When driving my 2018 chevy Malibu it stalls out while I'm driving reducing my speed to 20 mph when I�am on the freeway. As I continue to drive home I seen a notification that said power reduce system it happens very often and as a result of the stalling I was rear ended from the rear and it is very dangerous for me to continue driving this car.

Vehicle is stalling out while driving, then when shuts off it will not start back up. Fuel pump was replaced, worked great for 1 whole day then did the same thing, left me stranded. Fuse box was then replaced. Ran great again until recently it stalled out in the middle of a very busy street causing me to almost be hit. Pins in the fuse box were replaced, but I'm still having issues, it seems to be related to the fusebox wiring itself, because I'm also having problems with things ran off of that fuse box! this getting ridiculous I've only had this car 4 months and it's been the worst car yet I've never had a vehicle leave me stranded. It needs to be recalled.

I was driving home from work on the highway going 63 mph. I started to feel my car shaking as though it was going to stall out. My car has a little over 17k miles on it. On my display saying service esc with a cresent wrench on the side, my traction control light was on (car with the swervy road) and my transmission light flashing. I started to pull over on the side of the road the the lights and display went back to normal. I called my dealership and spoke to service manager. My dealership had me bring in my car where they changed the spark plugs and relubricated the ignition coils due to misfiring. I questioned is that normal? he said no, then stated there is no recalls listed.

The engine light keeps coming on and says engine power reduce. I had a recall to NHTSA done, but the same problem, and vehicle stalls like its shutting off or won't pick up speed.

The car stalls out while in traffic and/or immediately reduce speed flashing-engine reduce code on the dash, mines in particular has flashed service traction and reduce engine power on the dash, diagnostic testing is not giving any codes for a specific reason for this issue, seem to be something up with the sensors and electrical system on this car- causing multiple issues to happen all at one time. Chevy dealer not very help- suggesting to fix random parts and the issue continues. Decided not to drive on the highway, but did drive on a busy street in baltimore county.

My 2013 chevy Malibu has 68,755 miles I have kept up regular maintenance on it. The vehicle now has an issues with stalling while stopped at a light or stop sign after driving it of and on throughout the day. The chevy dealership can't figure it out and I've spent several hundred dollars taking it to other repair shops. It can be a safe issue if I'm in the middle of an interstate at a stop trying to turn and I need to accelerate. I haven't seen any recalls for this model. I have having this problem starting back in September of 2020 up till this date of 01/23/2021.

The car will sometimes stall and restart its self at a stop when the auto stop re-engages.

My chevy Malibu stalled out on 3 occasions now. This occurs after being at a stop and applying pressure on the gas to place the car back in motion. I was nearly struck by an oncoming vehicle on 2 occasions when the car stalled out. Would have had ample time at a green light had the vehicle not stalled. Power steering is lost when this occurs. I have to power off and repower the vehicle to get started again, resulting in smoke coming out from under the hood and a smell of burnt rubber.

Whenever it's extremely hot outside my vehicle start to act up as in the 2 front wheels would jerk like they're not getting enough power. My car would also stall out whenever it's extremely hot but the temperature gauge would still show as the car being 1/4 near cold. All of this would have at a stationary position or city street or highway position.

The mechanic recommended that both vvt (variable valve timing) sensors be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to second independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with an engine misfire. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.

The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnoses for the 2nd time which the technician was unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle was not repaired, however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer. I was driving my car and stopped at a red light. When the light turned green the car stalled when I attempted to accelerate. Smoke then started rising from the hood. About 5 minutes later flames starting shooting out and the entire front end of the car was engulfed.

I bought this 2013 Malibu in February 2014. In 2016 it started with the many issues. The hybrid system when stopped at stop sign or light would die. The car would completely die while driving down the road. That lead to the power steering going out. Every code on the dash board would come on. Then the battery would just completely die and need to be jumped. It would run ok for a few days then be dead the next. More and more the battery would completely be dead every few days. Had two new batteries installed and it would test fine usually. Seemed that something was draining it somehow. Took it to the dealer many time and could never get a definitive answer. Finally in November 2019 I was driving down the highway and it completely died and would not take a charge (jump). Stranded on the high I had to have it towed to coyle Chevrolet only to be told they didn't have a hybrid mechanic to look at it. Then had it towed to bachman Chevrolet only for them to tell me after having it for two weeks that there was something wrong with the engine. Either they needed to disassemble it to find the problem or I would need to get a new engine for $7,000. I had a claim with gm but they also just gave me the run around. The car itself is only worth $3,500-$4,500. I still was paying on the loan for it also. Not only have I not had a car since November I have a car that won't start and can not trade in on another car. Although there was many complaints about the same issues no recalls are on the car for them. Very frustrating situation I dealt with for a few years with the car and no solution for a fix. I loved that car and chevy but very disappointed in them. Need to invest in another model I guess.

