Two problems related to battery cable have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet S10. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Battery Cable problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2005

2001 Chevrolet S10. The contact stated the vehicle will not start immediately when it was damp. It took a long time for vehicle to start. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic, and they could not find what was wrong with the vehicle. A recall was issued, but this vehicle was not included, no information was available. This has been happening for three weeks. The battery and battery cable have been checked.

2 Battery Cable problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2004

My 2001 S10 died, and would not start, when I checked the battery, the positive battery cable fell off, along with part of the battery. Corrosion on the positive battery cable, also caused the end of the cable to fall off easily. Truck had to be towed home. New battery, and aftermarket battery cable treminal seems to have fixed the problem. Truck only had 41000 miles on it, and already out of warranty.
