So recently bought a 2008 Corvette c6 from rick hendricks Chevrolet, and have been smelling the gas smell since I got it, I can smell it outside the car, in the cockpit all the time if it's over half a tank, I look under the car and there's gas all under it. Seems like it's coming from the top of the fuel tank, my fuel mileage isn't that great because of it. Smell is constant, until it's below half a tank.

My 07 has a strong odor of gas by driver side and tank. . . Also on bottom of tank had drips on tank cannot put my car in garage cause the fumes are intense and afraid it might start a fire in my home and also the car . . . I like this car very much and want to keep it in garage but due to this I cannot. I work out of town and I hate to come back and my house be on fire something needs to be done about this issue. . According to research it seems to be my car is not the only one they need to recall this issue and before someone gets burn in car or their house burns down it can cause serious injuries. .

My car had a heavy gas smell. I took it to my mechanics at briggs firestone in oroville,CA and after they diagnosis they informed me about a special coverage notification from Chevrolet #15682-03 ( primary tank flange fuel and vapor leak). I purchased my car in 2018, but was not aware of any problems. There was never a recall issued. I've called Chevrolet and was told I'd hear from a supervisor at 2pm on Monday 4/12/2021. I just called again, and again I was told that a mgr would call me back tomorrow. I've waited 50 yrs to buy my dream car, and being a viet nam vet, I'm definitely tired of getting the run around. If a gas tank leak is not a safety hazard , what is? briggs phone # is 530-533-9372 if you would like to talk to them.

I have a very strong gasoline smell coming from, inside and out side my car when it is stationionary. It seems to be worst, when I have more than a half tank of gas. The smell of gas is in my garage and inside my home when parked inside my garage. I made an appointment with the fremont Chevrolet dealer and dropped off my car two weeks ago at the dealer. My service adviser edger sat in my car and said to me he noticed a strong gasoline smell in side my car. Edger told me they would have to do a test to make sure the gas fuel module was the problem. They did a test and edger told me the fuel module was defective and they would fit it because there was a safety bulletin concerning this issue and my vehicle fell under the guidelines to be repaired free of charge. Two weeks later, my car is still at the dealership unprepaired. They told me they are still waiting for the part to come in.

When adding more than half a tank of gas, the car will have gas fumes coming out from the driver side, sometimes I can see gas droplets coming down from the bolt holding on the driver side gas tank cover. Did some research it was a common problem for c6 Corvettes. It should be recall for safety purposes.

Have fuel leaking from the drivers side tank, not always just when I fill up the tank. When I walk into the garage there is a strong odor of gas and when I take a look under the car there is a stain under the left side fuel tank. I lifted the back end off the car on jack stands and I could see drops of fuel coming from the cover. When I took the cover off for a closer look the cover was soaked in gasoline. Ive had the car for a few years now but I dont drive it much. I believe it was like this with the previous owner as well.
When I fill the gas tank I get a strong gas smell especially when it's parked in my garage.
There is a strong smell of gasoline in the trunk. The smell is stronger when the gas tank is recently filled or full.

Upon inspection, the driver side fuel tank is leaking. The system has lean codes and was advised to drop the fuel tank to verify fuel leak location.
My 2011 grand sport Corvette has a fuel smell/leak on the driver side fuel tank. Gm has already recognized this defect. I need this repair made on this defect made at gm's expense.
I had just put gas in the car. Parked it and later noticed a gas fuel odor in my garage. After reseaching it on line, this is a known problem with the vehicle. There is a fuel tank issue with the car and gm is not taking responsiblity for it.
When the car is completely fueled, there's an extremely strong gas smell and fuel leaks under the left fuel tank. This happens until the fuel level is below half tank.

Getting a strong smell of gasoline in the cabin and in the garage when parked. Cannot see any fuel on the ground, but the area under the fuel tank near the filler area is discolored and may be wicking to that area.
I purchased this vehicle from the original owner. Starting about a month ago I would often notice the smell of gasoline in my garage. After inspection, none of my other vehicles are leaking fuel. After searching for a leak, I turned to Corvette forum, which has a discussion on fuel leaks in the 2008 model year Corvette. Evidently when the gas tank is 1/2 or more filled with fuel, there is a leak which deposits raw gas on the top of the gas tank, from which it drips or evaporates. I consider this leak a fire hazard, and urge NHTSA to require a recall to fix the problem. Thank you for your prompt attention to my request.
After fueling over 1/2 tank fumes are now noticeable in the rear of the vehicle and inside while parked.
Fuel leaking from driver side fuel tank running down the side and dripping off safety shield.

Purchased my 2008 Corvette new and after 50k miles the the cab filled with raw gas fumes, the drivers side fuel tank leak from the top. The tank and pump were replaced. 8,000 mile later the sending units went out. Tanks were dropped and sending units replaced at my expense. Less than 30,000 miles later same tank leak. Now gm doesn't have replacement tanks and the manufacture is saying maybe in 4 months. My vet has already been at the dealer for over 3 months. Ridiculous! manufacture defect for sure on a item thar should last forever. Very dangerous.
Fuel started to leak from passenger side gas tank and fuel smell in cabin.
There is evidence that fuel is leaking from the top of the fuel tank, and the car smells of gasoline very strongly. Car smells while sitting and while running.
When gas tank is full it smells. Gas. Odor really bad. Inside my garage.
Last month when I filled the gas tank I had a strong oder of gas when I parked my car in the garage. Now I smell gas in the car as I drive it. I did not overflow the gas tank upon refill.
Strong fuel smell coming from the left rear. Also strong fuel smell in cabin when fuel tank is over 1/2 full.
When the vehicle sits in an enclosed garage, it fills the garage with raw fuel odor. This happens most often when it is around 3/4 tank. No fuel leaks on the floor visible but odor is very strong. Gas mileage has dropped significantly as well.
Fuel tank leaking on top when tank filled past 3/4. Strong fuel smell in garage and car. Leak stains on back side of tank.
Went to fill up tank and drove off with a very bad gas smell inside the car, put car in garage and smell was so bad had to open garage and put car out. It only smells when I fill up tank.
Car smells like gas around the driver side tire, in cockpit also under the gas tank when the car is filled up, noticed a few small drops of gas the other day under said location. Gm as stopped fixing this, I believe this should be a full recall.
When tank is 1/2 or full stationary, fuel smells and fuel leaks. Leaves spots in my garage and the smell in garage is disgusting. Fuel smell penetrates in vehicle cabin as well.
Car is leaking gas down the side of the driver's-side fuel tank.
In the past few months I have noticed a strong gasoline smell from the outside of my car. Now that smell is occurring inside the car also evertime I fill the tank. I have checked several databases on line to see if other cars are experiencing this problem and it has been reported several times. It is becoming stronger now than before, however I cannot detect a leak under the car. I will be contacting a dealer about this problem, however it is not the dealer where I purchased the car. I purchased the car in another state. The problem that has been reported with other vehicles like this make and model is a small leak at the valve on the fuel tank due to a broken or cracked connector of some sort.
