Blindspot detector on passenger mirror not working. Started flashing while driving with no car around on city street. Then light stop flashing and just stayed on. Got home turned car off and light stayed on. Next morning light was still on but the car was not on. On my way to work light remained on for the entire ride on the highway. Got to work light remained on when car was cut off. Leaving for work light went off and now will not come back on at all.
Side detection system failed. Will not work on left side. Dealership said was corroded wires and modgual would need to replaced. ($1,100). Safety issue and might have a electric burning issue.
Side detection module went out on both side after it was impacted by rain. I was told by the dealership that there is a new module however I would have to pay 1300. 00 for it because it is sealed up better and less likely to receive water damage. I was also told that if not fixed that my car wont start and I would have other electrical issues. Other people have said they their module have caught on fire. Bad part Chevrolet this needs to be recalled ASAP.
It has a few different problems. The first being a trunk seal that was already recalled, yet my “fixed” seal wasn’t even fixed and my trunk is still taking on water when it rains. The other problem started a week ago. My abs light came on while driving and the traction control light and neither will go off. Today while driving my car felt like it was losing power all of a sudden and a dinger went off and the brake assist light came on as well as 2 parking break lights. Both times the lights come on I was driving. None of the lights will go off, and now it’s dinging for a minute or more just because of the warning light.
My truck is filling up with water.
Water is getting in trunk where the spare tire is located.
My car won't work at all half of the time. Mostly all electricity stops in the vehicle. The battery is 2 years old. Sometimes electric will work and still won't start. I have been told there's some kind of electrical problem in my car and that there is a recall on that but for whatever reason it says that it's not for my VIN number. I think my electrical has a problem it's been going on for well over a year now and I have to jump my car a lot.
Ac unit, it make a loud tapping noise the actuator is bad.
While driving my car on a main street moving along at approximately 50 mph the car completely shut down, electrical system and motor. The car would not recognize the fob. Therefore, it would not restart. I put the car in park to restart. Therefore, it was stuck in park and I could not move the car out of the lane of traffic. We tried to re-set the system by disconnecting the battery and tapping the brakes. This did not work. After my husband had brought me the second fob from home the car still would not recognize the fob. I walked away from the car to re-set the fob. The car still would not start. After being struck in Friday afternoon traffic for an hour I called a tow truck. My husband tried the car again and it started. I drove the car home. The very next day I took it to the dealership and they could not find any problems. Two weeks later the car began not recognizing the fob again. The dealership cannot find the problem. I do not want to see any others get hurt from this problem.
The electrical system started to trip out. All the cars systems are blinking on and off.
Takata recall problem when sunroof shade not working. Can not open sunroof shade.
We bought our 2014 chevy Impala ltz March 2018. The back trunk area where spare tire is has filled with water multiple times leading to mold we have breathed in. We have to keep cleaning and emptying water out to try and kill the mold. This is awful. We are not the only ones many complaints with bad tail light gaskets. This should be a recall!!! gm should have to replace at no cost to the consumer. Mold is dangerous and can be deadly.
This car has been a lemon since we owned it. First the electrical system shut down (while we were driving at 70 mph), then the wheel barrings needed replacing at 60,000 miles, and now the solenoid has gone bad preventing the car from shifting.
On the morning of Monday January 29, 2018, I was driving in a school zone at 20mph and all of a sudden I hear a pop so loud that it sounded like a gun shot. I look back through the rear view mirror and the back glass is completely shattered! there were no cars behind me or beside me as there was no traffic it's highly unlikely something hit the glass. I had just dropped off my kids at school and they could have been still in the back seat when this happened and it could have been much worse. This seems to me to be a defect in the window or defroster.
I was pulling into a parking space had my foot on the brake and the car accelerated quickly. Even with my foot on the brake I couldn't stop it. The car slammed into a stone pillar.
Body control module that controls side and rear collision detection is disabled due to corrosion from water damage after normal everyday use. Safety issue.
When it rains hard or after a car wash water seems to enter somewhere near the driver side front by the radiator causing steam on the left side of the front grill. . Looks like car is over heating but is not. . . This only happens when there is heavy rain or after a carwash or any type of moisture that gets only in that area of the car. . . I have seen the same complaint on chevy forums. . .
The trunk fills up with water every time it rains. Up to a gallon of water collects in the spare tire area with all of the carpeted area becoming wet.
The key is stuck in the ignition. You can turn it forward but it will not come out and the car will not start. You can't put the car in neutral to have it towed. There have been several recalls related to this issue for gm cars.
The rear view mirror fell off the windshield while driving down city street at 25 miles per hour. After first seeking help at the local auto glass dealer who told us they could not fix we went to the dealership. The dealership told us the windshield has to be replaced to fix the problem. This is based on a bulletin to them from the chevy factory. The new windshield will take several days to arrive meanwhile the car will have to be driven for at least a week without a rear view mirror until everything can be reinstalled. Because this vehicles cameras and sensors are there as well theuball have to be recalibrated once they are reinstalled as well. The windshield alone costs $570, there will be labor for all of the aforementioned on top of that. The main concern is the safety of driving for a week without proper safety equipment due to the factory defect. The chevy factory bulletin the dealership gave us lists 18 different Buick, Cadillac, chevy, and GMC models ranging from 2013-2016 with this same problem. The bulletin number is #pi1187c. We believe there should be a recall on these vehicles for them to fix this problem. It's very poor design for a mirror to fall off a 3 year old car and requiring it to need a windshield replaced to fix, causes a safety issue for people who have to coordinate this, not to mention the costs involved!.
