I was driving and out of no where my brakes “ all four wheels “ locked up as if I was hauling a heavy load . I put on my hazard lights to warn the semi behind me. So I maintained control of my line until the cargo van slowed down to a safe speed for me to pull over . I thought the semi was going to run into the back of me, luckily the southbound line was clear so the semi took off pass me. So as I was coming to a safe stopping speed my brake pedal was stiff as well and when the cargo van slowed down to a safe speed, I pulled over to check my brakes with a warm liquid “ all four brakes were hot “ .

A safety recall has been issued for my 2019 coachmen leprechaun motorhome (VIN: [xxx] ) built on a gm chassis. The recalled component/system is the subject of an active manufacturer recall; the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have attempted multiple times to complete the recall repair through general motors. However, there is no Chevrolet/gm dealership within approximately 2. 5 hours of our location in [xxx] that has the lift capacity required to service this motorhome. Gm representatives confirmed that the repair must be completed at dick hannah Chevrolet in sandy, oregon. Gm offered to cover towing to the dealer but stated the “reunite” transport (return of the vehicle to the owner) would be billed to us, leaving the consumer responsible for part of the logistics required to complete the recall. Because the recall cannot be performed locally, this situation leaves us without a practical way to complete the safety repair without incurring significant cost. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealership because there is no capable service facility in our region. Any warning symptoms or failure conditions related to the recall are unknown, as we are attempting to have the recall remedy performed before a failure occurs in order to avoid potential safety risks. I was in a front end collison due to a brake failure and when I have a steel gate at about 30 mph no airbag deployed. Car was towed by the upper darby police department and it is totaled. I sustained injuries. There was no airbag light brake warning light came when I attempted to use the emergency brake when regular failed.

I have 2023 jayco redhawk se mounted on a chevy Express 4500 cutaway chassis with only 5300 miles on it. Chevrolet dealer ran diagnostics and replaced an abs sensor which had no impact on the problem. I have an appointment to have it looked at by another dealership recommended by chevy customer service. It is not safe to drive, going up straight steep grades on the interstate the right rear wheel keeps locking up under acceleration. Best I can tell the system just starts braking hard on the right rear and maybe both rear wheels even though you are trying to accelerate. It gets worse on steep entrance and exit ramps or steep curvy roads. Almost always when this happens there is traffic following closely at highway speeds (55 to 70 mph).

The car always turns on the slippery road warning light when I drive over 60 miles per hour and the wheels lock up. Sometimes, the abs warning light also comes on, along with error messages saying 'service traction control' and 'service stabilitrak'.

This is a forest river sunseeker motorhome on a 2021 Chevrolet Express chasis. On Friday, [xxx], after being in stop and go traffic for 10-15 minutes on [xxx] driving at 65 mph, a smell of burning brakes started filling up the motorhome. Then the vehicle started to wobble and the abs light came on. Pulled over to the side and while applying brakes the vehicle shook/wobbled. Drove to a ntb tire store and the manager indicated it was not the tires but smelled like the brakes burning and advised not to drive it. Had it towed to monument Chevrolet and they reported they could not replicate the problem. No repair. On [xxx] after numerous trips in RV, the exact same thing occurred. This time drove it to monument Chevrolet with dash lights abs, brakes, etc. And demanded a repair. They replaced left front speed sensor for $406. 00. On [xxx], coming off of a mountain, the exact problem happened again: wobble, abs light, and this time the stabilitrak sensor on. The dealer in arkansas ran a history report and said the right front speed sensor had failed. No repair available because of the size of the vehicle. Now scheduled to return to monument Chevrolet 01/09/2025 to hopefully be repaired. Chevrolet has recalled 638,000 of the vehicles with identical issues but mine not on recall list. The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Express nav. The motorhome is a 2020 coachman freelander. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, during the night and in the rain, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal and jerked violently. The contact jolted violently and was almost thrown off the driver's seat. The contact pulled to the side of the road. Once the vehicle was on the side of the road, the contact noticed white smoke or steam emitting from the rear of the vehicle. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was towed to an independent RV mechanic who diagnosed that the entire front and rear end were damaged: brake springs, brake rotors, brake lines, and brake pads. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v702000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact notified the manufacturer about the loss, and the manufacturer refused to complete the recall since the vehicle was never taken to a dealer. The contact stated that none of the dealers accepted the vehicle since no lifts were available that could hold that much weight. The contact applied for reimbursement, and the manufacturer declined. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Express. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started to pull to the left, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder off the roadway. After a visual inspection, the contact stated there was smoke coming from the driver's side front brakes. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that the braking system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 18,000.

