I own a 2022 chevy silverado with a 6. 2 liter engine. I had the original engine up until approx 80k in mileage when it failed, I was on a dark country road doing approximately 50mph and the propulsion system failed and the truck shut off, being a country road, I had minimum breaking and minimal steering. I had my [xxx] son in the car, we ended up in a culvert and I scraped either a large rock or a piece of concrete that sometimes line culverts, it did damage. At the time, until recently, I had no idea I should report this. I did know that gm had issued a recall and I believed the engineer would be covered, which it was. I never reported the damage to insurance as I didn't want my ins to go up anymore, so I have not fixed it yet. My [xxx] old was scared beyond belief. Anyhow, williams chevy in elkton, MD replaced the engine free of any cost. I believe the dates are approx to be 9/26 to 10/25/ 2025. On or about 11/25 or 26th 2025, with approx 2k miles on the newly installed 6. 2 liter engine, while traveling with my [xxx] son, I experienced another catastrophic engine failure. This time we were traveling on 896 in delaware and rt 40. While crossing over, the car cut off completely again while traveling at 50mph. We barely avoided a collision on the other side of the intersection with merging traffic, I applied the manuel breaks along with the power steering was out too. My spouse was angry that gm is still doing this knowing this could be the result. Upon the 2nd installation, I dropped the truck off on the above date. It took until 1/5/26 bor approx 1/9/26. On approx 2/12/26 I had the oil changed at a local jiffy lube. This was conducted at 3400 miles, less than the manufacturer suggests with the new 40w oil. Anyhow, yet again, my truck had zero rewarding on the dipstick. I have paperwork for both engine installs and the jiffy lube paperwork documenting the no reading on the dip stick. I have a 2024 Silverado 1500 z71. I purchased new, within the first month I started experiencing issues related to the fuel. Stalling, dying, missing at idle and failing to start. I’ve reported it to the dealerships, with the same response unable to duplicate. Sept 22, 2025 I was driving alone rounding a curve in the road when my vehicle lost complete power causing me to loose control crashing into trees. I was unharmed physically, but mentally this hurt. To know this all could have been avoided had chevy customer service or the dealerships listen and looked at the dtc that were clearly shown. P3187 fuel pump pressure performance low pressure. Stated failed since last cleared. Dealership did not acknowledge or discuss with me this dtc. Instead they gave me a multi point inspection stating unable to duplicate. There negligence caused me to wreck.

Engine shut off while driving ,and would not start again . Upon inspection from gm dealer they stated the high pressure fuel pump. Cam shaft and lifters need to be replaced . . . There was no sign of failure prior to shut down.

One day when headed out of town I stopped and got gas immediately once getting back on the highway my dash lit up like a christmas tree, driving became uncomfortable as it sputtered when trying to give gas. I looked up a couple of the dash warning lights and it alluded to emission problems. I take the truck to the mechanic and he says that a head is cracked and the cam shaft needs to be repaired. This issue came out of nowhere, no prior issues as far as over heating or any dash lights on.

I was slowing down when coming upon another vehicle. When I accelerated there was no power and I realized the engine had stalled. I was in the outer lane of 3 lanes of heavy traffic and was able to coast into a parking lot and stop. Luckily I was in the outer lane and in the right place at the right time to be able to get out of traffic. I got a text message instantly from onstar saying to have the engine and transmission serviced immediately. The engine would not start. I called my dealership and told them what happened. They gave me a phone number for a tow service who towed the truck to their dealership garage. I had no prior messages or symptoms that the engine was going to fail. The dealership removed the faulty fuel pump module and replaced the fuel pump control module. I feel very fortunate that my wife and I were at a place where we could exit the highway and get help quickly.

On [xxx] at around [xxx], the vehicle a fee a metal clinking noise then suddenly lost power and stalled in the middle of the road([xxx] , del Mar, CA 92014). After stepping on the gas pedal a couple times, there was no response and no power. The dashboard displayed "engine and transmission problem" and contacted dealership immediately. Fuel pump control module failure very dangerous truck stalled in middle of road and was almost hit by 18 wheeler internet is full of module failures someone is going to get killed.

