The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. While driving approximately 50 mph, the gauges on the instrument panel fluctuated and the check engine warning light iluminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that oil was leaking from the vehicle and the intake gasket, manifold gasket, trailing arm, fuel filter, pc valve, heating hose, plug wires, spark plugs, and sway bar kit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v701000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 179,274.
