I purchased the car with 11miles on it and I am still having these issues with loss of power steering resulting in almost near death crashes. The car stalls while in motion. This has happened both in traffic and on the highways. Ive had to pull over on the highway. The emissions in the car is always a problem and the engine constantly sounds like it falling out as you switch gears. I have reached out to gm to complain, however they have not been helpful nor are they experts in fixing transmission/ emissions issues. At this point I no longer have faith in this 2017 Malibu and I feel like gm is taking absolutely no responsibility in the errors of the mechanics of this car. So far, I was told after 1 year of trying to fix the issue and hundreds of dollars spent on rental cars because this issue is not deemed a warranty issue, they gave me $1500 to purchase another gm vehicle, never addressing the issue of the safety concerns I have with the car. That is not fix I am willing to settle for. What about the monthly obligation I have in terms of paying off this car? none of the technicians were able to explain to me why this is and I have spent countless dollars in an effort to have this car looked at. The reason for my recent complaint is because again the car is experiencing stalling and low power steering. The original fix from Chevrolet was to change something in the battery "found code coboo b1325 low voltage codes. Found shorted cell in battery casuing low voltage at startup replaced battery and road tested 6 miles. No code returned " however they have changes that cell everytime I take it in for service. This does not fix the issue, instead causes me more money because this is not a warranty issue and I am always having to leave my car for weeks. I am looking for a remedy that is safe for both me and my children. I have repair orders if needed.

Engine power failure and traction control turns off, the cars power immediately reduces power and speed without notice, car stalls out. It is very random without warning/notice; quite dangerous- if the car is turned off and turned back on it returns to normal only for a period of time.

When I am driving, highway or local, my engine will stutter and shut down, or just quietly shut down right in the middle of traffic. It is happening a lot. I have found myself facing oncoming traffic during some of these stalls. Sometimes I can get it to restart snd other times I cannot. Also. I am having trouble get gas into the tank when fueling. I hear air escaping and the pump will shut off. Local mechanics do not want to tackle that issue. The dealer I bought it from says since I bought it used, as-is, that the problem is on me. I have read online that many people are having this same problem. I don't want me ire anyone to become a fatality because of this. What can be done?.

Car is currently parked at a mechanic because I'm afraid to drive it. It began with the rpms going to 3000-4000 when barely pressing gas pedal. The car stalled after putting it in reverse nearly causing me to get hit, the engine light came on so we took it directly to our mechanic. The code for a bad cam solenoid was listed, and that was replaced. Drove it for about a week, still noticing issues with rpms, and when braking, the rpms would increase. Just had to drop it back off at mechanic because while going 30mph, the car when to 4000 rpms and the engine overspeed light came on the dash, and the car was losing power. After I turned the car off, and restarted, the rpms would not go beyond 2000, and the fuel hand went to a full tank? this is completely ridiculous for a car with 70,000 miles, and gm should be held accountable. Thankfully I've not been involved in a car accident yet, but I'm fearful if I continue to drive this car, I'll not be able to say that!.

This car totally cut off on me (stalled, all power everything shut off) more than once within an hour while driving, at least 30mph on a major street. Took it to the dealership because it is still under warranty and they are telling me there is nothing they can do because they can't duplicate the issue.
