When brakes are applied and while driving at any speed, there is vibration which has made vehicle very difficult to handle. Dealership cannot reproduce this problem. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
Premature fail of front rotors dealer will replace rotors but will charge for pads and additional labor. Wheel center covers present a condition (all 4) that may cause then to come off due to fatigue of supporting brackets. Rear glass weatherstripe shrink abnormaly causing water to enter inside.
Rotors and pads were replaced at 7832 miles. Rotors resurfaced and pads replaced at 22000 miles. Rotors and pads again replaced at 29134 miles. I was told by both dealerships that I have had my car in to that they will have to just keep replacing them until they have the fix for the problem. I feel very unsafe knowing there is a defect in my brakes that is not repairable. After reading on the NHTSA website, it appears this defect is happening more and more often in 2000 Malibus. I am going to pursue gm taking my car back.
Front rotors are warped , do not stop car without a pulsating or surging effect. It was covered under warranty at 11000 miles . Chevy replaced rotors and pads problem did not go away . I brought it back at 29000 miles and I was told it wa a wear problem not chevy's. Rotors are warped and pads are worn two new brake jobs at 29000 miles . Car still pulsates when stopping and slides thru stops. I called gm was finally told they had no problems with brakes, they replaced brakes at 11000 miles as acourtesy but will not do so at 29000 miles. According to complaints listed at NHTSA everyone is having this problem, why not a safety related recall? must we wait for people to die before we act? let 's have safety recall now before we have another explorer/ firestone issue and resultant deaths.
At 3000 miles vehicle began to vibrate when brakes were applied. At 6000 miles dealer replaced brakes due to service bulletin. Vehicle continued to vibrate and would shake to extreme when vehicle was moving fast. Applied brakes, but will not slow down. Vehicle has been taken to dealer on numerous occasions, but dealer has not provided remedy.
Brakes: 1st time they replaced rotor/pad kit at 9066 miles, bad vibration when applying brakes. At present, car has 21000 and they say rotors need resurfaced and want to charge me. I don't think rotors should wear out every 10 to 11,000 miles, mostly highway miles.
Second occurance in 29,000 miles: car develops extreme shudder when applying brakes above 50mph. Potential safety hazard on wet/slippery roads common in NY area. Dealer replaced as "good will" but Chevrolet will not acknowledge problem. Nhtsa customer complaints are very high for this identical problem. Chevrolet should replace rotors with high performance rotors that will not warp or extend warranty to include front disk brakes for life of car. .
Front brake rotors and pads are wearing out excessively within every 8,000 miles of wear. Dealer notified. Feel free to provide any further information.
When applying brakes at 55+mph, front of car and steering wheel vibrates and shimmies so badly, cannot control car.
Tires has a thumping sound . I was by the service technician that the tire has a bouble on it. I had to replace the brakes pad on the front of the vehicle in 8 months. I was informed by the sevice technician and mechanic that they were advised to replace pads with the new type. Although I did not take my vehicle back for brake problems, however my vehicle was in for normal service interval and nothing was told to me of brake recall or replacement recommended by general motor or other manufactors. I believe that under the circumstance my brakes should have been replace with the recommended type by gm , and I . . . Not be charge for that replacement. I have since had by front brakes replace at my expense, and I am sorely dissatified with lack of information provide to me about the safety of my brakes. The dealer should have let know about the replacement early. . . When they do the servicing it the interval.
When applying brakes at over 40 mph vehicle shakes vigurously. Took to independent shop no repair needed at time said it was a manufacturer problem with discs.
Front end shimmy at 50-60 mph when brakes applied;rotors&pads replaced.

Consumer states that there is excessive wear of the front brake rotors and pads. The rotors and pads have been replaced on five occasions from 7,000 to 24,000 miles. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified. Feel free to provide any further information.
While traveling at 65 mi/hr car stope running this happened on 4 separet occasions. I managed to get to the side of th road without being rearended, tried to restart the care only to have it stall again and each of the three times the car was towed to the dealer. The first time they had it 2 days and could not find the problem, the second time they had it 2 days and could not find the problem, the third time they had it 2 days and could not find the problem, this time the fourth time they have had it to date 8 days and still counting. They think it is the fuel pump regulator. I think I want them to keep this car. Each time this has happened I have been in rush hour traffic. I feel as if my luck may run out soon. Could you please help us to get out of this car and into another. Also the brakes and rotors have been replaced 3 times. The heating and airconditioning system has also been replaced. I'm making carpayments on a new car and feel like I'm driving a junk.
Front rotors & pads had to be replaced 3 times within the first year.
Car vibrated on application of brakes. Dealer replaced rotors and pads after 3000 miles!.
The brakes would make a grinding or groaning sound when backing up or going forward at slow speed. The dealer reported that they could find no problem. They had replaced the rotors and brakes on this car at only 882 miles see voq # 736612.
I've had to have my brakes serviced three times in the first year and a half that I've had my car. They warped, so my dealer turned them down; they warped again, so they replaced them; then they warped again, so they turned them again.
Consumer states front brakes and rotors have been replaced twice, and master cylinder has been replaced one, and not sure if problem has been corrected.
While driving and applying brakes front end of vehicle vibrated severely. This problem has been occurring due to premature wearing of brake pads and rotors. Rotors on disc brakes warped causing brake pads to wear unevenly.
The front brake rotors (rotors warped) and pads have been replaced 5 times now but dealer cannot find the problem. The area service manager for chervolet seems to think that "the brakes are not a safety issue". I think differently. The front of the car starts shaking and the steering wheel starts shaking (worse then it normally does), I have also heard clicking noises when I apply the brakes.
Have had problems with the rotors/brake pads at 9,000, 12,000, 16,000, 24,000 and now again at 28,000. Rotors or pads have been replaced 4 times and are bad again. Gm dealer said this is normal for all GMC vehicles.
Consumer stated there was vibration when braking, dealer resurfaced the front rotors at 17068 miles, the dealer has since replaced the front rotors and pads twice, on the third occasion dealer informed consumer that they would not work on the vehicle under warranty, consumer then went to a local shop and had the rotors turned and the pads replaced.
Sounds like pads are dragging on rotors. Vehicle at dealer, who said pads/shoes and rotors needed to be replaced, normal wear and tear.
Consumer bought a brand new vehicle, and it started having steering problems within 24 hours. It was very difficult to turn steering wheel, and steering wheel shook when applying brakes. Steering pump replaced, but vehicle still has shake problem when braking, as well as noise coming from left rear.
While applying brakes there is a squeaking and grinding noise in front wheels. Dealership is aware of problem.
Sever front shimmy when applying brakes replaced once occurring again at 52000miles, almost uncontrollable when slowing from highway speeds.
Initially, the indication that there was a brake problem was a squealing when applying the brakes. At the time, brake pads and rotors were replaced. Then, after an another 3000 miles, the vehicle developed a serious vibration upon braking. The dealer then ground down the rotor. The problem developed again when another 2000 miles were driven, and dealer replaced both front calipers. Another 3000 miles have been driven, and the car has again developed a serious vibration when braking, strong pressure must be applied to slow the vehicle, and when the brakes are applied the car pulls strongs to the right and becomes difficult to control. Dealer has not been able to fix this latest problem.
Front discs turned twice, replaced once, due to pulsing during braking, need service again. Repairs recurr every 10k miles. Fixed twice under warranty, once at owner's expense.
