Starfire solarus as all-season 225/60r16 98h- car started shaking violently while I was driving it- seemed to be coming from rear tire. Limped it home, removed driver side rear tire, and noticed substantial bulge where tread was separating. Replaced tire with another brand. Several months later, same thing happened, and removed the remaining starfire solarus as all-season 225/60r16 98h tire, the passenger side rear tire, and noticed same defect. I bought both tires Mar 15, 2021 on amazon, but have driven car very little. Unfortunately the shop that installed them didn't note mileage on receipt but the tread looks brand new (other than the defect). Looked at amazon and noticed other customers reporting the same defect! [xxx] I think these tires are very dangerous and are going to cause somebody to get injured or worse, especially since both tires are affected by defects and other consumers are reporting the exact same issue on amazon reviews. The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Impala equipped with goodyear eagle LS-2 tires, size: p225/55r17. While driving 65 mph, there was a vibration coming from the tires. Spring valley goodyear of columbia, south carolina was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that there were no recalls on the tires. The tire and vehicle failure mileage were unknown.

The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, there was a loud noise the contact coasted over to the side of the road and notice that the front driver and passenger side tire was separated from the in side and outside wall of the tire, read separation and exhibited bobbles. I work in a tire shop and in the past two weeks I have had two 2013 Impala lt's come in with partially separated tires. Both were goodyear eagle ls2's, same size, and same dot number. Separation was identical on both vehicles. Customers reported that their tire had a slow leak in both cases. Upon checking the tire I noticed both tires had uneven wear and were separated on the shoulder. Tires were both replaced as a result of the partial separation.

My car would shimmy as if the tie rod was going bad, and the tire in question would be flat nearly every morning. After a couple of days I made it to hartington, ne to the nearest Chevrolet dealer. Upon inspection they told me that I was very lucky to have made it there because the belts separated on the inside of the tire where I would have never seen what was happening. Both front tires were replaced at great expense. I now have hankook tires and will never again buy goodyear tires after this incident.

I own the Impala ltz. . . Rear inner tire threads are worn. I purchased the care approx. 3 mos ago. Now I am having to replace the tires. I do have warranty on the vehicle so I am going to take it back to the dealer in hopes that it will be repaired. Reading the issues on here. . . I am having the same problem.
I have a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and I am having a wheel alignment problem my tires are wearing uneven. The car only has 9830 miles on it . I have had a wheel alignment done on the car and a tire rotation done at 8961 miles . But that did not help my tires are still wearing uneven. Advantage Chevrolet checked the cars alignment on 7/25/2011 they said that they can not find a problem with the car . My tires are wearing out in 9000 miles.

Took 2010 Impala ltz to have oil changed and tires rotated. They found the front tires to be worn badly on the inside of each tire. The driver's side had much worse wear with the steel cords visible. We bought the car from a dealership with over 10,000 miles on it. It now has 19,000. In an online search, we found that the car had work done on the steering before we purchased it. It still has a problem with a growling sound in the steering at times. Could that effect tire wear?.

Car purchased used with new tires in March of 2009. In April of 2010 rear tires had severe wear on inside tread that caused belts to show. Four new tires were installed and a four wheel alignment was done. 11 months later rear tires showed the same wear, inside of tire. Was told there was a safety bulletin from gm but didn't cover my car since it was not a police version. Was told by dealership that gm knows about this problem and has come out with a camber kit to fix problem but I had to purchase it and have it installed. When asked why if it was a manufacture defect with the vehicle causing premature tire wear I was having to pay for it was brushed off. Called Chevrolet and filed a formal complaint regarding the matter and was told that it was a maintenance issue and I would have to pay for the repair. Chevy knows that there is a problem with this vehicle and refuses to take responsibility to repair/fix problem and is instead pushing this off on the consumer. Excessive tire wear is a safety problem and I guess people have to die for action to be taken.
Vehicle won't hold allignment and when it does it's still wearing out the rear tires at a rate 1/32 per 1000 miles, it wore out the rear tires in 6000 miles just lucky that I looked at them when I did. The vehicle has 45000 miles on it and this is the second set of tires in 6000 miles.
I purchased a used 2008 Chevrolet on 10/15/2010 and the dealership put a current inspection certificate on the vehicle. During an unrelated visit to my auto mechanic he noticed the tires ( front only ) and stated they were not good and if he would have inspected the vehicle, he would have placed a "rejection sticker" on the m/v. I took the vehicle to the dealership who stated they were ok. Went back to auto mechanic who advised me to file complaint.
I had purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Impala in July, 2010. The first attempt at repair of the front end vibration was on 10/22/2010. The dealership did not recognize the vibration. The vehicle tires were rotated on 01/26/11 in an attempt to stop the vibration in the front end. The vehicle was taken in on 03/18/11 for front end noise (thump) while turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 07/07/11 for the thumping noise in the front end while turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 07/28/11 for a front end thumping noise when turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 08/16/11 for a front end thumping noise and the dealership notices the tires were wearing slightly cupped on the inside edge. The vehicle was taken in on 09/08/11 for a whining noise from tne engine bay and power steering fluid was flushed. The vehicle was taken in on 04/09/12 for front end thumping noise, wheel bearing, transmission surge, and whine noise from radio. The vehicle was taken in on 06/27/12 for rough idle, tire replacement, transmission. The vehicle was taken in on 07/27/12 for rough idle, transmission surge, thump noise in front end and whine noise in radio. The vehicle was taken in on 10/05/12 for transmission surge, rough idle, thump noise in front end, and whine noise in radio. The outcome at this point is the dealership tried to reprogram the vehicle, gm approved replacement of all four tires, a replacement of the power steering pump, wheel bearing on driver front side. The dealerships have done two throttle body cleanings. The dealership has stated they will replace the rotors but gm would not approve replacement only turning on the rotors. This case has been opend with the better business bureau whom advised me to contact NHTSA. Gm refuses to replace parts because their computer system cannot tell them what is wrong with the vehicle. Gm has recalled the police vehicles for front end suspension and has a lawsuit pending in michigan for personal vehicl.
Severe tire wear. 2008 chevy Impala with goodyear integrity tires. Had to have all four tires replaced at 33,000 miles, mind you these are 50,000 miles tires that have been rotated and kept at the recommended psi. They are severely worn on the inner and outer edges and can see the wear bars. Was told by the dealership that the tires to begin with are junk! I had no choice but to replace them being that this car is a lease and only have 4 months left with it till the turn in date. The unnamed tire store told me that I need an alignment but the dealership that my car goes to never said anything about needing the alignment.

