Windshield Problems of Chevrolet Impala

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that after she started the vehicle, she smelled a burning odor then heard a pop sound. The contact then stated that she turned the vehicle off and waited then restarted the vehicle and proceeded to drive. The contact then stated that she noticed what appeared to be snow on the rear windshield however, the windshield then cave-in. No warning lights were illuminated. The dealer nor the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 139,428.

The back windshield made a big loud exploision noise , when I got out of my car and looked it had all spider cracked the whole windshild. It scared the [xxx] right out of me. The contact also stated that the front driver's side door latch would not allow the door to remain open, and would sometimes close on her leg. I have a 2009 chevy Impala lt. Right after I bought this car, I found that there is a vision distortion with the windshield. The dealer replaced it reluctantly, after I discussed with them. However, there is still vision distortion with the new one, just at different spots. It is dangerous to have vision distortion if I look far ahead. It cause dizziness and tiredness very easily and it is dangerous to the driver and other road users. I am wondering if this is a common issue.

Wipers work intermittently. Can cause accident when they are not working. Have not yet been able to determine cause of failure due to not being able to recreate failure mode. Work great when you don't need them, but when it is raining they almost always fail!.

Windshield leaked water inside of dashboard. Dealer inspected the vehicle. However, dealer could not find the cause of problem.

Consumer states that the windshield has a glare that you can barely see through. Consumer states if you turn to the left you cant see at all. Nlm.

Glare inside windshield.

All the windows in the vehicle have a hazey film on them that won't come off, causing poor visibility for the driver. Dealer says it's not a problem.

Reflection from sun on dashboard causes a distraction to due to a terrible glare on front windshield coming off dashboard from the sun. Consumer hasn't been able to get the problem solved after going to 3 different dealers. Chevrolet was contacted. Please provide more information.