I have a 2013 Malibu lt with 52,000 miles on it. Last month on the 20th of November service power steering warning started to flash on the information system. When that happens my doors would lock and my car would stall. However; unlike most other consumers who are having this problem my steering wheel didn't get tight and I did not lose control of my car. I could not do more than 40mph and sometimes if I hit a bump in the road service power steering would come on and the doors would lock and the car would stall and then go back to normal. I took my car in to genesis Chevrolet to see what the problem was. They had my car for about a good 4 to 5 hours. They then came and informed me that they could not find anything wrong with my care because, no codes where popping up and the mechanic tried 4 times but could not duplicate the situation I was having. It is now December 11th and I am still having the same problem. I just drove to work today and went to make a right turn down the street leading to my job the service power steering flashed again ,the car stalled ,and the engine light came on. This time the car slowed all the way down until it came to a complete stop. Even though my car had come to a complete stop it was still on and running. My radio still worked my heat was still on and I still could shit my gear shift. I put the car in park turned it off for about a minute and then started it back up. When I started it back up the engine light had gone off and I was able to accelerate my car and pull into the parking lot of my job.

The contact also stated that the vehicle would stall while traveling at various speeds. The contact took the vehicle to independent mechanic where they performed an electric system upgrade; however, the failure continued. The contact stated that he had contacted another independent mechanic that informed him that there was a recall on his vehicle. The contact called a dealer clark Chevrolet 801 w business 83, mcallen, TX 78501 956-307-6557 where he informed them that there was a recall on his vehicle. He then took the vehicle to the dealer to be serviced. Once the vehicle was in the possession of the dealer, he was initially informed that there were no remedies for the recall and to pick up his vehicle, he refused to pick up the vehicle. The contact informed the manufacturer of the failure and informed him that they would look into the matter. He was also informed that a representative would call him back to offer assistance. Later that day, the contact was informed by a dealer representative that the vehicle had been repaired. The contact had not taken possession of the vehicle due to the fact that he was initially informed that there was no remedy for the recall. The failure mileage was 39,000. Jo.

The driver was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and waited a minute before restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted, but hesitated to drive. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and then taken to an independent mechanic the following day. The mechanic diagnosed that the transmission system and control valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and was not taken to a dealer. I have a 2010 and repeatedly have issues. It has been to the dealer as it completely lost power in rush hour. Car dash said service abs, power, saver mode, traction control, service esc and then died. I took to shop and they replaced the pcm is what they told me. Car has since had lose of power, sluggish, dies periodically, and now almost 3 years after thousand dollar repair not to mention the air bag light that is on that they are telling me will cost at least 1000 dollars as well to repair as my car is out of warranty and that it is a saftey concern. My car died again while coming through a intersection and the p0341 has come up and been replace3d four times since February 2019. This car is a danger and I am forced to drive it when it runs as I have so much money invested I cant afford a new one. I have also replaced the throttle body and just about every sensor under the hood including spark plugs and battery and car is still acting up. Why are they not helping us. Someone is going to get killed. It stalls suddenly and with little to no warning. I am terrified to transport my kids in this car. Please help us�.

The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer contacted the manufacturer and informed them that a failure code could not be found. The manufacturer provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 39,000.

I own a 2016 chevy Malibu and one of its features is an auto stop/start feature in the car. When this car enters this mode when I take my foot off of the break it is supposed to start again but when I take my foot off of the break it will just completely shut down, when I try to start the car again it will just stall. I was involved in an accident on June 9th 2019 where the car cut off and rolled back into another vehicle. This is just one occasion of the car cutting off on me and becoming immobile. I was told it was a battery issue and a wiring issue I've gotten both addressed but it still happens. I've received a letter from chevy that may address the issue but I have to see. My car currently won't start. Today is September 24,2019.

Since I got the vehicle used from a dealership about 4 months ago it has an intermittent stalling problem where during city driving the car will randomly stall without warning while in drive or reverse at a slow and normal idle meaning the cars not moving example would be sitting at a traffic light,stopping at a mailbox or going through a drive thru or even coasting in reverse out of a driveway, I have had the car into 3 different dealerships and they have done multiple things and cannon seem to fix this problem.

In addition, the gear had a difficult time shifting from park into reverse or drive when attempting to move out of a parked position. The vehicle was taken to bergstrom Chevrolet of madison (1345 applegate rd, madison, WI 53713, (608) 271-2212) where it was diagnosed that the body control module and an electric brake control module needed to be installed. In addition, a rear passenger side wheel speed sensor alternator circuit needed to be installed. The vehicle remained at the dealer since July 16, 2019 and the contact was informed that the repair would cost $2,700. The manufacturer provided a case number and referred the contact to a manager. The contact had not yet spoken with the manager. The contact was trying to find out what repairs were completed by the previous owner and was concerned that the repairs were not done properly. The dealer could not provide a service repair history for the vehicle. The failure mileage was unknown.
