Tl- the contact owns 2009 Chevrolet Silverado equipped with goodyear wrangler tires, line size (235/80/r17) dot pjab35hv4109. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph the rear driver side tire blew out. The contact stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of the road. The tire was replaced. The contact inspected the other tires and noticed bubbles on the front and rear passenger side tires. The contact had all four tires replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure stated the tires would be inspected by an engineer. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000. Pmb.

Tire blows bubble on sidewall, needs to be replaced but goodyear will only warranty a prorated discount towards purchase of same tire. Happened a second time on different tire June 2, 2008. Tire is at local goodyear dealership awaiting decision on what happens next.

Contact stated the tread separated from the rear driver side tire, almost causing loss of control of the vehicle. The driver side rear fender was damaged because of the tread separation. Consumer was not aware of any indication that there was a problem with the tire. Two months prior to the incident the tires were rotated. At that time, there were no problems with the tires. The tires have not been inspected by a certified firestone dealer. The vehicle was purchased new in 2001, the tires were the original ones on the vehicle. On original tire had to be replaced because it developed a bubble in its sidewall.
