In light of the recalls for other silverado fuel pumps, I believe an investigation should be initiated for vehicles like mine that are part of the same manufacturer but were not part of the original recall. Right when this recall was announced my silverado which is in excellent condition and has only 73,000 miles on it has a failing fuel pump, communicated by a check engine light and coded for the fuel pump failure. According to my dealer the cost to replace is almost 2,000 dollars. A fuel pump in a heavy duty truck should not fail after only 73000 miles.

The engine light is blinking while driving on the highway, it comes and goes, I have a video for that. Also it has a ticking noise and I’ve had the noise since I bought the truck and took it multiple times to the dealership, first it was the pump they replaced for free but the ticking never went away, I took it back and they said that all the trucks tick like that, and all that should be documented. Also while sitting still it sounds like the truck is shacking just a little. I have an appointment to which I have to pay $250 for them just to look at it. I think that my truck should be up under the new recall for the 2021 chevy silverado because my truck is knocking and also throwing off a blinking engine light.

I was going 70 in the fast lane on the interstate near birmingham, al; when my 2024 silverado lost propulsion, electrical and power steering. I was forced to move 3 lanes over to the emergency lane or wreck off to the left. When it lost propulsion I lost turn signals and power steering. They are going to attempt to fix it, but engines are on backorder. Regardless if it is fixed, the thing almost killed me. There's no way I'm going to be driving that thing. This issue was confirmed at the dealership and no warning lights came up on the screen prior to losing propulsion.

While merging onto the fast lane of the highway I experienced a "press push start to restart" alarm and total loss of power as I went to accelerate and merge with traffic. It was almost like the truck was in neutral but pedal would not even increase the rmp. There was no shoulder and I was forced to stop and restart my vehicle between the onramp and the fast lane. Im fortunate to not have ended up in a bad rear end accident. It did the same a half mile later where atleast I had a shoulder to pull off onto this time. Check engine light threw up a camshaft position sensor fault.

Gm is not handle this recall in a timely manner. They are refusing to inspect vehicle to see of there are any defects. This is concerning, as based on the recall notice, the engine may fail at anytime. This could cause a crash or leave me or my wife stranded on some road. My dealer would do the inspection but to do the inspection but they said they are not allowed until I have gotten "permission" from gm. This is a safety concern for me and my family and gm is not handling this appropriately. An immediate inspection should be done ensuring if the vehicle is safe to drive.

Issues with def system. Fuel and def tank is filled up. Within 100 miles of towing the def system states def is empty and speed will be limited within 500 miles. At the time the message appears on screen, fuel mileage goes from 13ish mpg to 8 mpg. Try to add def and only able to add close to a gallon of def. System has a hard time recalculating the amount of def in system.

Vehicle has been at dealership multiple times for the same issues and the cant figure it out. Constantly p303 codes. On highway doing 65-70 and truck starts to shutter and drop speed swerving down to about 40mph on highway in traffic. Have to pull to shoulder and restart vehicle.

My husband was driving our family truck onto the highway to merge into traffic, when he lost all engine power, several dash lights turned on, and a clanking noise started. This was an extremely dangerous situation because the truck stalled, while trying speed up into highway traffic. He swerved to avoid cars and pulled off to the right shoulder. This a major safety issue because if either of my teenage daughters had been driving the truck, they would likely not have been able to avoid an accident! mechanics confirmed the truck had suffered a catastrophic engine failure while driving. The dealership confirmed a lifter failed causing the damage. They said the whole engine had to be replaced. Gm offered to pay half of cost, proving they know this is an issue. The truck's not even 5 years old, so the fact that engine would just stop while driving, when we had kept up with regular maintenance, sounded bizarre to me. I researched online and learned of 2 class action lawsuits (CA & mi) claiming gm knows about this defect in their engine and continuing to sell trucks with the same safety issue. Not more than 2 weeks after our incident, hundreds of thousands of the 6. 3l engines were recalled after a NHTSA investigatio. Gm has issued several service bulletins internally on "failing lifters", but has not told the public of the safety hazard. The service bulletins acknowledge the issue, recommending gm mechanics use a lighter oil (sae-0w20 instead of the customary sae-0w40) or change the oil more frequently. (service update n212353840). But car owners don't know this! gm is putting lives at risk, as no one expects their engine to completely give out while on the highway. Thankfully, my husband has been driving for 35 years. Had it been a younger, more inexperienced driver, they would not have been able to recover from the engine failure, especially while merging into high speed traffic - causing a crash, injuries and possibly death. The public deserves to know.

