Took vehical to get inspected shop said vehical is unsafe to drive and refused to inspect under futher inseption there is exsesive rust on frame that is not normal wear and tear gm needs to step up like Toyota did and replace these frames pls look in to this . This was my only vehical and now I dont have one to drive and cant afford to buy a new one.
Was driving my 2000 1500 and had brake failure. Upon inspection not only did I find extensive rust on lines but my rear shackles are rotting through and some places on the frame. Started to think there no way this should not be happening to this truck. Only 140000 miles this has got to be a case of poor quality. Not only is this a safety issue and should be checked on but it is an expensive fix. I did slide off the road but I came to a safe stop in a field luckily my e-brake worked and noody else was around. Could you please investigate this and take care of it. Chevrolet should stand by their product but they don't care about us, they just want their money. Also there is a lot of rust on body of truck, like actual holes in bedside and passenger side rocker panel is bad. Thank you for your time and consideration ,sincerely chevy truck owner:(.
While driving had problem controling vehicle, it pulls to the right.
I`ve replaced the tires 3 times in 2001. I`ve had tires balanced numerous times. I`v e replaced all 4 shocks in 2001. (tiresize: 16).
There is constant vibration at 25-35 mph that can be felt through steering wheel. Vehicle has been taken to dealer 4 times, dealer insists that vibration is normal for this type vehicle.
When vehicle driven 62-65 mph or at hwy speeds, steering wheel will shake and vibrate. Condition worsens when vehicle is driven over bumps or rough conditions. Vibration will continue, once started, until the vehicle is stopped. Startng over sometimes will fix the problem. The dealer rep decribed the problem as "steering dithers" and said they could not fix. Gave me the chevorlet customer service number. Currently I am told the 'avm' form cheverolet (dan satello) will contact me in two weeks. No offer made to assist me in the mean time, in any form. I did ask for a rent car and was refused, also asked if it was safe to drive and recieved no answer. The dealer note on my repair receipt was "no problem at this time" and "could not duplicate the problem".
Vehicle severely vibrated while accelerating. Vehicle has been in dealer's shop on several occasions, and dealer has performed various repairs/parts replacement, but problem continued to reoccur. Feel free to provide further details.
Severe vibration of truck affecting driveability at speeds of 40-45 and 62-72mph. At highway speds the steering wheel vibrates and at times will be forced out driver's hand if driver does not have a strong grip on the wheel. Vehicle is a safety hazard due to vibration and sudden steering wheel pull and may cause a crash.
The truck started a vibrating/shaking at highway speeds at about 1000 miles. I have been put off and outright lied to about the problem. At times it is so severe that it will cause the cd player to skip. Three different dealers ackowledge the problem is common to these trucks. Chevrolet customer service has tried to blame the dealers for inaction, but I have a local dealer that has been authorized by chevy to try different shocks, springs etc. To solve the problem on other trucks, and has had some success. I only want them to try to do something since nothing has been done up till now. The vibration can be dangerous since it sometimes starts without warning. My wife will not drive the truck at highway speeds.
Vehicle has had a driveline vibration since purchased new . Dealer replaced the tires 3 times and then decided it was not the tires . After failing to correct the problem , dealer states that gm says there is not a problem and that the vibration is normal and within specs. I know this vibration should not be there and I am not the only person to complain to gm . They ( gm ) have taken back either by buying back or " trade assist " many of these vehicles , which , by the way , are within spec. . There is also no know build date for more of these vehicles . I have been offered the "trade assist" for my vehicle which would be acceptable were it not for the $0. 20 a mile they want to charge me for milage already on the vehicle , but also for all the miles while waiting for them to provide me with another vehicle . I may be in the wrong place to complain about this but I don't have any guidence in persuing a resolution to this problem . H e l p !!.
While driving vehicle approximately 65mph vehicle would start to shake violently. If driving at lower speed, shaking would not be noticeable. Have taken vehicle to dealer to check & have not release it as of yet.
This is concerning and very aggravating as it has (2) times caused me to slow down to 50 very quickly by hitting the brakes to stop the vibrations and steering wheel shake. Thought I would loose control. It actually makes you have an upset stomach with the constant vibrations.
2000 Chevrolet Silverado developed a vibration in the front end while driving at 55 to 60 mph. The vibration transmitted to the steering wheel while driving. The consumer explained that this condition could occur 5 miles apart or 20000 miles apart.
Rough idle and vehicle shakes and vibrates at highway speeds---steering wheel shakes violently when going over a bump in road.
The truck vibrates when you go over 65mph. This includes the steering wheel, the seats, cup holders, etc. The whole truck vibrates. We have had it in 4 times and than the dealership said that is how it is suppose to ride.
While traveling 60-65 mph vehicle started vibrating. Dealer and manufacturer have been contacted. Owner told that Chevrolet is working on it and that a TSB will be issued when the problem is figured out.
