Three problems related to brakes failed have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving, the brakes failed.
During a panic stop at 5-10 mph brakes failed to stop. Twice the pickup was taken to the shop for repair and nothing was found. This only occurs during a panic stop.
Brakes fail on left turns. Left turns into parking spaces. Left turn while braking. Brakes go to the floor and the stopping distance is extended. This happens more often if the ground is wet or smooth surface. This also happend when trying to avoid head-on tc with person who ran red light. This was also a move to the left. I have taken this vehicle into the service department several times. Dealer cannot re-create the problem. It occurs when you don't expect it. Very dangerous.
