2 Fuel Injection problem of the 1998 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 06/24/2003

Driving on I-95 for several hours, car feels like it is on cruise control, but it isn't. I take my foot off the accelerator and car is is still doing 65, tackometer says I'm at 2,000 rpms. I pull off highway at a rest stop and have to almost stand on the brakes to stop at a red light. I put it in park at a gas station and the engine revs. Tack still at 2,000 (in park). Mechanic tells me computer diagnostic shows fuel injection problems (motor idle gummed up and getting stuck). I had both kids in the car. If the brakes had given out, we'd all be dead now.

3 Fuel Injection problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 12/27/2002

Defective"o" ring at fuel line/injector pump caused gasoline to spill on engine block. The car would still run but steady stream of gas pouring onto the engine block. Gas fumes were picked up by air/heater intake filling cabin with gas vapor. Engine fire or cabin flash fire probable under the right conditions. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident with Chevrolet Malibu. I requested the "o" ring from dealer, and was told it had to be sent back to GMC. Any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks a mauro lanziseve. ********dims 11 ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis****770797.

4 Fuel Injection problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 11/09/2002

The car died while driving on three separate occassions. Twice I was on the freeway at 70-75 mph when the vehicle lost power, resulting in a struggle to turn the vehicle onto a side lane of the freeway (once I was going 30 mph, in city streets and was again barely able to avoid an accident by struggling to turn the car into a side street when the vehicle lost power). On each of these incidents, I was unable to restart the vehicle for a time period of 10 minutes, the starter would crank but not turn over. The three incidents all occurred on the same day. I turned the vehicle in to gm to review and they stated nothing wrong and gave my car back unfixed. 3 weeks later, I was going to start my car and again the vehicle would crank but not turn over. Upon taking it back to gm, they discovered the fuel filter was bad and burnt out the pump. They replaced both. I further learned the same service station had to replace similar parts on another 2002 Malibu within the past week. Dt.

5 Fuel Injection problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 07/05/2000

Problem with front rotors are well documented,in my case about every 8500 mile,I dont agree on Chevrolets statement ,which is wear and tear. The manufacturer new car warranty on brakes is 12. 000. I tried my best to cummunicate with out any positive results. This product which is my car developed a major safety issue, which to stall at high speed ,no power brakes or steering and will not start up again . Could cause a pile up . Was in shop 4 times and dealer said nothing is wrong ,told us to remove car from lot 18 miles down the road it tied ,and it took 20 days to finnally fix it,dealer received tbs fuel strainer has production flaws. I hope that persons dont have to die, just to look in to the rotor issue ,I did wrote before and was never contacted, perhaps it was ingnored. I hope this will not . It be a sad situation ,not to hear a cry for everybody who has to pay for brakes. Thank you in advance.