During routine maintenance the contact was informed that he should purchase new tires and have the alignment done again. The vehicle was not repaired. I have a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that has 40,000 miles on the vehicle. I will now be putting a 3rd set of tires on the car as well as getting the front end aligned once again. The car wears the tires on the front inner and outer sides. The middle of the tire looks new. The car handles horribly in wet conditions as well.
Severe inner tire wear on both rear tires at around 47k miles. The wire inside the tires was showing and it was unnoticeable just looking at the car. I didn't realize the tires were bad until the rear driver tire went completely flat without warning.

The manufacturer was informed and a complaint was filed and they agreed to call the dealer on the contacts behalf. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced both rear tires. The current mileages were 30,000 and the failure mileages were 20,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the rear passenger side tire continuously wore prematurely. The contact had several alignments performed on the vehicle within two years. In addition, when driving in snowy weather, the contact was unable to travel above 35 mph or the rear end of the vehicle would fish tail. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The current mileage was 109,000 and the approximate failure mileage was 35,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I am now buying the 3rd set of rear tires in less than a year. The inside tread wears down to the wires every 13-16,000 miles. The VIN on my car falls within the VIN's listed on gm TSB 8032, however this car is not a police car. Gm states that I must be hitting a pothole causing alignment problems. I must be hitting the same pothole at the same mileage all 3 times and it only affects the rear tires. There is extensive anecdotal references to this problem on numerous car complaint websites, including NHTSA. Someone is going to get seriously hurt if gm is allowed to ignore this problem. Gm's only solution is to sell me alignments and tires since it is "my fault" and even though the problem is identical to the issue noted by gm in TSB 8032, it can't possibly be related since the other identical problem only happens on police and government cars to which gm sells a lot of cars. The everyday individual does not have the complaining power of a large bulk purchaser.

Rear tires had extreme excessive wear on inside in short amount of time. These were new tires. No warnings. Tire was worn in such a short amount of time if I had not been looking at something in driveway it was on the verge of a blowout. These were new tires so you do not think the inside where you can not see would be down to the wires on the inside of tire. Was going on long trip in 2 days something just made me look down and I saw it. I could not believe it. I took pictures.

Purchased new 2008 chevy Impala only to have excessive tire wear front and back at 13,000 miles when car was 1 1/2 year old. I needed to purchase new tires at that time. Today I learned I need to purchase another set of tires at 26,500 miles. Have had tires rotated regularly and aligned. I thought the first set of tires from the dealership were just "cheap" tires so when I replaced I replaced with good tires. Still need a set of tires a6 13,000-14,000 miles. This is a disgrace. I am just beginning the process of having this problem corrected (I hope). Gm did put bulletin # 08032 for police cars regarding this issue. I guess john q public though is not as important as the police.
I own a 2006 Chevrolet Impala with goodyear eagle ls2 tires as original equipment (m-s p225/55r17 95t, dot m643 bhdr 3905). I was advised that all tires on the vehicle had a defect which caused the tread to separate from the tire in the same spot. The tires still had from 7/32 to 9/32 tread remaining. Having taken off one tire to inspect it properly, the defect was found to be so bad that the dealer would not remount the tire on to the vehicle under California law. At the direction of goodyear, the defective tires were then taken to be inspected by a goodyear dealer and the defect was again confirmed. The identified defect could cause failure of a tire at any time without advance warning. As a result all tires of this manufacturing lot should be recalled immediately.