The abs/traction control system has malfunctioned 3 separate times since purchase of the vehicle in 2017. The indicated fault is code c0110-04, pump motor circuit open. This fault has required the replacement of the brake control computer (gm part# 19435407) and the hydraulic control module (gm part# 25879231). The first malfunction occurred in October 2020 at 48,594 miles, the second was November 2022 at 91,621 miles with the most recent fault in August 2024 at 147,411 miles. The fault has not affected the ability to stop the vehicle, but it does render the abs/traction control system inoperative. The vehicle is a travel van with the majority miles being highway miles (very little city driving).

This module has now failed three times and Chevrolet has had this vehicle in one of their dealership lots since 10/5/2023 with no resolution and they've stopped communication with us.

The abs lights began coming on and off in April of 2023. My certified mechanic checked codes and found no specific trouble from the available code information. The abs lights eventually stayed on by November of 2023. Through more investigation, my mechanic determined that the abs module- c 84055066 and abs pump assembly- c 25879231 had ceased to function. He ordered the abs parts ,(manufactured in texas), and was informed that there were so many shops around the country waiting on those parts that we would have to wait months before the parts could be manufactured and delivered. My vehicle only had 40,000 miles on it when the abs lights were illuminated on the dash. The parts did finally arrive and were installed. We also had to hire a separate abs module programmer to reset the computer. The abs module and abs pump failure seams to be a completely defective system. I would hope these parts will be included in a nationwide recall. Thank you.

Hole warn in front passenger side brake line from battery cable going to engine starter motor. The shielding on electrical cable rubbed and wore a hole in the brake line causing fluid to flow out and caused brakes to fail. No one was injured and no accident. I was backing out of the driveway the brakes failed, next I saw a large puddle of fluid on driveway, I just put it in park. The battery cable crosses over the break line and both are fastened to the frame near each other. I can provide break line and photo. The van has 60,000 miles on it, I purchased it new in 2005.

After purchasing a used vehicle 2020 model, and after setting in owner's garage for two weeks, the vehicle was driven at slow speed thru two intersections after a complete stop. At the third intersection stopsign the vehicle started moving slowly with the brake on. The brake was then applied much harder very forcefully to avoid a collision. The vehicle continued moving at a creep striking the rear of the vehicle that was passing thru the intersection. The vehicle then continued on. . With the brake pedal still applied at floor level and only stopping after hitting the ditch. Problem was----brake pedal going to floor and not stopping vehicle.

This vehicle was sold for use over us highways, as "repairable condition". After going to a mechanic shop, I was advised, because of sever rust the rear leaf spring hangers were completely rusted thru, the rear axle assembly could come off or the frame could break in half, by just going over say, a railroad crossing. The mechanic said they would not repair this vehicle for use to drive on roads. I am requesting a local representative to help evaluate if this vehicle is safe to travel on oklahoma roads.

The brakes will lock up while driving due to an issue with the power brake hydro boost system. The hydro boost control valve will allow pressure to apply the brake master cyl. With engine speed increasing while the vehicle is traveling in a normal fashion. Overheating the brake calipers to the point of protective boots burning up. Rotors and pads are damaged also. This a known problem posted on repair search boards. I am a certified ase master mechanic with over 40 years this a very dangerous event and part failure.

I'd be driving down the street and the brakes would start applying themselves by themselves . I took the van to ganly Chevrolet the first time and they did a brake job and said it was fixed . I drove it about a half mile and was doing about 35mph when the brakes locked , if I wasn't buckled in I probably would have gone through the window . I immediately took it back by putting the gas pedal to the floor . You could smell and see the brakes burning . Later ganly said I needed a brake module and kept the car after about 6months of having my van . They finally admitted they couldn't get a brake module and they had been on back order for about a year and didn't know if they would ever get one later they called me and said they found a loose wire and my van was fixed again . I picked the van up again and while driving home the brakes started stopping me again and my dash board started boinging and my abs light came on . To this day if I drive it more than a mile my brakes grab , my dash starts boinging , my van shakes and my abs light comes on and I must atep on the gas to get where I have to go and all this has happened since I paid ganly Chevrolet approximately $2500. 00 for fixing my van this started in July of 3021 and is still going on .

