module. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

Purchased 3 weeks ago. Third time filling up and first time in the garage. Noticed the fuel tank is leaking at the pump due to defective plastic. Car only has 55k miles, this should not be an issue. Is chevy going to fix this or am I out the 2k repair bill?.
