2 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 07/13/2014

The turn signals stop working and could pose a safety hazard as to not being able to signal which direction you traveling to. So other drivers would not be able to know that your are making a turn and could result in a crash. This is a very common problem on many gm vehicles not just the Impala, such as grand am, monte carlo, Oldsmobile alero, and more. The problem is in the hazard switch relay which also controls the turn signals which is a defective part and prematurely fails. General motors should make a recall with how many vehicles have this problem and is a know issue on many of there cars.

3 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 04/04/2012

I purchased from valley Ford 4/18/2009 I have had nothing but trouble with it ever since I purchased it. I have had rocker arms replaced, pins, the aftermarket warranty company wouldn't replace them because they told me that it was not an internal problem, I have had pass lock problems which I had to get done, I just replaced the transmission in 2012 the computer on the car read that it was shift solenoids when it turned out to be the transmission. Now as of the past three months my low beam head lamps will not come on . The day time running lamps work but when it gets dark they shut off & the parking lamps stay on. The only way I will be able to drive is to hold the turn signal towards me, its not the bulbs they have been replaced & its not the fuses and no one seems to know what the problem. My cruise control light flashes on and off while im driving & while the switch is off & also my check engine light flashes on & off but when I take it to auto part store to have it hooked up to the machine it doesn't read anything. . . . . I ask that you guys can please help me with this car, & I also have proof of everything I just wrote receipts and all.

Failure Date: 07/01/2009

I have a 2000 chevy Impala and the turn signals flasher stops working every now and then and I found many other complaints online about the same problem. I have to push the hazard switch a few times to get the signals to start working again. It is very hard to tell when the signals stop flashing because the light still comes on and turning without a signal is not only going to get me a ticket but it's dangerous. I also read that chevy had to do a recall on the same type of problem on the malibu but have not issued a recall on the Impala.

9 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 03/20/2009

Just recently my 2000 Impala began to give me problems when I used my blinkers. It first began when I just used the left turn signal, all of my warning lights on the cluster came on and the alarm sound of the key being left in the ignition when the switch would be off, yet the engine would be running. Later it began to stall the engine. Then later it began doing all of this using either turn signal. I have bought each and replaced them even to replacing the cluster as no one has been able to find what is causing all of this. I could really use some help in getting to root of this problem. I am a great-grandmother and am scared to ride them in my car. This has now began happening every time I use the turn signal. Good thing I learned the hand signals. I have been a faithful Chevrolet person, I would really hate to have to go to another make.

17 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 02/06/2006

Turn signals work intermediately. This is a very common issue with Impalas. Very dangerous when I signal I don't know if it is going to work. I have almost caused multiple accidents because of this issue. I complained multiple times to the dealer but they claimed nothing was wrong. As soon as I hit the 100,000 mile mark they all of a sudden have a solution. This should be fixed by the dealer because of the number of times it's been reported. There is obviously something going on with the switch.

20 Turn Signal Switch problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 06/01/2005

I own a 2001 Chevrolet Impala. When driving my blinkers will randomly stop working. I have to turn the hazard lights on and off several times to get my blinkers to start working again. I called a dealership and they quoted me $405 for a new switch. However, they were unable to install it because they are on a national back order. The dealership said this is a major issue as they install new switches constantly. After doing some research on the internet there seems to be thousands of people having this problem and there should be a recall for safety reasons. We should not have to pay $405 for our blinkers to work.
