2014 Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer stated that during an automiobile accident the airbags did not deploy. The consumer stated due to the airbags not deploying, the drivers head struck the steering wheel. The driver was knocked unconscious and sustained a contusion and brusing on the forehead. The vehicle had front-end damage and the frame was bent. The consumer was unsure if the airbag recall repair was completed. The consumer requested to be reimbursed for the vehicles repairs, rental car, insurance deductible and other damages.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle that abruptly pulled in front of the contact. The air bags did not deploy. The contact noticed a chemical odor in the vehicle and a fog-like substance in the cabin after the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. I was involved in an accident on 1/15/16 in which I was sideswiped by another vehicle. Upon impact, I had no brakes and no steering control. This caused me to rear end another vehicle and hit a tree head on. The airbags never deployed. I was unable to stop the vehicle or control it. I could have been killed or killed someone else. I am very concerned. I have had the truck in the shop on several occasions with electrical issues, yet the dealership could not find anything or it was minor corrections. Recently I was involved in an accident that was a direct impact. At the time of this accident the seat belt did not lock nor did the air bags deploy. The speed from this accident was between 50-55 mph on the highway. At the rate of speed I was going before the accident and the fact that I had to slam on the breaks to begin slowing down one would have thought the seat belt would have locked but it did not and at the point of impact I was very surprised that the airbags did not deploy but yet the system indicated that it did and needed to be reset. However now that the vehicle is in process of being repaired I am being told that the entire airbag system has to be replaced along with the driver seat belt.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v324000 (air bags). The contact stated that the vehicle was involved in a crash. The contact stated that while at the stop light, another vehicle that was driving at about 50 mph crashed into the rear of her vehicle. The air bag had not deployed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was driven home. Later, the contact stated that the dashboard had cracked about two to three inches in length. The vehicle mileage was 125,000. Bd.

I was stopped at a red light and struck from behind by another smaller vehicle pushing me into a minivan in front of me. On initial impact, the drivers seat was dislodged from the mounting frame. When I hit the minivan in front of me, the airbags did not deploy and my shoulder seat restraint did not engage causing my eye to strike the steering wheel. I have nerve damage as a result of the seat belt not engaging and the airbags not deploying. The vehicle sustained enough damage, including frame damage, that it was considered a total loss. It was 6 weeks old at the time of the incident. I was the only person in the accident who required medical attention. I believe the seat mounting failed, the airbags failed to properly deploy and the shoulder restraint significantly failed. I have pictures indicating the seatbelt fully extended, but did not engage, and will no longer retract. State farm is holding the vehicle pending a possible investigation by NHTSA.

The airbag warning light has come on for no apparent reason. The GMC dealership has stated that there is no recall associated with this defect, but shouldn't a safety item like your airbag warning light coming on be covered under a lifetime warranty? just doesn't make sense that this critical safety feature on all newer vehicles should be covered. So does it mean the airbags will not deploy if I'm in an accident, or is it just a malfunctioning dashboard warning light that has come on? I know my model truck is older (2004) but something like this I should think would be covered. Have there been many complaints with this happening in chevy trucks?.

Car pulled out from gas station into path of my vehicle striking it in left rear quarter panel and left rear wheel. My truck spun to the left striking a semi truck totaled my truck heavy front end damage. Injury to my stepson who was the driver. Air bags never deployed nor did seat belts keep him in place allowing him to hit his head on the roof of the truck cab.

I was driving the vehicle at normal speeds and I have had this vehicle for about 6 months and never have had a problem with it. All the sudden I get a message that says "service air bag". I took the truck to the dealer and they diagnosed it and they said that the truck needs a new front drivers side impact sensor that went bad. This truck has never been in an accident and the airbags have never been deployed. They told me that if this repair does not get done, if I have an accident the airbags wouldn't deploy.

Vehicle was involved in headon colision that totaled it. Other vehicle was an older model van, do not know extent of damages to it. My concern is the air bags did not deploy was told by gm that crash did not meet criterior for deployment!!!!! a head on colision at 50 mph that totaled 2500 series chevy truck. Railroad hyrail vehicle equipped, after market, with hyrail wheel assemblies which allow the vehicle to operate on railroad tracks. Once hyrail (flanged) wheels are retracted, the vehicle is operated over the highways and public roads like any other vehicle. On 7/27/12 near eagle nest, az a railroad employee was operating vehicle on the railroad tracks when it struck a standing train at 38 mph. Airbags did not deploy and rail employee was killed. Concern is that the installation of hyrail wheel assemblies might be impacting the airbag sensor. The hyrail wheel assemblies extend approx. One foot of steel framework ahead of the front and rear bumpers. The placement of these assemblies might inadvertently be affecting airbag deployment in crashes on the railroad track and on public roads.

My 2006 Silverado 2500 hd air bag did not deploy during my accident on July 28, 2010. I tried sending all information in the mail but, you just sent it back to me. Coping that was sent to me from general motors of their explaination of they are not the ones responsible for this because they didn't make this product. Water comes into vehicle through third stop light and causes electrical problems which makes service air bag light to turn and this causes vehicle to shut down my concern is air bag failure to deploy or not to deploy when needed.
