2 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 08/07/1996

Engine races between 1200 and 2000 rmps intermittently, particularly when the air conditioner is running. Problem occurs while stopped or at highway speeds. Vehicle will suddenly accelerate with no pressure applied to the pedal. Very dangerous and wear intensive on the brakes.

3 Dash Wiring problem

Speedometer sticks, almost every trip after a short duration (5-10 min). Also, tachometer occasionally sticks during extended drives 3hrs or more. In addition, instrument cluster replaced under warranty after first failure. Speedometer up to 15 mph off. Forcefull tapping on instrument cluster will cause speedometer/tachometer needles to indicate current speed/rpm. Problem is independent of climate control temperature.