When driving at low speeds or cornering at steep angles the traction control activates and will almost stop the vehicle. Previously had issue repaired under warranty and they replaced a wiring harness. Issue occurred again. A dealer service tech informed me that there is an issue with water getting in the harnesses but there is no recall only a technical service bulletin. Where it is a known issue that effects the traction control and abs I feel this being a know issue should be addressed though a recall as the repair is expensive and a safety concern.
The linx radio stopped working. The onstar system stopped working awhile after the linx radio stopped working when the car started to operate off of battery reserve (or what I think is battery reserve --- the light on the dashboard changed to blue). I've had to change the batter twice in 2. 5 years. I'm told the battery duralast is a good battery and that its an electrical fuse problem and it would be difficult to find which wire is the problem. The vehicle has been inspected by three different dealers in three different states. I was also told to uninstall onstar for resolution of the electrical problem of the battery draining and needing to draw energy from another source taking up more energy than it's suppose to in the vehicle. Yes, in 2017-18, the problem was confirmed by the dealership where I purchased the car brand new in 2014, criswell Chevrolet in gaithersburg, MD.
While driving on the expressway my sunroof shattered into pieces.
Blind side motion detector monitoring system malfunctioned. This was after headlight malfunction so we thought it was related to headlight repair. Dealer said no. Car was in motion when warning light came on. Classic Chevrolet/gm refused to cover under manufacturer's warranty even though it's under 36,000 miles. They said it was because we were 2 months after warranty. Contacted Chevrolet/gm hoping for partial coverage to no avail. System should not have failed that soon. Neighbor said his system failed also. It was still under warranty so that means his didn't even make it past 36 months.
Random engine and electrical system shutdown at low (idle) speed or when stopped at a traffic light. Vehicle goes completely dead and power steering locks up. All instrument panel display is dead. Generally vehicle restarts automatically in 5-10 seconds. A few time I had to restart it. This was very random but on sat 2-18-2017 it happened 6 times within 10 minutes while in heavy traffic and stopped at traffic lights.
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Impala with 34,000 miles. I was informed my ac compressor has a leak and needs to be replaced. All vehicle maintenance has been completed by the dealer roger dean Chevrolet. They gave me a quote of $1,470 to repair my car. Im very disappointed that this could happen on my car so soon. I have bought 6 vehicles from this manufacturer and feel this is unjust. Please help.
The car has push button start forgot to shut the car off the car kept running for over an hour with the doors open someone could have very easily stole the car by just getting in and driving away note the key fab was not in the car yet it could be driven . . . . This is a major problem. . . The chevy dealer is aware of the problem yet no fix applies to this problem this has happened to me at least 3 times. . . .
Sunshade failure. The sunshade runs back and forth on track to close or open cloth cover. While driving with 4 main windows I pushed button to open shade halfway down the line the shade got off track and you could hear plastic cracking noises. I stopped the shade and pushed it closed more cracking noises and the the whole cloth fell and hung blocking all rear view while on freeway at normal speed. I was able to pull over and slowly push and assist cloth back into car frame so it's not hanging but it no longer works as intended. This is known and per dealership ove 1k for new track and requires moonroof removal to repair. Not covered under warranty.
Safety systems that sense cars around car stopped working. Front, side, and rear sensors failed. Indicator lights in mirrors ceased to function. Dealer states parts are on national back order and have to wait to get them.
Five red warning lights flashed on the windshield followed by several beeps. Happened two days in succession. There were 3 adults and two children in the vehicle. (normal operation only one or two adults) on a two lane roadway, rounding a curve at 35-40 mph. Pavement dry, daylight, nothing in front of us. Truck approaching from opposite direction in his own lane. No automatic braking or speed change noticeable. I did not sense any dangers present. Dealer denies any knowledge of this situation. Nothing like this ever happened during the first 6,000 miles of operation under a variety of driving conditions.
On cold start vehicle exhaust at the y flex pipe will rattle for approx. 15-20 seconds until exhaust becomes warm.
While driving heard a loud noise which sound like a balloon bursting. The next morning when I got into my car and closed the door the sunroof shattered and fell in.
My new car developed a horrible odor after only about 1. 5 years of owning it. I had midas muffle look for the odor because I thought it might be a dead mouse or squirrel. At first they couldn't find it but on the second visit (your not going to believe this) they found some type of growth inside the car's frame rail on the passenger side of the car. The substance actually looked like some kind of mold or fungas growth inside the frame rail. I then took it to pohanka cheverolet, I brought them pictures of the mold/fungas, I brought them samples of the mold/fungas and showed them where it was located. There response to me was they didn't know what it was, they couldn't get to it and they can't fix it. They recommended that maybe their body shop could figure out something but it is not covered under warranty. I told them that this problem was making me and my family sick to be in the car but their response was how sorry they were but it is not covered under the new car warranty and basically not their problem. They also reported on the invoice that the smell was from the water in the spare tire wheel well which the service advisor knows it wasn't since he didn't want to handle the sample I brought and he complained about how bad it smelled. I actually have no clue what this mold/fungas is and I'm having it tested by a fairfax lab next week. All in all I have spent almost $1000 trying to resolve this problem but my guess is I"m going to have to get rid of this car with only 12-13000 miles. I guess I should have known, there was no problem with the chevy ignition switches either until some folks died from it. I've noticed similar complaints but I bet no one has looked at the car's frame rail, this issue is truly unbelievable and no one I have talked to (including pohanka cheverolet)had ever heard, seen or experienced such a problem.
2014 Chevrolet Impala. Consumer writes in regards to recalls for vehicle. The consumer stated every time a recall was issued, he had to drive 35 miles, to the nearest dealer.
I purchased a 2014 Impala on November 8, 2014 from a Chevrolet dealership and 2 days later on November 10, 2014 I received an email saying contact them because it a recall on this car. When I looked up the recall there where 9 recalls on this car. I was sold a car and they new it wasn't safe.
