Chevrolet Silverado owners have reported 3 problems related to tail light (under the exterior lighting category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
: the contact stated the brake pedal became hard to depress at 5-10 mph. A new wheel speed sensor was installed in 2002, but the problem returned. There is a NHTSA recall, # 05v379000, regarding the antilock brakes. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however, it is not included in the recall due to the VIN. Both frnt hub sensors were defective, they were both replaced on each side. Also,replaced rear tail lamp.

Consumer's 3rd tailight short circuited. Light bulb that was replaced seemed burned at the socket. Consumer had to order a $48 base & there seemed to be an electrical problem.

Consumer was trying to change tail lights & found that the manufacturer tightened too much the brackets which made it crack. Dealer & manufacturer will only repair vehicle at consumers expense. Vehicle is under warranty.
