4 Sun Roof problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 04/27/2013

I purchased this vehicle in 2006 with 17,000 miles at the carmax superstore in naperville illinois and have had several serious issues since. The leaking sunroof with the innumerable failed attempts at repair. The leak has never been resolved and I have resorted to covering the vehicle with a tarp during inclement weather. The constant clicking noise in the steering when moving the steering wheel back and forth and the severe stiffness in the steering wheel when curb side parking between parked vehicles. The intermittent ignition failure, the vehicle will not turn over unless you depress the accelerator slightly. There were countless futile attempts at repair for all these defects through out the years of warranty and extended warranty coverage. The failed attempts of correctly diagnosing and properly repairing these defects by the englewwood auto group in englewood new jersey have left me unsatisfied and super frustrated. Today I am writing because the operators seat has now tilted to the right and is leaning against the center console. There was nothing of significance that occurred while driving that immediately alerted me of this problem, I was simply adjusting the seat when I noticed that the seat was rubbing against the center console. Upon inspecting underneath the seat I observed that the right rear corner does not rise when engaging the electric seat controls. The angle of the lean is so bad that it affects my posture and pains my lower back. I am also afraid that the seat will completely collapse while I am driving. When the seat is lowered all the way down it does level to its acceptable norm, but at 5 feet 4 inches tall I cannot operate safely that low to the floor. For a vehicle that is driven on average once a week it is plagued with some serious manufacturer defects that the dealerships' service department is unable or unwilling to repair.

6 Sun Roof problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 06/08/2009

The sunroof in my 2008 chevy Malibu began rattling when in full open position. It finally exploded, spraying the entire passenger compartment (and myself) with glass.

7 Sun Roof problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 06/20/2007

On 7/20 my Chevrolet Malibu's sunroof exploded. I felt it was a fluke or defect. I was driving on I-96 and entering I-94 during the morning heading towards my grandson's day camp. After coming out of the overpass entrance from 96 to 94, within less than a 1/4 mile, I heard this tremendously loud sounds and glass began to shower me and my grandson causing minors cuts. I am grateful I did not lose control of the vehicle. I leased this car on 6/1. It is less than 60 days old. Richard voss from jefferson Chevrolet had the glass removed without so much as indicating to me that he felt something hit the car and whereas I had explained to him, from the direction I was traveling, the speed of the wind that day, the sound of the explosion, the lack of hearing any object hit the top of the car prior to the eruption, eliminated my opportunity to have a claims adjuster view the vehicle and determine the cause of the incident. I feel that my rights to a fair determination were eliminated along with the removal of any evidence to verify either claim as to whether or not this incident was caused from the penetration of a foreign object or a manufacturer's defect. Glass shattered all over me and my grandson. We fortunate to be alive. We only suffered minor cuts and tension. I only hope that it is not because I live in the city of detroit that this claim has not merited further investigation; as well as a major dealer not willing to assist in the replacement of the broken glass from the sunroof.

8 Sun Roof problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 05/31/2006

: the contact stated the moon roof vibrated violently along with the entire roof anytime the rear windows were down. The problem is more obvious at speeds of 65-75mph. The vehicle was seen by a service dealer who determined it was normal for vibration to occur with the windows down. The manufacturer was also alerted of the potential hazard.

9 Sun Roof problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Malibu

Failure Date: 08/16/2001

For months the airbag made noises when driving as air was seeping through the rubber border. Then today the sunroof just flew off the car on the highway so there was no way of salvaging it. It broke off the hinges and the sunroof was not open anyway at all. It was the type that you could either vent or slide back.