I'd be driving down the street when my brakes would apply by them selves slowing my car down . After that my dash would bong and the abs light would come on . I took it to my chevy dealer and they replaced the brakes and said it was fixed . I pulled out of the dealers lot and was driving at 35mph when the brakes locked and a skidded to a stop . If I hadn;t been buckled in I would have gone thru the windshield . I held the gas pedal to the floor and returnd to the dealer at about 20 mph and some salesman came running out and said my van was on fire . I got out of my van but I didn't see any fire but there was heavy smoke coming from around the brakes . The chevy dealer had my van approximately 7 months and said they repaired it twice more , but everytime I picked it up the brakes would go on a short distance away and I would have to take it back . I have been driving the car because the chevy dealer says they can't get the abs module to fix it and I can't drive more than a mile or so from home because the brakes apply themselves and I'm afraid the car will break down or catch on fire . I need a safe car to drive and the chevy dealer says they can't fix it because they can't get the part .

Bought this van new & when traveling down a hill, brake assist helps slow up the van. Once the van is on level ground, it will not shift back out of the brake assist & it takes effort or time to return to normal d. I was told I must set up & find a hill. I had major water leaks in the van & once corrected, there started a whistling of air now. The passenger door was 1/4" off, nowhere near flush. How does that get missed? lastly, the right read brake cylinder went out with less then 12,000 miles on it. Many many problems with this "new" van. I'm concerned for my safely & others. The future looks bad with this lemon.

Brakes do not release after sudden stop, three times, on highway 95. Steering wheel started trembling slowly for 10 miles and then violently, then brake pedal gets hard. Passenger side started smoking, on 8 south in CT 4/9/2020. Managed to stop van on soft shoulder. This brake system is very dangerous for me.

When applying brakes to stop the brake peddle vibrates and the car shifts forward a little and the steering column makes a winding noise.

To keep the vehicle from stopping abruptly, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal to continue driving. In addition, the brake indicator illuminated during the failure. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to three different dealers, including emich Chevrolet (303-647-5376, located at 2033 s wadsworth blvd, lakewood, CO 80227) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was informed by the technician that the vehicle performed as designed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,283.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Express van. The contact stated that while driving and slowing down, the vehicle aggressively downshifted, the brake pedal independently depressed and the vehicle lunged forward. The contact was concerned about the hard upshifts and hard downshift of the transmission. The vehicle stated that if the vehicle was turned off and made to sit for five minutes and restarted, the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to vera motors located at 300 s university dr, pembroke pines, FL 33025, (954) 362-9458, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Ah.

While driving out of a mountainous area, the brakes appeared to warp, which resulted in the van shaking violently when the brakes were applied. Once we were back on level ground the brakes appeared to cool down and the shaking stopped when the brakes were applied. The front end alignment was done 11/16/17 by a dealership at 46,000 miles.

My company just recently purchased dozens of 2017 chevy Express vans. One of these new vans (16 miles on odometer) experienced a faulty brake booster mechanical issue which caused the brakes to engage while turning the steering wheel. The design of the brake booster integration with the power steering pump was part of the problem. This is potentially fatal design flaw if you manufacture a vehicle that would engage the brakes just by turning the steering wheel.

Concern that vehicle has no tpms. If tire would deflate could cause vehicle loss of control. Received recall alert from support@dealerrater. Com #15819. Stating that some vehicles had been recalled because vehicle did not pass fmvss number 138.

The vehicle randomly and autonomously applies the brakes and cuts engine power while driving. At this time the vehicle states "service stabilitrak" and the icon flashes that I am skidding, which I am not (I have video proof of this occuring). After 4 trips to the dealership the problem still persists. It is only a matter of time for this to occur while merging, or making a left across traffic and cause a serious and potentially fatal collision.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Express. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the front passenger side brake engaged and the electronic stability control light illuminated. The contact stated that he slowed the vehicle down and the light turned off and the vehicle functioned properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that they could not diagnose the cause of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 2,500.

On October 23, 2012 at 3:00 pm the van pulled to the right while in a left turn, steering first to the right and then to the left when brakes were applied. Van speed was about 25-30 mph, driver was able to control steering but only with force. Light for stability control came on as steering control was lost and was off when van stopped. Engine rpm followed gas pedal lift, and brake apply. The van went onto the gravellecd shoulder of the road during this incident.
