We has our truck in for repairs 5 weeks prior due to the airbag light coming on. It was repaired but now the light came back on. We brought it back in and now are being told the wires are corroded propbably from moisture (we live in the desert where it does not rain, nor is it exposed to moisture). The airbag has to be replaced and is costing us over $800.

On may 29th my service air bags light came on. In talking with other chevy silver owners of the same year and around that year it seems this is common. I paid $521. 18 to get these air bag sensors replaced on 17 jun15 at a dealer in harrisburg PA. , because I was told without the sensors the air bags would not go off. This is a safety issue I am being told b y other drivers they are just driving around with the service air bag sensor light on. Thats up to them. Also on 21 Jan 14 I had to have all the brake lines replaced because they had rusted and would not be safe to drive the truck costing $720. 00. I was told it was because of northeastern winters and road salts, which I find to be a unexceptable answer to the problem. On 23 Dec 03 I paid $356. 96 to replace dash cluster which also is a safety problem. I these safety problems with the Silverados are be ignored. My question is how many people had be affected or injured by these problems?.

My airbag light has been on for 2 years. The dealer wants $100. 00 just to look at it. I dont have funds so I have been checking for the recall to be sure. I was sent a notice from tk holdings inc. And have filled out a claim but still dont know if I qualify. It showed on one website that there is a recall so I would rather be safe than sorry not to go the full route and be sure my truck's airbag is safe.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer writes in regards to improperly functioning airbags. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer three times, all within the month of June for the same safety issue regarding the air bags. June 3, 2014, the consumer was told upon picking up the vehicle, the air bag wires under the seat had just been disconnected. They said it was a simple fix of pushing the wires back together. On June 17, 2014, when the consumer picked up the vehicle, the consumer was informed the wires were frayed. On June 20, 2014, the air bag light illuminated, and the vehicle was returned to the dealer.

Started the vehicle fasten seat belt exited the carport started to leave my yard had to stop a go back in house turned the vehicle off removed the key went back in the house came back got in the vehicle fasten seat belt started the vehicle put it in drive and the service air bag light flashed several time we out and came back and will not go back out it will flash several time go out and come back on and stay.

I have a 2009 chevy Silverado 1500. The service airbag light came on when I started the car. I noticed there was a recall on this exact thing in the year and make of my vehicle. My VIN number was not included in the recall. After talking to a chevy representative they indicated the best way to solve this problem was to make a claim because it is the same problem seen in other 2009 chevy Silverados, and my VIN may be accepted through the claim. The vehicle was previously registered in missouri, a state that under the recall of some of these vehicles qualified.

While driving on the interstate my airbag light came on and I am reporting it cause I drive on the interstate for work and I don't want it to explode on me driving on the interstate or get into a wreck and they don't deploy.

As I was pulling up to my drive way , the message on my dash diplay " service airbag " came on with the airbag indicator on. I took it to the dealer ship and they say they could not find and issue. Up till now still have the indicator light on and message on the dash display. Is this a recall known?.

Hit a deer at 47mph on left front of vehicle. Air bag light came on with code b0052 deployment commanded. No air or pretensioner deployed. Contacted gm they sent an inspector out to retrieve crash data from recorder. They contacted me after they received the info from the inspector , and said I needed to take the vehicle to dealer to diagnose concern. There were no codes. They have not told me if there was a problem with the sdm that was replaced.

While driving down the road my service air bag light when on, was told air bags and safety products would not work unless fixed,$500. 00 later done 2yrs later 08/22/14 light is on again?? 30,000 more miles? I never off road and keep my stuff very nice.

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the wiring for the air bag sensor under the passenger seat was failing. The VIN was available. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 50,000.

Abs does not work, light is on the dash. Airbag lights are on the dash and not sure if they are working, tailgate does not latch closed. Key does not always want to turn and we need to move it back and forth before it will start the vehicle.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Consumer would like gm to buy back truck because of design flaws and suspected lemon the consumer stated onstar activated and stated the vehicle had been in an accident. The consumer called onstar to tell them that the vehicle had not been in an accident. The operator asked the consumer were there any lights on the dash. The consumer stated the air bag light was on. The operator attempted to instruct the consumer on how to reset the light, and stated if it didn't clear within two days to call back. When the consumer put the gear into drive and started to go forward, there was a tremendous explosion, dust filled the truck and onstar came on saying the vehicle had been in an accident. They vehicle was towed to the dealership. A week later, the consumer received a call from the dealership stating the explosion was caused by a poor design in the galleys in the floor, they went from the center of the truck to the drivers side door under a rubber mate. One of the galleys went through a rubber grommet which allowed water to leak into a compartment storing very high pressure compact cylinders for the air bag and seat belts. The water caused corrosion on the high pressure cylinders and caused the explosion. Also, the tailgate latch would not latch properly. The dealer found the pivots had seized. On cold starts, the transmission would hesitate and then a loud bang was heard. The dealer found a valve body bolt broken.

The air bag light has been constantly on and and I do not know if the drivers side air bag will deploy in a crash.
