Brake Disc Rotor problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu - part 2

Vehicle vibrates when applinhg brakes. Dealer contacted. Rotors and brakes keep wearing permaturely.

Brakes will pulsate when applying them. Dealer says that rotors are warped. This has happened twice.

The rotors on this car have been replaced 4 times and are ready to be replaced again and it has been less than 4k miles this time. The dealer has admitted to me that there is a problem with the rotors for the Malibus' but they don't know how to fix them. I have been to several web sites that detail complaints about Malibu rotors and everyone is reporting rotor failure and replacement before they reach 15000 miles. This is the second Malibu I have owned that had this problem. Please investigate, the time, money and hassle that gm is causing over this is ruining an otherwise nice car.

Rotors glazing twice within 21,000 miles. Was told the rotors could be replaced,but expected it to happen again due to a known problem with the rotors.

Within the first 18000 miles I had to replace amy front rotors. When I asked the dealership if it was covered under warranty, they said no. I had to purchase new rotors and then within 8,000 miles they started grinding again. When the rotors go bad, it makes the car shimmy when driving at slow speeds and when I stop. I currently have my car in a shop other than the dealership to put on the third set of rotors and I only have 32800 miles on the car. The dealership tells me that I have to pay them $35 for them to look at my car and see if they can find a manufacturer's defect anywhere. I can not afford to pay them that amount because I am constantly paying to have new rotors put on. Not to mention I have to miss work a lot for various trips to the dealership due to faulty blinkers, knocking noises, lights surging, etc. When people don't work, they don't get paid!.

At 20 thousand mile consumer had rotors changed. At five thousand miles rotors needed to be changed again. Please provide further information.

Front rotors were warped and heat scorned at 8k, 20k, and 23k miles. . . Chevrolet will not re-purchase my car and I have noticed this problem is becoming frequent across the country with Malibu's when checking internet message boards and talking to people about their Malibu rotor experience. This is a serious safety defect!.

Was traveling 50mph and started passing, had apply brakes and steering wheel would have a severe shaking. Would almost lose control of vehicle. Took vehicle to mechanic. Was informed that rotors were warped. Had rotors replaced twice.

Consumer is experiencing front end vibration when braking due to defective brake rotors, dealer was notified of the problem but are unable to repair at this time because the rotors are on back order and they don't know when they will come in. Nlm.

The steering wheel has a shimmy at highway driving, specially when applying brake due to thin rotors. Yh.
