Cost was $1068. 00.

2 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

Notice a strong gas smell near filler door; noticed slight wetness on gas tank underneath car and the smell of gas is overwhelming. The closeness of the gas tank and the exhaust pipe cause concern for a fire.

The fuel module is leaking gas down the passenger side of the gas tank (four inches from the exhaust pipe). Chevrolet has this same problem on the cobalt and it was recalled. The Equinox has not yet been recalled for this problem. This is a potential thermal event.
