Steering wheel started shaking slightly in August. Now it shakes and then power steering goes out. This happens on the highway, city streets anywhere going any speed. As soon as the car starts the steering wheel shakes, of you turn the wheel in either direction it will clam it a little. Break lights randomly stop working. Replaced break lights 6 times in the past 2 years. Headlights melt the plastic has been going on since we purchased the vehicle in 2017. All of these issues have been recalled but not on my VIN.

Steering wheel randomly loses power and will not move or is very difficult to move. It happens at start up or while in motion. Definitely a safety hazard. The steering wheel also shakes or twitches at slow speeds or at a stop.

I started to have a issue with the power steering assist a few days ago. The car had a weird noise on the steering and the steering wheel will shake on its own when the vehicle was on. It was not until yesterday that the power steering locked up as I was driving. Steering became heavy. It was very dificult to perform sharp turns. There was a message and a chime upon the steering getting stiff. I took my vehicle to the dealership and was told that although there is a recall notice for my particular vehicle that when using the VIN code no recalls come up so that they would not perform the service.
Electronic steering goes in and out. When in gear and foot on brake the steering wheel vibrates right to left. My vehicle was not part of recall.
The car's steering wheel vibrates left to right when the car is turned on. When driving, "power steering" is displayed on the panel making turning very difficult.

Noticed shaking in the steering while driving. Had aligned 3 times once at a different shop. Has new tires. Tires are now cupped and will wear unevenly. Steering wheel still shakes and car feels like it's being pushed from side to side. Heater core is now bad and it's not even 3 years old. All windows fogged up including front windshield and can smell coolant when the heat is on. Windows begin to fog up driving in town and then completely fog up highway driving.

When I turn my car on, a message pops up saying "power steering" and my steering wheel locks up (car is stationary at the time since I'm turning it on). I am unable to turn the steering wheel at all making my car undriveable. I have to turn my car on and off about 3-5 times before the steering wheel "unlocks" itself and I'm able to move the steering wheel again. While I'm driving through the highway, city streets and also when my car is in parked the steering wheel seems to do some kind of glitching movement by tightening the steering wheel for about half a second, luckily it hasn't interfered with my driving (at least not yet). When the steering wheel glitches there's a tighting feeling the steering wheel gets and shakes when it happens. Each time it does that it last about half second or so, but it happens multiple times back to back so the whole thing last a few seconds. The "glitching/tightening" also happens when I'm stopped at a red light or stop sign, also the moment the steering wheel starts to glitch/tighten up I can feel something on the brake pedal as well. It feels as if the glitch runs through the steering wheel and down through the brake pedal. I haven't had any issues with my brakes yet. But this issue with my steering wheel is getting worse with each passing day the steering wheel tightens up more and more and while I'm driving those "glitches/tightening" are becoming more frequent and stronger too.
Electrical power steering is failing. Steering wheel shakes at times and other times the wheel can't be turned. Noticed this right after starting the car and trying to back out of parking space.

The steering wheel tends to shake and turn left or right while you're driving almost caused a wreck idling it shakes really bad.
Steering wheels shakes while parked by itself.
A week ago, my power steering has started malfunctioning. The sensor goes off and states error with power steering. In the beginning, steering wheel would shake when idle but now locks up while driving. Upon researching this issue, the gm recall site came up with the same year, make, model and exact condition but after contacting the dealership and gm they stated my vehicle was not part of this recall. This is a very dangerous driving situation as I could not turn the steering wheel when trying to make left or right turns. I have children and could now not even safely drive my own and only form of transportation. Chevy has not helped with my situation whatsoever. My father is a mechanic so vehicle has always been properly maintained and fluids kept at proper levels. Recall number is 14772 and the condition is stated to be caused by a defect where vehicles experience a sudden loss of power steering assist that could occur at any time while driving. Please assist as I cannot drive my vehicle in this condition and will be affecting all aspects of my responsibilities.
Power steering failed while making a turn onto the freeway. Steering wheel locked up and jerked the car to the left and almost made us go off the ramp if we had not gained control. Chime started going off but no light in dash indicating something is malfunctioning. Steering wheel shakes left and right while car is idle and while driving. Chime is frequent while driving because of steering wheel shaking. We have a video of this happening when car was on idle.
The power steering message comes on when you start the vehicle and then says esc off. Steering wheel won't turn. Turn the car off and most times if u turn the steering wheel while starting the car it will go off. Other times it takes 2 to 3 times of restarting. Tonight driving home the power steering light came on and the steering went out. Had to pull over and turn off the car and restart it. The steering wheel is shaking and vibrating all the time now.
Upon turning on my vehicle, I was unable to steer the steering wheel. It has happened several times. When the vehicle is stationary, the steering wheel shakes and the only way to stop it is to firmly hold it. Temporary fix has been to restart the vehicle.
I have no power steering when it goes out the steering wheel will shake and service esc message will appear in the message box on the dash it happens as soon as I start the car!.
My steering wheel shakes extremely bad ilit also locks up to the point the wheel won't turn.
Takata recall. Car currently decides when it wants to allow the power steering to work. Sitting still not moving the steering wheel shakes. While driving the power steering will go out with no warning making it difficult to drive in the city or at slow speeds. Contacted local and corporate chevy and neither one could help with the situation.
When I first turn the car on it will flash service esc and power steering wheel also flash at that point I have no power steering, and then I will turn the car off and turn it back on and I have power steering there is no flashing of esc or power steering. The steering wheel will shake while stationary. In the last year I have replaced all four turn signals at least twice and both headlights at least twice. When I turn on the car the headlights will flash and then one will go out while the other one stays on driving down the road I don't hit any bumps or potholes or anything like that and the head light will come on, at that point it stayed on for one day and then it went back out again. My third brake light will work off and on, more off then on. My rear defrosters do not work at all and the control on the driver seat does not work either. Within the last month we have replaced the battery and cables for the car and was told that that should fix all the electrical problems and it did not. I have 2 videos of what the car does but cannot upload on here.
About a week ago, the steering wheel began to shake very abruptly and rapidly. Eventually the power steering stopped working. At times the steering wheel will work but still continue to shake but typically it becomes almost impossible to steer as the power steering has completely failed. I've seen other articles about this particular issue with cars that are the exact model a year, however chevy does not want to help regarding fixing this issue. I have contacted them and they insist there is no recall however upon a quick google search you can find articles about this issue everywhere.
Power steering goes on and off randomly while driving at high and low speeds. Also, steering wheel shakes rapidly while in park.
Steering wheel shakes and power steering won't work.

