12 Visibility problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 10/22/2010

I had purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Impala in July, 2010. The first attempt at repair of the front end vibration was on 10/22/2010. The dealership did not recognize the vibration. The vehicle tires were rotated on 01/26/11 in an attempt to stop the vibration in the front end. The vehicle was taken in on 03/18/11 for front end noise (thump) while turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 07/07/11 for the thumping noise in the front end while turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 07/28/11 for a front end thumping noise when turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 08/16/11 for a front end thumping noise and the dealership notices the tires were wearing slightly cupped on the inside edge. The vehicle was taken in on 09/08/11 for a whining noise from tne engine bay and power steering fluid was flushed. The vehicle was taken in on 04/09/12 for front end thumping noise, wheel bearing, transmission surge, and whine noise from radio. The vehicle was taken in on 06/27/12 for rough idle, tire replacement, transmission. The vehicle was taken in on 07/27/12 for rough idle, transmission surge, thump noise in front end and whine noise in radio. The vehicle was taken in on 10/05/12 for transmission surge, rough idle, thump noise in front end, and whine noise in radio. The outcome at this point is the dealership tried to reprogram the vehicle, gm approved replacement of all four tires, a replacement of the power steering pump, wheel bearing on driver front side. The dealerships have done two throttle body cleanings. The dealership has stated they will replace the rotors but gm would not approve replacement only turning on the rotors. This case has been opend with the better business bureau whom advised me to contact NHTSA. Gm refuses to replace parts because their computer system cannot tell them what is wrong with the vehicle. Gm has recalled the police vehicles for front end suspension and has a lawsuit pending in michigan for personal vehicl.

Passenger front window makes screeching noise when rolling down. Outer seal was replaced mid last year, and was quoted at dealership of being in need of replacement again. 17 Visibility problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 09/10/2008

When the car is running but in a stopped position, ie. , at a stop light, the heater blows cold air - on any of the dial options, I. E, feet, face, combination, etc. When driving, it then heats, blows warm air. When I had my car into the dealer last year (mahowalds motors in new prague where I purchased the car) for the normal scheduled oil change, they were told about this. The service manager pulled up a bulletin from March of 2008 and it stated that this make/model car would have this problem. It told the dealership how to fix it (no parts involved - just taking off some hoses as there was air bubbles or blockage that was causing this - and they wanted some where around $186. 00 to do this. ). I asked why this wouldn't have been done when they knew about this, that this make of car was going to have this problem, and I was told that as long as we didn't bring it up, they were not fixing it as it was not a "recall", just a bulletin letting them know it will happen. Something is wrong with this process when a dealership or a huge company like Chevrolet knows there is a flaw but sits back and keeps their mouth shut about it and then when confronted the customer is told it will take $186. 00 to fix. I was also told that because there were no 'parts' involved in this repair, that this was the reason it cost this much. . . . . It almost makes it sound like, if there do not have any parts cost to fall back on, then they boost up the labor charges. Bottom line is, the bulletin came out in March of 2008, and my car was in every 3000 miles for the oil change, this 'error' repair should have been taken care of and not 'hidden' in the backroom. This is my complaint. I have talked to the service manager at this dealership (where I purchased the car new), a couple of times, and he said he can't and won't do anything about it. . . . I asked him to call the key company on this and he said that isn't part of his job. Where does customer service end that it isn't 'part of his job.

18 Visibility problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 04/12/2008

Own 2007 chevy Impala. Besides other problems, our front passenger window started making a bad screeching noise about midway down. We took back to dealership and they looked at it, said it was just dirty! continued on, another year passes, still making noise finally I make my husband take it to them and to fix it. They did not tell us what the problem was, but must of done something cause it hasn't made the noise since. We took it in for other problems at that time as well. However, it has scratches on the window from where it was putting pressure from whatever that noise came from, either off track or whatever, it scratched the window permanently.

19 Visibility problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Impala

Failure Date: 01/03/2008

My driver's side sun visor was falling down and would not stay up. The company replaced it for free. However, the passenger side is falling as well and my warranty is expired. This blocking view not to mention unattractive. I have an otherwise beautiful car.
