I own a 2008 chevy Impala ss, I bought the car in October 2008. Since buying the car, I have had to buy 3 sets of back tires due to excessive wearing on the tires. I have had my tires re-aligned everytime I have had to put new tires on the back, yet they continue to wear out extremely fast. The first set of tires I had to put on the car was in March 2009, then again in may 2010 (of which I needed new back tires prior to then but could not afford to buy them until that time), then I had to replace them again December 2010. I am now on my 3rd set of back tires, and am needing to replace them yet again. I have just recently learned that there is a law suit currently filed against gm, stating that there is a defect in the rear alignment spendle causing excessive wearing on the rear tires. Per the news reporst on the law suit, it is requested to become a class action law suit as gm issued a letter for the police Impala's to be repaired and for the owners to be reimbursed for any tires bought, however they neglected to inform the public who own 2007 & 2008 Impala's with the same problems.

Vibration and pulling on highway in speeds above 60mph. Had tires rotated/balanced and numerous alignments performed without resolution. Third party inspected tires and found "tread separation" on 3 of the 4 tires. Tires exhibited these problems since about 29000 miles and were replaced at 36000.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the tires were wearing prematurely. The front tires were replaced by an authorized dealer at 5,000 miles and again at 18,000 miles. The recommended tire pressure was 30 but the dealer recommended 35, which the contact believed was a safety hazard because it was outside of the original manufacturer's recommendations. The manufacturer offered no assistance when contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000 and the current mileage was approximately 19,000.
Bought my 2007 Impala at local dealership. Was a rental with 12,000 miles on it. Always had a bumpy ride and it pulled a bit to the left. At a recent oil change, I asked for the tires to be rotated as it now had about 24,000 miles. Guy at oil place said I shouldn't rotate them since the better of the 4 tires were in the front already and with winter coming, was best to leave them as they were. Said they are wearing on the insides of the rear tires, down to the steel belts. I took it to the chevy dealer where I purchased it. They indicated they had one other complaint like this. Offered a 4-tire alignment that they would cover. This was not covered by gm warranty (would have been covered up to 7,000 miles). They then quoted me for 2 new tires to replace the rear tires. After some discussion, they were able to get their gm representative to cover part of the cost of the 2 new tires and the dealership covered the rest. I was given a loaner car for a night also. Dealership is fantastic. This is the 4th car I had purchased from them and they have great customer service. Gm on the other hand has a problem with these vehicles and should issue a recall to get alignments done on all of them before tires get in such bad shape! kudos to my chevy dealership and shame on gm!.
While driving vehicle hear and feel lump, lump about 10 times and then an explosion. You can feel the tire explode on the bottom of your car and through the steering wheel.
Tires completely worn at 23,000 miles dealer said because not rotated properly ($500 for new tire)I rotated every 7000 miles they failed at 61,209 miles put on four new tires (3rd set another $470) and rotated every 5000 dealer said poor choice of tires installed goodyear premium tire next set went in 20000 miles wheel alignment done every year no adjustments needed, last set of tires now worn at mileage 83,300. I have had 15 new cars during my lifetime and never have I encountered the premature wear I have on this Impala. Driving all highway miles I do not speed or corner fast I rotate tires check air pressure in addition to tpms system why am I seeing tire failure on three different brands of premium tire?.
I noticed things about my car but ignored them because I thought, this is a brand new car and it shouldn't have any issues. From the very beginning I would notice that my car would slide a lot when there was snow/ice/rain on the ground. As if it wasn't sitting on the ground properly. I would look at it from the rear at a distance and it always seemed to slant/droop at an angle. About a year and half of ownership while getting my oil changed a service tech from an authorized Chevrolet dealer informed me that I had excessive tire wear and stated that I needed all new tires. Note he never stated that I needed a wheel alignment or that there was a possible recall notice that we could fix while your car is still under. He just wanted to sell me tires. From doing my research it looks like I am not alone with the issue of excessive tire wear. Looks like gm is also aware of this issue. There is a gm bulletin 08032 but gm only states that government cars are affected. I know of several people that work on gm assembly lines and they will state that there is no difference, so why has there not been a recall on this issue. This is very dangerous for gm to knowing know that something is not correct on these cars and they are refusing to do anything about it. How many lives have been lost or have to be lost for gm to call a recall and fix the issue on these cars. Update 2/22/2012: I have gotten the "needed" "special" wheel alignment but am still constantly replacing tires that have been on my car not even a year. Will never buy a chevy again. Not reputable and doing the right thing which is to correctly fix over 400,000 cars.
2005 chevy Impala lost control on the wet roadway. Consumer went off the left side of the roadway and struck the median wall, rotated and struck the median wall again. According to the police report, the tires were worn with excessive wear to the edges. Ohio traffic crash report # 10-0349-90

I have had to replace the tires on my 2006 Impala 4 times since I bought it. I am currently on the 5th set of tires after only 105,000 miles. I buy the tires with 50-70 thousand mile usage, yet I have to replace them for uneven wear every 20-25 thousand miles, even with routine rotations and alignment when I saw the lawsuit about 2007 and 2008 Impalas, I was shocked that 2006 wasn't included because it is the exact same problem I've been having.

