No physical incidents have taken place as of yet, however when asking about part being replace for my two recalls I get nothing but attitude and "I don't know" answers. My recalls are on the transmission shift cable, body control module, brake apply sensor and electronic stability control. I still make car payments, single mother with a toddler in the vehicle and all I get is an " I don't know" when our safety is in question. If I could afford a rental I would get one and keep the car parked, however a rental is like another car payment. . . . Where do I go from here?.

My son was driving my car down a two lane highway. It had been misting rain and the road was slightly damp. . . Approaching an intersection he reduced his speed to approx 40 mph. Two cars ahead of him slammed on breaks when the light changed to yellow. This caused a chain reaction. . . Cars sliding to prevent hitting the first car. My son said that he was breaking very hard when the anti-lock breaks engaged. . . They pulsed 3-4 times and then released which shot him straight into the back of the truck. He said that he was pushing the break as hard as he could when this occured. The air bags did not deploy nor did the automatic crash response system work. I called on star to see if the system even shows a crash and it doesn't. I think that considering the crash bent the frame in the front end and is in excess of $6,000 you would think the sensors would have picked up on something. After the crash I contacted my dealer to ask if there were any recalls on this issue and was told there were not. I am very thankful that this crash did not result in a more serious injury / death.

I was on my way to school. When I took my exit (23 on route 2), the car simply turned off, locking my steering wheel. I lost control, spung twice and landed on the ramp of that exit. The car has been useless since then. I called the recall hotline to get support and they did nothing for me. I'm left with no car and no support by the gm team that forward me endless recall letters. I've had endless issues with this car since I financed it. Endless repairs, close accidents encounter because of car sensor issues. Brakes no properly working. Traction failing. It has been a nightmare. How can I get support for a vehicle which I loved so dearly and yet nearly cost me my life?.

The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph and while pressing the brake pedal to slow the vehicle down, the electronic stability control sensor light suddenly illuminated and the brakes failed to engage. The contact indicated that once the esc sensor light turned off the brakes operated as normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The failure mileage was 60,000.
I brought my vehicle to my local auto mechanic complaining of a steering/// front brake engaging prematurely issue. My mechanic looked at my front brake system and established that there was nothing wrong with the actually units that make up the front braking system. He then instructed me to take my vehicle to the Chevrolet dealership and have them look at the vehicle's computer to see if they can diagnose a possible sensor issue. I followed his advice. While driving at aprox 40 -45 mph, the steering wheel began to "shimmy" uncontrollably. At this same time, the front brakes began to engage independent of the brake peddles being depressed. I pulled the vehicle off the road and parked on a side street. As the vehicle sat stationary, I notices smoke eminating from both front wheelwells. Moments later, the tire valve in my front left tire blew, causing the tire to deflate. I then had the vehicle towed to the dealership. I told them what had happened. I also informed them that I had already taken the vehicle to my local mechanic, describing the reason why; this was 06/12/14. On 06/13/14, the dealership informed me that they could find anything wrong with the front braking system. I then reminded them that I had already told them that my mechanic had already established that fact, and that it was his recommendation that I bring my car to the dealership service center for a more detailed diagnosis. As it stands right now, the dealership still does not know why the issues I highlighted are happening. Please note - 05/21/14 I had brought my vehicle in for the ignition switch recall. This problem began to manifest itself soon after that recall was completed.

The following codes are active; p0463 fuel level sensor a circuit high input, b0561 abs $43 sys disabled and c0561 sys disabled issues. The fuel gauge was fluctuating, but has now stopped working. The service engine soon light came on and will not reset to off. The service seat belt warning message came on. The problems were intermittent prior to 50,000 miles, but now, just after 50,000 miles nothing resets. I have found that this is a common problem and the repairs are very expensive, yet nothing has been done to convince gm to recall and make repairs. We own a 2006 Malibu with 35,000 miles on it. Now, I'm worried that it is going to have the same problem as our 2007 Malibu. And, who wants to face those repair bills!.

This car stinks. Do not buy it!!!!!! I purchased the car 4/98. After 8,000 miles the brakes started to pulsate. At 13,000 the rotors were replaced. I also had problems with the a/c vents getting stuck. The dealer ended up replacing the vent. The brakes stared to pulsate again by 20,000 miles and by 36,000 miles they needed to be cut. The a/c control head needed to be repalced after 43. 000 miles. The a/c cycled on and off. Let me tell you that gm/chevy knows there are problems and still require you to pay for the parts until they find a solution. Anyway, two days after I had the a/c control head replaced, the a/c started to blow out hot air. Brought the car back to the dealer (royal Chevrolet in new jersey) to find out what happened. They stated there was a hole in the condensor and it would cost $1200 for the part. I found it hard to beleive that something could fit thru the grill without damaging the grill and put a hole in the condensor. When I picked the car up, he threw the keys accross the counter, said it was in the back and walked away. Great customer service!!! 9 months past untill I had my regular dealer look at the car. He tightened a hose and replaced a seal and freon at a cost of $80. A big difference. I recommend them. (lynn Chevrolet). I had the water pump replaced. A camshaft sensor was shorted and had to be replaced. (the check engine light kept coming on) I also replaced the hub bearing on both front wheels after 60,000 miles. Recently the a/c started to have the same problem. I called chevy because I feel I should not have to pay for reoccurring problems. They could care less about the consumer. They have your money already. Chevy told me the only dealer that could repair it on good faith was the dealer that installed the part the first time. The ones the tried to rip me off. Chevy just don't get it. They lost me as a customer. Don't buy this car unless you want poor customer relations.
