Over the last 6 months we have had to replace the battery on two occasions. Each time the entire charging system was checked with no faults identified. Recently, last 3 months, on multiple occasions vehicle will stall while in motion. This has occurred at various speeds from accelerating from a stop to at highway speeds. When vehicle stalls ability to control the vehicle is dramatically reduced; especially hazardous when in heavy traffic. On other occasions all accessories ac, radio, wiper blades, etc will all turn off and not restart until the engine is turned off and restarted. Another frequently reoccurring issue is the sound you normally hear when a turn signal is engaged will stop - this usually precedes the engine stalling. On most of these occasions the engine will restart - twice it required a jump start. On numerous occasions we receive various fault lights/messages that too were unfounded. Most frequent referencing the stability tracking. Restart the engine and fault is cleared only to return at later time. All of these issues are extremely hazardous and places my family and I in danger each time we operate the vehicle. Although there are numerous write ups detailing this systemic problem with multiple years of the chevy Malibu GMC and chevy will not acknowledge the problems and continue to levy charges and collect monies from owners for what probably should result in a recall in order to affect requisite repairs.

Engine stalls when slowing down or waiting for traffic light. Called mechanic for diagnostic check. He said ecs not functioning correctly. I was 10 miles from my home when the car started to stall and it stopped 6 times before getting home. Engine hesitated, had to pump accelerator to get it going and steering was difficult. Is there a recall for that problem?.

On 4/5/2020, while driving on a side street, the car lost propulsion. It read engine power is reduced and stabilitrac had activated. This has occurred several times prior. My very first encounter was on a major highway (I-270) the car has been serviced (per recall) on two separate occasions. It has done the very exact thing at least three (3) times subsequent of the recall mandate. Every time I attempted to restart the car the motor will violently shake. I have made this complaint to general motors, prior to this latest event on 4/5/2020, my complaint had been dismissed. I am being forced to operate this vehicle; knowing it poses a serious risk of accident or death to me and other motorist. Luckily, I was on a side residential street a few blocks away from my residence. However, this was not the always the case and this is a continuous event. I live within a 3/4-mile radius of baltimore's sea-port, train & truck terminal as well as interstates I-895 & I-95's (harbor and fort mchenry tunnel). I travel the I-895 tunnel to work everyday. After several recall attempts to fix, this car is still doing the same thing. Whereas, without any warning signs, it loses engine power and stalls while in motion. Included are onstar onboard diagnosis reports and service records after the initial recall servicing of the car.

My wife purchased a new 2018 chevy Malibu on July 3, 2018. In October 2019, we received a safety recall notice (n192221960) informing my wife the Malibu had a safety issue. The notice stated: "this condition can cause the engine to stall at speed and without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. concerned, I heeded the warning. Since then this car but our lives at risk two times. Each time another part was replaced numerous Malibu owners are experiencing this terror and nothing is being done. I have spoken to gm and the dealer to no effect. I don't believe they know how to fix it. It is past time for the government to step in.
While vehicle is traveling along at interstate traffic speeds(60-65 mph) the car will go into an engine reduced power mode, and emergency traction displays on the dash. The vehicle will not increase in speed,(20 mph max) have to hurriedly find an exit to the right to avoid a crash. At the end of recall 14v252, it states service esc and/or traction control tell-tales illuminate with this condition. The dealer has agreed to repair the brake light malfunction recall # 13036 but will not repair the engine stalling issues, or the problem previously stated.

Around the end of oct, had lunch at a restaurant and as I was leaving the engine light came on and my car stalled and jerked a little. I managed to get it going but since then it's been doing it while driving ~ we ran it through a diagnostic and was given a code "intake (a) camshaft position actuator circuit/open over-advanced. . . . . ".
On or about may 17 and on may 22 2018, the engine stalled when I attempted to enter an intersection after stopping at a stop sign. The green "engine on" light remained illuminated. I had to push the engine start/stop button to turn the engine off, then push it again to restart the engine. After the may 22 incident, the car media system malfunctioned after the car was restarted. The screen displays were normal, but there was no sound from any source including the turn signals and 4 way flashers.

During a seven day period the car was towed three times to luther brookdale Chevrolet Buick GMC. The first time they replaced the battery. The dealer also stated there was only 2 qts of oil in the car. My daughter was dealing with the dealer until the third time when I called gm. Gm just told me (20 minutes ago, jaimicha bass (sp) on a gm recorded conversation) that he knows of no internal gm phone number to call for life and death safety issues. The third time the dealer stated the cars engine is bad and needs "pistons, cyl head, crank and rod and main bearings, needs engine" . They state they found metal shavings in the engine. I again asked the gm senior advisor if there was any mechanism to report life and death safety issues for gm products and he stated no and the car is out of warranty. He will call the dealer and talk with them about replacing the engine. I stated this is a gm issue and not a dealer issue, he stated this is what he will do. There is certainly something wrong here. My daughter was stalled three times, 1 when she tried to start the car and twice driving the car - the car stalled on the interstate. I also stated for his own job security he should route this call to a quality control department function - he stated this is not his job - again this is recorded. Valvoline checked the battery and changed the oil. If the dealer was accurate, doubtful, then the car loses oil in three months and stalls when driving. If the dealer is not accurate, has oil, which is the probably the case, the engine goes bad and the car stalls. Help.

Steering: (2014-2015) the power steering goes out unexpectedly while driving. A power steering notice appears on the radio. Had a mechanic check power steering fluid and found no need, fluid level was fine. Power steering outages continue to happen intermittently and without notice until finally going out completely in March 2015. Power steering is on at start-up of vehicle then goes out in first minute or two of driving. Chevrolet dealer replaced power steering torque sensor @ $470. There is a recall for this same issue in the previous model year but was told my car is not covered. The car only has 55,000 miles. Engine: (2014) engine block cracked after 5 minute drive to work with only 35,000 miles on the car. Mechanic said they had never seen anything like it. All fluid levels were fine and there was no apparent reason for this to happen. Because the vehicle is a 2007 the warranty was expired. Paid $2000 for a used engine to be installed! now paying for the "not covered" power steering issue. Perhaps it's time to buy a different make of vehicle.
