Air Brake Abs Warning Light Problems of Chevrolet Silverado

- the contact has a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated that when he stops at a stop light the abs system engages. The contact also stated that the vehicle presently has an odometer reading of 41,000 miles. The parking brake failed at 40,000 miles. The contact stated that there is a safety recall on these two features for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. However, his VIN was not included under the safety recall.

Abs sensor malfuction on Silverado - vehicle has difficult time stopping at low speed and abs light is illuminated.

1) abs brake light coming on 2) light repeatedly comes on 3) currently not fixed. Dealership claims no recalls for situation.

I to have had multiple problems with the brake /abs system. Right know it is non functionable because of a $1500 failure of the pump/ebcm. The stopping distance is horrible and the failure of gm to acknowledge and repair the engine noise(piston slap)is unacceptable.

I own a 2500hd w/duramax diesel. It has frame beaming defects. Defect was present from the start but was not identified till about 20,000 mi. Truck tearing up tires,vibrating,difficult to steer and getting worse along with developing other problems. Gm has lied and tried to hide that there really is a defect. They would not present any TSB's or any other info reguarding when asked. The truck was vibrating so bad the other night I just all of a sudden blew the r&r tire and almost hit a rock embankment. Tires had less than 18000 miles on them . I bought 2 more just to try to be safe and get there. Please help with any info or advice, anything!.

When shutting vehicle off abs motor continues to run and overheats.

Loud humming from under drivers side of truck with engine off. Abs light on when truck started. Pulled 60 amp fuse for abs to stop humming. Problem seems to be corrosion on a circuit located under the truck. Abs now not functional and brake warning lights stay on after fuse was pulled. Vehicle now without antilock brakes. * faulty connection happend about 800 miles over extended warranty and dealer would'nt even discuss covering it.

Abs system on the vehicle is not working properly due to a faulty module. Dealer was notified. Ph.

There were pulsating coming from the brake pedal causing him to go into a brick wall. Please furnish additional information. Dealer is aware of the problem. Ph.

Abs has performed erratically over life of truck, including not stopping numerous times on bumpy road surface. Apparently general motors is aware ofissue with faulty design of unit, but refuses to accept responsibility. Will they accept the responsibility when someone dies becuase of their neglect? will the NHTSA accept responsibility for not assisting in the protection that they say they are providing? why are failing components of this magnitude allowed to remain on these vehicles without any justification?.

Anti-lock brake light comes on frequently and as a result the anti-lock brakes don't work. After two trips to the dealer, was told two different components could be at fault, each cost between $650-750 to repair and that they weren't sure which component was at fault.
