1 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 06/24/2006

Turn signal flasher - inoperative. Also affects 4-way emergency flasher. The turn signal flasher unit is embedded in the dash- as part of the four-way emergency flasher. The flasher unit has failed, and I can't get to the unit to replace it. As a result, my turn signals do not work. I have scheduled a replacement time with the dealer, but am operating in this impaired condition while waiting to get it fixed. The information about replacing a flasher is not in the operator's manual.

2 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 01/25/2005

Blinkers work on and off. Hazard lights affected also. No flasher in my model car. Only a hazard switch. Very difficult to find. Went faulty. It is located right behind the hazard button behind the dashboard. It controls the blinkers and the hazard lights. Go figure.

3 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 09/08/2003

I have owned my 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS for 2 years now. The sunroof got off track in 2001 and it costed me $85 to have it fixed. In June of 2003 it got off track again and a friend fixed it. Now in September of 2003 there is another problem with the sunroof, the motor that operates it makes a loud noise and it will not operate. My turn signals will not work. I have replaced all the fuses in the car, I have replaced the bulb to the blinkers and they still do not work along with the flashers not working. Also the window switch on the drivers side will no longer operate the drivers side window, it will roll down but no up (and thats not a good thing with all the rain we have had). I have also had to replace the breaks two times in the last year and half. I have heard of many complaints of other owners of Monte Carlo's with the same problems that I have had. Even a few from your web site. Needless to say; I am not a satisfied customer with cheverlot! I hope cheverlot will fix this problem for the sake of their business.

5 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 09/17/2002

Urn signal will work intermittently. Dealer notified.

6 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 08/10/2002

On my 2001 Monte Carlo I have intermittent turn signal lights. They work when they want to. Had the issue a few a handful of time under warranty dealer never could make it fail now it happens daily. I have read hundreds of similar complaints on auto websites about all models of chevy with these problems and all chevy wants to do is replace the signal switch for $400 plus dollars per car. Based on what I have read it seems that a serious investigation into this for a possible recall is warranted.

7 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 06/02/2002

Turning signals will intermittently stop working. Only way they come back on is when turning on windshield wipers. Contacted dealer, and the dealer is not willing to do anything.

8 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 06/01/2002

Intermitant failure of turn signals and four-way hazard flashers. Signals will unexplicably cease operation when activated or fail to activate at all. Alternately, they will operate properly. Condition was replicated only once in 4 dealer service visits and then did not persist long enough to facilitate fault isolation. Condition is highly dangerous and could lead to accidents. Dt.

9 Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Failure Date: 09/15/2001

While using turn signals, the turn signals intermittently will work and not work. I have found that if they are not working that I can get them working again by activating the 4-way flashers. Sometimes it takes pressing the 4-way flasher button numerous times to get the 4-way flashers working but then the turn signals will work again. I believe that the problem is in the flasher unit. This seems to be a very important safety issue.
