Power Steering Pump Problems of Chevrolet Equinox

I was driving to work one morning. When I got into a car accident and hit a car almost head on. As my traffic light turned red I started to break but my brakes locked up on me. Which felt like a brick. I tried to pump the brakes but it would not pump it just stayed very hard like a brick. I start to slide while not really reducing speed I turned my steering wheel a little bit trying to avoid the on coming traffic when my steering wheel locked as well causing me slide right into a car.

The steering pump has gone out, and the flashing engine light just came on . The car is misfiring. There needs to be a recall on this model and year. More people are having these same issues!.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph the power steeling failed. The contact was able to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic which diagnosed that the electronic fuel pump failed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Rwk.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the steering wheel suddenly malfunctioned. The contact indicated that she was unable to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired. The contact was informed that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 90,000.

When turning the steering wheel left or right at low speed or stopped, groaning or rubbing noise is emitted from front tires. Car is 1 month old, has approx. 5000 miles on it now and problem still continues after 2 attempts for dealer to repair it. During fill ups, the gas pump would click/stop and fuel would splash back out of tank and down side of car. This happened whether you set the automatic fill up switch on the fuel pump, or if manually filling the car myself. 2 complaints later, the whole gas tank had to be replaced. 2 days in a row, on 2 separate occassions, the smell of buring plastic and/or electrical wires has been noticed inside vehicle, and is more defined when outside of vehicle and smelling engine area.

Car doesn't start on first attempt. It tries, then even after I release the key it continues to start, like its stuck, I have to pump the gas to get it to start, and it acts flooded. I have spent close to $5000. 00 dollars, brakes, wheel bearings, emergency brake. The front end began to feel very loose. The problem was that the struts prematurely failed and created a very dangerous driving condition. Replaced mounts struts etc etc this car has been a nightmare I bought this car new out of the dealer. 2005 new problem steering wheel is making a grinding noise dealer is saying $1300. 00 to repair it when does it stop gm / chevy needs to fix this cars at no cost.

While driving my 2010 chevy Equinox in a straight line for a period of time the steering wheel binds up and you have to give a tug to get it freed up. It has been in the dealer 3 times and after the power steering pump was replaced it still does it. I opened a file with chevy on the problem and the response I received was that is the way the new steering is designed. Nothing comes up on the scanner so they are unable to diagnose the problem,yet the service manager took the car home himself and he admitted it happened to him.

After starting the vehicle, the power steering pump was at a complete failure. Since then, the pump fails during some turns, and causes a very hard pull towards to outside of the turn. It requires a lot of strength to safely correct the problem.