Code p0307 misfire on cylinder 7. Have gotten code 3 times in last month. Lights on dash and reduced power. Less than 50k miles when first occurred. Turn off and back on all lights gone except for engine light which goes off in a day then runs fine. Dealer quoted $3k+ to replace injectors. $60k+ for a new vehicle it should last more than 2 years and 50k miles. 5 yr 60k mile engine and power train warranty but they pick and choose what components to cover. After looking online I see many owners with same issues. Some with hardly any miles. Other recalls done with different motor sizes. Help!!!.

When my speed decreases to slow for a turn, traffic, red light,etc-I lose complete power in my entire vehicle. A too fast message pops up on dash about stabilitrak. If I throw it in neutral fast enough it’s fine, but if I don’t, my truck loses all power and I have to open and close my door, restart my truck, the dash tells me to open and close my driver window, and it drives again but my time and date restarts on my dash screen like I disconnected the battery. It doesn’t happen every day. But when it does, it’s scary because I can’t get out of the road. This occurs unexpectedly several times a month for the past few months. I’ve checked for loose battery cables, etc.

Hard jerking while driving clunks while driving shifts rough really bad when driving changes gears its an automatic stalls at lights runs rough jumps forward has no power at times brakes fail when stopping lunges when breaking dealership and manufacture know about this its been to dealership over 9 times same problem.

Our truck would not start, we had to have it towed twice. We had a s diagnostic run and the code was for the fuel pump. We had the truck towed to a local mechanic and they mentioned the open recall on fuel pumps for our make, model and year. We tried to schedule the appointment at the dealership for recalls, but our VIN was not on the list.

At 62000 miles, I was having a transmission problem but had no check engine lights associated with the issue. The day I took it to the dealership for the transmission, the check engine light came on for the first time ever when I started the vehicle. The dealership first said it was a faulty solenoid on the purge valve, replaced that part, but it didn’t fix the problem. The dealership then said it needed a new fuel pump control module, which was heavily back ordered due to demand. I needed the vehicle because it had already been at the dealership for a transmission replacement for many weeks and is my only transportation. The dealership told me other vehicles were there for the same problem, parts were on a national back order and being rationed to dealerships around the country. They could not provide an estimate for when my vehicle would be ready and pushed me to trade in my vehicle as a solution. The sales manager offered a very low trade in value, told me I couldn’t get the part faster by purchasing it myself, and was very pushy. She said my vehicle was devalued because it didn’t have the fuel pump control module needed for the check engine light to turn off, and had a history of transmission problems (even though it just got a new transmission). I got frustrated and ordered the new gm part from summit racing and had it on my doorstep in two days. I took it to the dealership and all of a sudden they had received a shipment of this part, and replaced the faulty one in my vehicle. Their repair resolved the problem, but I still had reliability concerns. Despite all repairs being completed, the sales manager said the vehicle trade in value remained unchanged. It was a complete nightmare and I felt my vehicle was being held back from repair resolution to convince me to trade it in for a new truck. I kept my vehicle and extra part I ordered in case this happens again.

When it gets hot it'll lose power at the pedal and it will randomly come back causing the drive train to jerk back and forth throwing full related codes that go away once the truck has cooled off. Took it to a shop and they couldn't get it to throw a code. This will be the third time it has happened. This time it doesn't throw a code.

Lose of power at the pedal again not even 15 mins later. Still no code. Just extremely frustrating.

The fuel pump went out, left me stranded and was replaced the transmission went out and was replaced. The lifters in the engine were replaced. When will the engine recall be addressed/acted on? the "cure" to install heavier engine oil is a very bad "bandaid". . . . Truly masks the problem. Maybe the chevy ceo should return her 2024 $25mm bonus to help pay for the repairs.

The vehicle shots forward after some delayed acceleration.

Gm is recalling the fuel injector flow rate system but is unwilling to fix damaged parts from the flow rate being off. My engine has misfiring, pitted cam, camshaft lobe wear, valves and needs a new head stemming from the fuel injector flow rate being off. Gm is refusing to support their product. This is a known issue gm is having with these engines.

