Gas smell in and around car. Usually after filling the gas tank.
Strong fuel smell when filling car up. Lasts for days or until fuel tank gets below 1/2. No noticeable leak on the ground under. This is strongest in the left rear area where you fill the tank up and in the cabin. I believe this is related to Chevrolet bulletin 15682. Highly dangerous, near exhaust pipes. Likely cause of fire.
After filling up my tank, I smell a strong gas smell primarily from the left rear (where I fill up) side of the car. It fills my garage with strong fumes and I don't feel save starting it, much less driving it. I don't smell anything in the cabin, only when it's in the garage. Also leads me to believe I'm loosing gas and fuel economy so that's a drag. I've looked at possible causes, and it could be many different things so it's currently uknown as far as what part is exactly wrong. I smell the fumes when the car is stationary.

The cockpit of the car smells like fuel after filling up the tank to full.
After filling gas tank full, very strong odor of gasoline. Checked by mechanic and no visible gas leak. Odor continues while stationary or moving. When the tank is only half full the smell is not noticeable. Just began in September of 2017 and vehicle has 29,000 miles. Does someone have to be blown up or involved in a fire before gm takes responsibility for the defect in the fuel system? in researching this there have been numerous complaints and this should be recalled and fixed by gm.
There is a smell of gas after filling the tank. Whether using hold the handle or the auto fill, when the nozzle clicks off, before removing the nozzle from the tank filler neck, I reach over and manually shut the pump off in one of two ways: 1) multiple handle pumps: move the selected grade "pump lever" from the "up" (to pump) to the "down" (shut off) position, or 2) single handle pump for dispensing multiple grades of gasoline: use a finger to push the actuator up to shut off the pump before replacing the handle on the pump. I never "top off" or "round up to the next cent or dollar" but there is still an odor of gas.

Very strong fuel smell in garage, this happens after filling tank. Smell goes away after some fuel is used up. I have owned the car since August 2011. This problem started approximately two months ago. Another problem that started a while ago is that sometimes the transmission won't come out of park, the brake pedal needs to be tapped repeatedly while trying to shift out of park.
Strong gasoline odor after filling gas tank full. Check engine light comes on. Diagnostic code p0442 on car computer. No gas odor when filling tank only one-half full.
There is a leak at the top of my fuel tank. Whenever the tank is 3/4 fill or greater, fuel sloshes out of the top of the tank and pools on top of the tank and sometimes drips down onto the exhaust. . Parking the car overnight in the garage is filling my garage with fuel vapors and I am concerned the dripping fuel may be a fire risk.

Strong smell of gasoline after filling the fuel tank. I do not see any drips or puddles, but the odor is very strong. I do not notice the odor while driving. I can only detect it if the vehicle is parked in the garage. I had the car parked in the garage the day before with a nearly empty tank, and there was no odor. This appears to be a known issue with later VIN 2003 Corvette and all 2004 Corvettes.

Stationary vehicle was filling enclosed garage with gas fumes. Source of problem was fractured high pressure 90 degree fitting in fuel pump atop left fuel tank. Entire fuel pump assembly had to be replaced. Photo attached showing fracture in fitting and showing the fuel pump part number. Contacted Chevrolet. No resolution.

After filling tank with gas, fuel leaks out and leads to overwhelming gasoline smell within closed structure and within cabin. Problem dissipates after fuel level drops below 3/4 full. Dealer estimate on 11/1/2016 says: fuel coming down on left side of left tank, needs fuel pump, internal hoses and crossover.
Fuel leak coming from tank after filling more than 3/4. Very strong gas smell in garage and or vehicle cabin. Leaks when vehicle is sitting.
Leaving service station after filling car with fuel gas fumes were filling the car. Parked it in garage and next morning garage stunk of gas fumes. Backed car out of garage and saw no fuel leaking but fumes still very bad in car. Called local Chevrolet dealer and they said there was not a recall for this. Husband took car to auto shop and put on hoist, where a wet spot was found. Mechanic said the connector tube between the two gas tanks was wet from the gasoline. No way to take a photo because the area to look up and see the connector is so small.

My Corvette has a problem with fuel smell coming from the car after filling the gas tank.
Have gas fumes in the car after filling the tank. Will dissipate after 100 miles will smell the fumes when moving, turning corners, and stationary after using the car.
The car reeks of fuel, particularly noticeable after parking in the garage overnight, and after filling it with gas. It can also be smelled inside the cabin while driving. The smell is emanating from the drivers side tank area. It's been widely reported this is caused by inferior plastic used in a nipple at the top of the fuel pump. The plastic cracks and allows fuel to be sprayed all over the top of the tank and on the exhaust system. Since my car has an automatic transmission, the driveline has to be removed to access the fuel pump. The cost of repair will be in the $2500 to $3000 range, just to replace the pump with a new one that will eventually fail again since gm hasn't done anything to fix the problem. Gm should step up and recall these cars before somebody's house burns down or somebody is killed. The fuel pump and bladder/gas tank were replace in 2013. It is happening again August 2016.

When filling the car with fuel above the half way mark a strong odor of gas can be smelled. Over night the smell is so strong in the garage you need to leave the door cracked open to vent the fumes. No visible leak is detected on the ground or near filler neck. After drive the car and gas is less than half a tank the ordor can not be detected.
After filling up my car with gas, I noticed a strong fuel smell when it was parked in my garage. When I looked under the car, I noticed a small puddle of gas on the floor. I continued to drive the car and noticed the smell and leak went away when the fuel gauge red under half-full. I then added more gas, but did not completely fill up. The smell and leak returned. When taken to the dealership for diagnosis, they indicated a known problem with the tank fill neck and the fuel pump, but no recall issued. The vehicle has not been repaired.
After filling tank, there is a very strong smell of gas for over a week after filling. Seems like there is leak at the top of the tank which spills out and onto the exhaust pipes. Gas must be sitting somewhere on the chassis the smell is strong enough to fill my garage and house.
Strong fuel odor after filling car with gas, almost unbearable in closed space (like a garage). Dealer readily noticed odor when car was taken in for service. Odor originates near fuel fill door (driver's side, rear wheel well). Dealer diagnosed fault as leaking fuel tank, possibly due to cross-over pipe connecting left and right halves of tank or fuel pump; probably high on the tank; no gas drips on garage floor, evaporates before dripping. Estimated cost to repair >$1550 not including parts. Fuel vapor leaks are dangerous. This type of problem has been described for Corvettes as early as the 1996 model year.
Started noticing an emitting of gasoline odors on the drivers side by the rear wheel well. Replaced the gas cap, odor still there noticed odor after filling gas tank. Odor remains until gas tank falls at below 1/2 tank. Advised possibly fuel cross over line between two tanks this seems to be a more typical occurrence on c5 and c6 Corvettes.
Significant gasoline fumes in garage after filling the gas tank and storing the car overnight. Gasoline smell obvious when driving with the targa top is on. Worse smell when the top is off. Fumes are mostly gone after the gas tank level drops below half.
I have a strong fuel smell after filling my tank most noticeable when sitting still or parked.
While the vehicle is parked, especially after filling up the gas tank, the vehicle emits the strong smell of gasoline. The smell of gasoline fills my garage when the vehicle is parked overnight. The concern is that the vehicle may catch fire if exposed to a spark or some other type of heat source such as the vehicle's exhaust. According to the dealership there is no recall for this issue.
