Transmission Gear Slipping Problems of Chevrolet Equinox

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the transmission gears failed to remain engaged. The gear slipped while the vehicle was in drive. Uebelhor and sons Chevrolet (972 wernsing rd, jasper, in 47546, (812) 482-2222) diagnosed and replaced the transmission assembly. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

When I need to accelerate to pass a vehicle or speed up from a off or on ramp, engine light, abs light, check esc light, all come on and cruise control is not able to be used. Engine has to be shut down. Transmission is slipping as well.

This vehicles transmission has slipped since brand new. Many other people I know, who have the same 4 cylinder engine experience this same issue. It goes out of gear at stop signs when you try to enter an intersection, on major highways at speed and in any condition. Chevy is aware of the issue but does nothing about in, and, they put this same transmission in the new 2018 Equinox. Also, the car completely shut down driving in the middle lane of a major highway. It was repaired in the shop. A number of other Equinox owners have experienced this same issue.

Just driving home from huntsville, al airport took off from stop sign on a main artery street in the city and my rpm gauge just climbed like crazy and I was not moving very fast so I pulled off main road. I came to a complete stop and tried taking off again it seemed like it was going to be o. K. So I pulled backed onto road when traffic cleared and tried to accelerate and the same thing happened again so know at this point the transmission was slipping pretty bad without any warning I limped it home and called dealer he they told me to bring it in and they would check and addvise for $95. 00 they said it wasnt covered under warranty I had 85000 miles on it. They diagnosed the trans had to be replaced at a cost of $4700. 00 I could not afford that so I had to have it towed to a local trans shop for repairs. Ends up its a 6speed automatic trans and the repair shop had to replace the 1/3/5 drum some kind of plate broke inside the housing the owner of the tran shop said it a real problem gm had 2008/09/10 they have an updated drum and snap ring for repaires. I feel like Chevrolet should be responsable at least for some of repair cost. Thats my story.

Transmission went out after 46,000 miles. Gears slipping. Would not go into reverse. Defective 3-5-r wave plate possibly. Driving home from work.

Takata recall - less than 70000 miles and transmission is slipping and having difficulty changing gears when driving, jerking during changin of gears, worse when a/c is on. Can not use cruise control at all. Current onstar reports and dealership report from June shows that there were no issues.