I purchased eagle f1 (235/50zr18) tires from the corporate goodyear store in richmond, virginia on April 3, 2008. In less than one year, four tires were replaced due to cupping. I researched the internet and discovered other complaints about eagle f1 cupping issues. Now, two additional eagle f1 tires have cupped. I have paid a prorated cost for four additional tires, now two additional tires have cupped. I discovered customers who purchased goodyear eagle f1 tires from tire rack received four new tires at no cost plus a $100 per tire payment to offset tire mounting, freight and balancing. To date, I have spent $1,995. 99 for eight eagle f1 tires with cupping issues. Goodyear offered to replace the four eagle f1s currently on my car with four non eagle f1 tires for $722. 00. Goodyear denies a tire recall. The manager indicated the eagle f1s as one of goodyears best tires, however, they are no longer on display in his store. Goodyear has yet to offer adequate compensation based on that received by customers of tire rack, which is not a goodyear corporate store.
I bought a 2008 chevy Impala, and had to buy new tirers 3 times I constantly comlaint to my chevy dealer they told me thier was no problem with these cars . I finally had no choice but to trade my car onlyn after it was three years old because I would have to buy my forth set of tires. I still have my receipts from all the tires I bought I am furios I want to be part of the class action sued against gm.
The tires are wearing terribly. This seems to be a alignment or suspension problem because the tires wear on the inside . There has never been an accident in this car. The rear tires seem to be the issue. About a year and 1/2 ago, I bought very expensive 80,000 mile tires top of the line unknowingly that there was a defect. The tires were completely trashed- the wires were sticking out of the inside of the tire when I brought them into my tire dealership. The manager there told me to check on a possible recall because he sees this happening with all the 2007 chevy Impalas that he works on. I am afraid that it could cause a accident or worse. . . . .
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The vehicle has goodyear integrity, size 175/70r13 tires. While driving 30 mph in the snow, the vehicle began to slide. The failure also occurred in wet and icy conditions. The dealer stated that the tires were defective and needed to be replaced; however, they did not specify the reason. The dot number, VIN, engine size, and number of cylinders were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 25,000.
Goodyear integrity 225/60r16 tire got flat tire from small plastic debris. When tire was repaired it was pointed out the tire is over half worn at just barely 9,000 miles. Tire if kept on vehicle will require replacement before 17,000 miles. Also tire handles poorly in all conditions. Very loose handling and excessive tire noise on corners even at slow speeds.
I bought 4 douglas touring tires for my 2001 Impala on11/03/05 about 13,000 miles later my right front tire started to thump and shake. I had it checked. It was a seperated belt. I had it replaced and the tires rotated new on the back old on the front a month later the right front tire did the same thing. I had it replaced, this time I was forced to pay a 54. 00 pro rate. What happened to the wareentee of the life of the tire? now today the left front tire is doing the same thing. I can't affored to buy another one or two as the case may be. . . Help.

Within 6 months of leasing a 07 Impala, there has been three separate occasions my tire has lost all air pressure while parked within hours. 1st instance: between 10 a. M. And 1 p. M. The tire lost air to where the rim was touching the ground. 2nd instance: lost 1/2 of air overnight - again the rim touched the ground. I had pep boys and the dealership where I am leasing the vehicle examine the tire and both said nothing was wrong with the tire and it was probably someone letting the air out of the tire. Third instance: I left my vehicle in the garage overnight and woke up to the rim touching the ground. This ruled out someone letting the air out of the tire. I again took it to the chevy dealership who I am leasing through, and once again, I was told nothing was wrong with the tire.
Vehicle has bouncy/shuddery ride driving over 35mph. Looked at by 2 different shops, one said it was a bad tire and replaced under tire warranty, the other said it was separation of tread (bad tire). All four tires replaced with brand new tires (out of my own pocket) and the ride did not improve, then the shop says that it is "bumps in the road" even though there is a distinct difference between a bump in the road (felt from front tires and back tires) and the shudder of the vehicle.
Back end of 2007 chevy Impala slips on water and snow, feels like I'm on an ice rink. Never felt this in the 32 years driving cars. The tires wear on the inside and camber looks way off.
2006 Chevrolet Impala rear tires had a slow leak causing tires to go flat. The vehicle was a rental. The day the vehicle was rented the consumer noticed instability in the rear end but assumed it was the way the vehicle was designed. Each time the vehicle was driven the instability was noticed. A few days later the consumer noticed that the right rear tire was flat. Upon further investigation it was determined that nails in the tire caused the slow leak. The rental agency lodged a claim against the consumer for the damaged tire.
Purchased 2, goodyear eagle LS, p225/60r-16 tires to replace original goodyear gt's at 27,000 miles on a 2002 Impala. After driving on the LS for about a month and extremely dissatisfied with the thumping and boom, boom, boom noises and feel of the ride. . . . , I took them to the tire dealer who said he would put them on the machine that tests for defects. Both tires failed the test. The dealer said it was very unusual to have both tires fail. They replaced them at no cost with identical tires. The replacements unfortunately acted the same way. I did not want to go through the testing again, so I just paid to have 2 new michelin hydroedge's installed. Of course I could not add 2 new tires to the front of my vehicle with another brand of tire, so I had to purchase another 2 michelins at an additional cost of $251. With the new michelins installed, the ride and handling was beautiful. Something is dreadfully wrong with the goodyear eagle LS's.

Request for safety assurance of goodyear oem tires on 2002 Impala. (nar).
When driving vehicle would make a thumping noise. Took vehicle to dealership, and had tires replaced. Problem was getting worse. Took back to dealership, and mechanic indicated that aluminum wheels should be replaced with steel wheels. Had been to dealer 5 times for problem.
Two of b. F. Goodrich tires loae pressure, one at an alarming rate.
When driving with one or more people in the back seat the fender rubs the tire. Dealer can't fix.
While driving vehicle's left rear tire fell off the rim, car was able to get on side. Dealer glued the tire back on rim. This is not the 1st time that this happened.
