Three problems related to brake drum have been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet Malibu. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Disk brake rotors are reported to be warped, causing severe shimmy when braking at freeway speeds. This is reported to be a common defect, which general motors refuses to cover under their "bumper to bumper" warranty.
Rear brakes were not adjusted properly which put more wear and tear on the front brakes, and caused vehicle to shake and steering wheel to shake, which may have resulted in loss of control. Please provide further information.
Replaced front brakes 5 times in 32000.