No updates have been made to fix recall. Status has been pending for a long and it’s preventing me from selling the car due to fear of breaking down.

On Tuesday we pulled out into traffic and the truck shuddered and I heard a pop. The air conditioner went out and then a plethora of warnings along with the service engine light popped up on the dash. The brakes stopped working and the truck went into a low idle almost causing the vehicle behind us to rear end us. Error messages were as follows: brake failure do not go above 62mph, trailer brake failure, steering column needs serviced, service ecs and several others. I was able to get the vehicle back home and called for service at green chevy in peoria, IL I was able to shut the vehicle off and restart it and all error codes were gone. I spoke with the dealer and took it to them. They advised it was a module issue and would reprogram it. It took 2 days and my vehicle is back.

Excessive fuel smell at vehicle. Fire hazard in enclosed garage area. Found top of fuel sending unit rusted out and leaking fuel.

Def system will count miles down saying it is going to put you into limp mode while towing, when there is 3/4 plus def fluid in the tank. This caused me several times speed slow downs under 65 to try to make it to a safe place to add under 2 gallons to fill a 5 plus gallon tank on 70 to 80 mph highways a few times at dusk and night with limited off off travel lane access! this is telling you it will put your vehicle in limp mode! again causing a dangerous situation! I very much feared for my well-being along a dark road with cars going 70 plus while I was trying to add def to a 3/4 full tank only taking around 2 gallons!!.

July, 10 2025 my 2021 chevy silverado has stalled today in the middle of the road. When trying to start, it sounds like if it wants to turn over but it won’t. I bought a brand new battery and problem is not resolved. I did some digging and sounds like fuel pump will not come on. This truck is only 4 years old and I should be having these issues. Please help thanks.

I went to drive my truck and it would start but I got a “ service power steering no assist “, service rear vision camera, service trailer brake system. Then it wouldn’t start and got the “ lost communication with fuel pump control module, back up camera was flashing in and out and license plate lights would flash with turn signal on.

No remedy available putting myself and my family at risk.

TSB pip5776. 87000 miles failed. Dealer quote ($9,000) to repair lifter and bent camshaft. Gm said they aren't helping and my next step is get a attorney. Mention 10% “goodwill” offer and lifter collapse + bent cam.

While driving down the road I let off the accelerator to start applying brakes for a red light I was approaching, then the vehicle shut completely off and down shifted hard. After that it restarted a second later but had no power steering and no brakes. At this point I was approaching the red light with no brakes and power of my vehicle, the other traffic had a green light now and was crossing my lane of travel but I was luckily able to make it through the light in between vehicles without causing any harm to myself or others. After making it through the light I was rolling 10mph still helpless but seen a gas station on my right and rolled into their parking lot and drove towards a curb and used the curb to stop my vehicle. The vehicle had the following warning lights and messages: lane change alert system off, brake system failure 62mph top speed, service traction control, service esc, and trailer brakes disabled service required. I then got the vehicle towed to the dealership while still on and in the running position with all the codes still active. The dealer was able to scan the truck in and see the codes but told me they wouldn’t be able to get to it till the following week so they parked the vehicle and turned it off. When they got to my vehicle the following week they sent me a text and said I quote “hey ****** its **** from chevy, I do not have the best news lol he can not get it to act up and there are no current codes he has driven and nothing has happened, as of now there is nothing further he can do”. After receiving that text I called them to just be told they can’t get it to do it again and there is nothing they can do. But I told them I refuse to pick up this vehicle because it had a critical safety issue. This vehicle suffered a catastrophic failure, brakes and steering were lost in an intersection. If not diagnosed properly, this poses a threat to life.

I was driving on the freeway and smelled gasoline in the cab. I thought nothing of it as I was near a wreck and thought it was from that. About 10 miles down the road I was stopped in traffic and noticed my miles until empty was slowly declining as I was stopped. When I moved forward there was a puddle under my truck. I pulled to the side of the road and fuel was draining from the back of my engine all over the exhaust. I immediately shut the truck off. I cannot believe the gas didn't ignite as those catalytic converters get well over 536°. The truck was towed to the closest Chevrolet dealer over 10 days ago and I have yet to hear anything from them. I bought the truck used from another Chevrolet dealer 3 weeks prior, and it has had the l87 recall.

