Brake Abs Warning Light problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado

Four problems related to brake abs warning light have been reported for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2015

Last fall 10/14 replaced all brake lines due to corrosion (97000 miles). Which has been mentioned numerous times already. After that abs light came on intermittently lost brakes last week to it to the shop they had it for the day everything worked fine. Continued driving light started coming back on & brakes were erratic. Yesterday was pulling out of parking lot had no brakes. If these are known problems why isn't anyone taking care of it. Why you would put untreated brake lines on a vehicle in the salt districts is beyond me. I had an 1989 Oldsmobile with the original line on it til 198,000 miles. I also replaced the transmission at 77,000 miles due to corrosion of the lines. ($2700).

2 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2015

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the anti-lock braking system warning indicator illuminated. The contact noticed that the front drivers side tire and wheel had become detached from the vehicle. As a result, the contact crashed and the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the wheel hub assembly failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,502.

3 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2011

Abs sensor reads incorrectly and triggers the abs system to kick in every time the brakes are used, causing the brake pedal to rumble and giving the sensation of brake failure when the pedal goes soft under your foot. This is worse when turning left. Extra distance is required for braking at all times. Abs warning light comes on at random times for no apparent reason.

4 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2009

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the abs light illuminated on the dashboard. The contact noticed that the brakes and rotors were wearing excessively due to a defective hub senor that controlled the braking system. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer to have the hub sensor and brake bearing replaced three times. None of the repairs remedied the issue with the braking system. The contact called the manufacturer regarding NHTSA campaign I. D. 07e106000 (wheels:cap/cover/hub). The manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 88,000. Kmj.
