Front Suspension Hub problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado

Three problems related to front suspension hub have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2005

Anti-lock brakes kick in when attempting to stop on dry pavement driving slow. When this occurs, the stopping distance is greater. The greater stopping distance increased the chance of hitting something. The dealer replaced the front, driver side hub assembly.

2 Front Suspension Hub problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2004

The consumer stated that 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was having a problem with the abs engaging at low speeds, 5-10 mph. The consumer contacted gm, and this vehicle not included in the recall. The consumer took the truck to a repair shop and had the truck fixed. The repair shop replaced the hub bearing. The dealership was contacted, and they said that it happened a lot. The bearing was replaced on the left front, and that seemed to have fixed the vehicle.

3 Front Suspension Hub problem

The antilock braking system began to pulsate when braking at 5 mph and as a result the vehicle did not stop. The front hubs were found to be the cause and were replaced.