2015 5. 3 with afm related failure / lifter collapse still within warranty by mileage (5 yrs, 100,000 miles I think), out by years in service, was diagnosed by a gm authorized dealership by a gm master certified technician and under the supervision of service manager. Issue description on 6/18/2025, the dealership diagnosed a failure in the #7 lifter due to afm / afm related failure / lifter collapse. The vehicle’s engine, diagnosed at approximately 58,000 miles and minimal idle hours. While the gm master technician is confident that only one side of lifters require immediate replacement, there is a possibility of damage to the camshaft lobe, which cannot be inspected without significant additional labor. There is also a concern about potential metal contamination in the oil, which could further impact the engine’s performance. I also have many documented repair orders indicating my concern with the transmissions performance.

Check engine light is on, code reads emissions fail due to the evaporative emissions leak detection pump. ( evap purge pump underspeed) p1467. I see this was a recall on several Chevrolet vehicles but not yet on mine.

Engine was making noise and ultimately stopped responding when I would push the gas, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. Luckily, I was able to get the vehicle off the road in time to not cause an accident. The vehicle could have stalled and seized up in the middle of the highway. This problem has been confirmed by the dealer in the attached work order invoices. It has not been inspected by anyone other than the mountain Chevrolet dealership, to my knowledge. The dealership has the vehicle running again, but is not able to confirm if the 'new' engine in my vehicle is the one address the recall issue, reference number n252494000. Additionally, this vehicle broke down again two months later for a related issue per the additional service invoice attached. For all of these, gm has not been willing to pay for the full value of the rentals for each service, totaling over 60 days without my vehicle. I've requested this through the gm customer care to no avail. I would also like to receive confirmation that the 'repaired' engine in my vehicle resolves this open recall concern. I've been stranded on the side of the road twice now with this newer vehicle and would love some assurance from them. At a minimum I want gm to pay for the full value of the rental cars. For the record, I also requested gm buy-back the vehicle which they have rejected my request. Any help you can provide is appreciated. Thank you.

I am writing because we received a 2nd recall letter about our 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 zr2. It has the recall for the catastrophic engine failure and neither gm or Chevrolet seem interested in helping us. The Chevrolet representative from the bbb said yesterday that we did not qualify for any thing, no buy back and no financial compensation. She has been the only person who did not try to straight up lie about the engine just dead stopping. We had that issue on [xxx], while on the way to hickory, nc for a doctors appointment for my husband. He is a [xxx]. He served in iraq and afghanistan. [xxx]. He has to maintain a strict schedule, every thing done at the same time every day. Meals, showers, chores, bedtime etc. It calms him. I didn’t want him to buy a chevy truck, but he fell instantly in love with it. He added a bed cover, 3in lift kit, tinted windows, 20in wheels and tires. A chip that opens up the horsepower and a cold air intake. He bought the truck new in July 2023, from pioneer chevy in abingdon va. So we are moving right along until 17 miles from morganton nc when the truck just stopped. We were on the back mountain road so no one was behind us. My husband was able to get the truck in neutral and roll it to a place where we could get off the road. We waited about 2 hours for a tow to everett Chevrolet. They would not let us have a loaner car so the tow driver took us to enterprise & waited to make sure we got a car. So none of this keeps him on his schedule. We went back to the chevy place where the service manager said it would be the next day before he could look at the truck. He did tell us that the truck had the engine failure recall. We had no idea until then. Thankfully the doctor held a place for us, our appointment was at 11:45am but we didn’t get there till around 3:00. We saw the doctor, got food & headed home to TN. And I started contacting anyone information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

P146b (evap purge pump system performance) engine code started occurring around 50,000 miles. This is similar to the recall for 2019-2020 chevy silverado, Cadillac xt4, and GMC sierra 1500 covered by n202324990.

Engine started making clicking noise when accelerating. Followed by a large screeching noise. Dash read "shift to neutral and start again" pulled to stop and tried to start. Does not crank at all.
