16 problems related to front suspension have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving at any speed front end vibrated violently.
Truck excessively vibrtes at highway speeds, this is a very unsafe condition. Is there going to be a recall on these trucks since so many of them are defective?.
While driving at highway speed could feel strong vibration coming from front of vehicle. Had taken vehicle to dealer three times.
Truck was fine for first two months then small vibrations. Dealer said two bad tires and changed them (no better). Two weeks later dealer checks tires and says three bad tires . Changed all four (no better). Now dealer wants me to pay for an upgrade to michelins to solve the problem . Why should I have to pay for gm`s cheap tires?.
Cannot align caster within +/- tolarence. Vehicle wil pull to right if caster is put in +/- tolarence.
Front end pulled to the right side. Consumer has to keep control of vehicle by keeping both hands on the steering wheel.
Truck has had several parts replaced for vibration, spends more time in shop than at home.
I made 4 or 5 attempts to have this fixed but it has not as of yet. The truck vibrates. Shakes front end pops real loud.
Truck has a vibration between 60-65 mph that also shakes the steering wheel. Also noticed the left mirror is shaking,leading to believe it may be a problem on left side of vehicle. Contacted gm told me they did have a vibration problem in the Silverado but no fix yet.
While driving about 65 mph could feel vibration coming from the front end and would lose control.
Vibrates at 5 mph/1500 rpm. Vibration is more severe when towing. In shop 3 times, nothing resolved. Rough idle and vibration since truck was delivered. Now has 2100 mile on it, and still same condition.
Vehicle has had a vibration since new. Vibrations can start as slow as 35mph & continue to 70+mph. Dealer has unsuccessfuly tried to repair many times. Now says they "can't fix". I have filed under FL's lemon law statue for a refund.
Truck vibrated. Consumer was told by dealer that truck could not be repaired because dealer did not know when vehicle was vibrating. Consumer did not want to drive vehicle because he was told there was a problem with front end of vehicle.
From 10mph and higher steering wheel vibrates uncontrollably. Dealer has replaced three defective wheels and two tires.
While traveling vehicle hit a pothole. Vehicle would travel from side to side. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide further information.
At 2000 miles front tires started to show noticeable wear, dealer said front end out of alignment could have cause the tire wear, rotated the back tires to the front and realigned the front end, same wear appeared at 5000 miles. Goodyear said low inflation cause permanent damaged. The pressure is 35lbs on all four tires, although the labels says 28lbs on front and 35lbs on the rear.
