My 2003 extended cab truck has the seat belt built into the seat. I complained that it squeaked so they ordered a new belt assembly, but when they went to replace it they found the seat frame was broken. They ordered a new on but when I talked to them they said it is something they see a lot because of over torque at the factory. I feel this is a major safety issue as my wearing the seat belt would not have helped in an acciddent if the frame was already broken.

Consumer received recall notification about front seat belt retractors consumer took vehicle in for replacement seat belts, but when she got the vehicle back she states the seat belts did not fit properly, consumer states she is constantly pulling seat belt out of her throat, before the repair there were no problems with the belt sliding into her neck and choking her, consumer states she spends most of her time pulling the seat belt away from her, consumer went back to dealership to try and get the old seat belts back and dealership told her that the reason for the recall was because people were complaing that the seat belt was too tight and it limited their movement, she was told by dealership that they did not know where her old seat belts were and that she could purchase a clip that might help the problem with the seat belt cutting across her throat, consumer does not believe that she should have to pay for a clip, because of a design flaw with their seat belts (daughter on behalf of mother).
Seatbelt sysem is not designed for people over 6. 6" tall. In an accident, it could cause injury to consumer's back. The consumer had contacted the manufacture if adapter device or other seat options was available for tall persons, but the answer was none to both. Then, the consumer asked if the manufacture would buy back the vehicle the answer was they would not. The vehicle does not meet the safety requirements for the consumer's height and the manufacturer should be held responsible to solve the problem.

I went to exit my vehicle, in park, when I bumped the #2 memory seat setting on door. The seat went all the way forward. I was unsuccessful at getting it to stop or go in reverse while it was moving forward. It was hard to get out of the seat. My ribs were sore for 1 day. The seat was never programmed before this. I believe this is a dangerous factory setting. I called Chevrolet customer assistance and they were useless.

Also, seat track locks too close to airbag, and will intermittently unlock. Track has been replaced 3 times.

In discussing our problem with other owners for gm pu's we have found that in '97 & '99 models the front ends come welded and if not brought back within certain amt of milage dealer will not fix. Ours was out of aligment upon driving off lot the first time. Dealer said to drive about 1,000 mi. To break in and bring back and will fix. Called for appt. For seat belt and front end alignment, took in, seat belt partially fixed, had to order pts. This has been 8 months ago and pt for seatbelt still not in, also did not get alignment, they were running behind, was there 3 hrs, had to go to work, could not wait. Next time called for appt. Milage was above what dealer would fix. Took to modica bros. Sisbee, TX. And cost $119. 95. These trucks are arriving to dealers from mfg. This way, discussed in length with many people with same problem. This is a gm gimick, I think all owners should demand that this be corrected. I own a '94 chev. Pu and never has been aligned with 125,000 mi. On it. Does not have to be this way. I want gm to refund everyones money who does not have time to set for alignment when it should be right in first place and hold up more than 3,000 mil. This is a disgrace, not to account for the wearing out of your tires. Please reply back to me b. Morrispnx. Com.
Seatbelt on passenger side is too short won't fasten over passenger's.
This vehicle was rebuilt and the dealer tells me it has a "warranty block" on the VIN. I understand why this is done but I am told that this also blocks any recall campaign work from being done under warranty. This vehicle has not had any campaign work done to it. Is it legal for gm to not pay for the repairs to the brake system and seat belt system on this truck?.
Passenger's side restraint ratchets back, and does not allow passenger enough room. The seat belt had been replaced twice, but still tightens up and is uncomfortable and dangerous.
Consumer does not use the seat belt system. When the seat belts are interlocked they tighten up so tight that the consumer cannot move. They have replaced seat belt system, and the new one also doesn't work . The dealer has been contacted.
