1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2008

Antifreeze is leaking. Auto repairman said that their is a recall because of dexcool. I was told that because of dexcool the repair of the engine would cost close to $800.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2008

I own a 2000 chevy Impala which caught on fire approximately March or April of 08. I called 911 and a fire crew was sent to my prior residence. I recently heard of the recall on the news, however, they stated no fires were reported thus far. I need to find out if my car was impacted. The car is currently in the shop, so an immediate response as to my next steps would be appreciated. Thank you.

3 Engine problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2003

Engine dies suddenly with no warning. At speeds of 40 - 60. Very dangerous situation. Second 2000 Impala I have had with this problem. Problem started with first Impala at 4000 miles, now 50000 on this one. Lots of other 2000 Impalas with same problem but gm has no fix.

4 Engine problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2003

The vehicle caught on fire under the hood, while parked.

5 Engine problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2002

Vehicle starts one time daily as owners manual states on starting vehicle. There after it requires two to four efforts to start the car with multiple cranks of the engine. Sometimes the vehicle will start the first time, after the car has first been started, but more often it will not. Vehicle taken to dealer who could not find any engine codes but advised me that the negative battery cable was loose and therefore not communicating to the computer properly. Vehicle driven from dealership, stopped, and thirty minutes later in trying to start, it took two cranks of the ignition. Went back to dealer who then advised that this problem was happening in other Chevrolet models. Advised that they would contact gm to see of a fix and advise me. After several days on no response from the dealer, went back and was told this time that gm would have to figure out a fix or something. But keep checking with them. I can hardly wait to get my questionaire about customer satisfaction of repairs.