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu maxx. While the vehicle was stationary at a drive-thru, the steering wheel independently maneuvered left, right, back, and forth. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called the dealer (chase Chevrolet, located at 6441 holman rd, stockton, CA 95212, 209-475-6600) and a supervisor agreed to replace the torque sensor assembly for free. The dealer confirmed that the previous vehicle owner serviced the vehicle per NHTSA campaign number: 14v153000 (steering) in 2014. When the vehicle was taken back to the dealer it was diagnosed that the power steering motor and the power steering column needed to be replaced. In addition, the mechanic mentioned that there were no diagnostic codes found on the vehicle. The contact and the mechanic test drove the vehicle and the steering wheel vibrated. Additionally, the steering wheel independently maneuvered left, right, back and forth during the test drive. The vehicle was at the dealer for one week, but was not repaired due to the repair costs. The mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and handed the keys back to the contact. While reversing from a parking space and turning to the left, the steering wheel veered independently to the right without warning. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel would independently move back and forth. As a result, the contact crashed into a pole. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The contact was concerned that the failure could have caused a fatal injury. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for the most recent failure. The contact stated that the failure occurred on various occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 79,500.

Steering shaft inadequate support of u-joint. The steering wheel shakes going down the road. You can feel a clicking in it when you turn. It's like the steering wheel could break or something. Also every now and then there is a sudden loss of power steering. Power steering goes out and steering wheel locks up. It's done this numerous times over the years. And when we take it in they say the recall won't cover it. I've tried calling dealership and they say theirs no open recalls for the vehicle.
Loss of power steering . Steering wheel vibrates.
I can't use power steering fluid in my car because I've been told it's electrical. I was pulling out of my apartment building and I came up to a red light up the road to turn left. I stopped at the light for a minute, as the light turned green I continued an thats when the problem occurred. I couldn't barely turn my steering wheel and its hard an thats when "power steering" popped up on my dash. My steering wheel shakes uncontrollably and I'm scared to drive it and its my only transportation to and from my job.

There are alerts about the power steering and the service esc on the dash when I turn on the car. Sometimes when I start the car the steering wheel shakes and jerks, without my control. This affects my driving abilities and is a clear danger. The steering wheel shakes the most when I am stopped, but it shakes the entire time I am driving the vehicle. The other times I start the car, the power steering alerts come on and there is no power steering and I have to steer manually. This problem started slowly; originally the wheel shook but not as violently as it does now. Over the past couple weeks it has gotten worse, and recently the power steering has gone out when I've started. Before I could just restart my car and the power steering would work, but now the more I restart the car the less likely the steering will work properly. This problem started in January but intensified in March.
While driving on busy highway the power steering light and esc light comes on and there was loss of power steering. It became very hard for my daughter to turn the wheel. After stopping and turning off engine, she restarted and got the power steering back but the steering wheel vibrated and moved on it's own. Later that week the power steering went out while driving down the highway and it has not come back. I'm thankful she wasn't hurt and the numbers of the exact same complaint on this car is getting ridiculous. The manufacturers need to step up and do the right thing.
Steering wheel shakes when stopped at idle and shakes slightly when driving, after starting the engine the power steering some times does not work and service esc message appears. I can turn off the engine and restart it and everything works but wheel still shakes.
Steering wheel turns by it self, also sitting still ,steering wheel shakes back and forth by its self.
The power steering will go out randomly sometimes whiling turning and also when the car first starts sometimes. Also the steering wheel shakes when the car is not in motion.