The symptoms since the beginning of 2024 have been that when braking between 7 and 10 mph, you feel a bump or a skid, and when you stop, the engine shakes for a moment as if it's going to shut off. This happens with the auto stop-start off. A sudden braking moment can affect the vehicle's performance, making it difficult to control and increasing the risk of accidents, especially when it comes to a pickup truck that may have a trailer with cargo or objects in the bed that can be thrown. The trailer can even leave the road, losing control of the car. In 2024, I took the truck to the place where I bought it, bomnin Chevrolet dadeland, for a checkup. I explained all the symptoms to my advisor, just as I do here. I had to take it to wait for a loaner. A few days later, I took it back, and they had it for almost a week. When I picked it up, my advisor told me everything was fine. When I left the dealership, I found the same symptoms, so I went back and told him the car was still doing the same thing, and he told me it was normal. After much insistence, he got in the car with me to show him the problem, and the car did it several times, but according to him, it was normal. Now, in 2025, a week ago I took it to miami lakes auto mall to get checked out with the same symptoms and explanation. I started investigating why that couldn't possibly be normal car operation. They found they had to replace the torque converter and valve body because they found an excessive amount of metal in the transmission. The valve body is on back order indefinitely at all dealerships, so I had to take the car in that condition. Before taking it, I spoke with the manager and gm to ask them to give me a car until they fixed mine because it wasn't right for me to drive the car like that. But they didn't offer me anything. I took it back to bomnin Chevrolet dadeland and they told me they were going to change the transmission and torque converter and conveniently they didn't have to change the valve.

I was in stop and go traffic, the truck engine turned off I could not get it to crank. I was stuck in the middle of a busy road for at least an hour until the tow truck driver got there. Since the truck has electric shifting for the transmission, I could not get the truck into neutral to at-least push it to a safe place. I was informed by the dealership that there is no neutral override unless the vehicle is running. The shifting and fuel system “fuel module” failure is a know problem from gm and need to be recalled. If this would have happened on the interstate I don’t think the outcome would be great. The truck is a little over 1 year old and has under 15,000 miles. Very dangerous situation.

I stopped at street light, automatic fuel management system shut off engine. As engine restarted I experienced several dash lights came on. The engine light continued to blink and e light stayed on. Immediately went to dealer, 1 mile away. Computer said cylinder 5 was misfiring. Upon repair the lifter was bent and the cam shaft was damaged. Repairs were over $7,000. 00. Truck had oil changes on time, all performed by the dealer. Truck had 67,000. 00 miles. Repairs have been completed.

I was driving into a parking doing less than 10 mph trying to angle park my truck. Suddenly my truck accelerated violently hitting another vehicle in the parking lot in the right rear and turning it around. Was hitting the brakes to no avail. Truck continued to accelerate and I aimed for a sign support pole while depressing the brakes as hard as I could. Truck hit the pole and the air bag deployed. Front of my truck was caved in and the truck was ruled unrepairable by my insurance company. I could have been badly injured or killed but thankfully sign support pole stopped me. Have a police report but was unable to scan it to my pc so I said there was no report.

Date of purchase [xxx]. Date of incident [xxx]. I was on my way to work at [xxx] and it was raining . Truck would not accelerate more than 45 miles an hour speed limit is 65 on the freeway. Engine light turned on and all the dashboard icons turned on. Drove it to the nearest dealership tom bell Chevrolet in redlands CA. Once I put vehicle in park it would not start. The message on the dashboard board displayed something like unable to access. So I went to see if service center open since it was [xxx]. He instructed me to drive around I said it will be not go into motion. After 15 minutes I checked the status on my phone and it did not display anything wrong so I went ahead and turned it on and drove it to the service center but once again it would not accelerate and shock vigorously. Once in the service line it turned off and did not stay on. Dealership ran diagnostics he mentioned cylinder and piston but they need to run more test. He called me back 2/14/25 asked if I had taken it to the dealership where I bought since purchased I said no it’s brand new, it looks tampered with . Called me back again and said this vehicle had a motor recall and a technician at riverside chevy worked on it and all the components are not connected we can work on it it need to go back to them and they need to explain what is wrong. He sent them a video of the tech looking at everything that was wrong. Truck was towed to riverside Chevrolet [xxx]. This is a brand new vehicle that only had 17 miles when purchased by me ,at the moment it has 709 miles non of the components of this vehicle are new anymore they are either melted or rattling inside ,the gas tank sounded like empty cans rolling around, the transmission would not make the vehicle move. It is called lean mode if I’m being correct the vehicle was protecting it self from what I don’t know, so yes I feel it is unsafe and would like your help with this vehicle matter at your earliest possible conve information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5.

On Feb 10, 2025 while in busy mid-day traffic on the highway going 55mph my vehicle without any warning signs or warning messages on dash, or dash indicator lights suddenly went into limp mode , began making a loud knocking from the engine, and started shutting down. I stopped the vehicle as soon as I safely could do so and had it towed back to the selling dealer for them to diagnose the issue. The dealer then informed me that I had a bent lifter on the left bank but they did this based on codes and not any tear down. They referred me to another local dealer. I had my vehicle towed there where they also stated lifter. Once they began to replace the lifters on the left bank scarring was found on my #3 cylinder wall and at that point I was told that my truck had catastrophic engine failure and the engine would have to be replaced. They also told me that my truck had no oil in it and the issue was caused from carbon build up. I have had every maintenance service performed on time and at the selling dealer and have all service records. I was not overdue on maintenance. I have never been told about any oil leaks or any other issues that needed to be resolved on my vehicle. I had driven the truck the night before with no issues. . There was no oil on the ground or under the vehicle for them to say there was no oil in the vehicle. I was never told that I needed spark plugs due to carbon. I believe that this has to due with the afm issue that gm is well aware of. I had to purchase another vehicle due to the damage that was found on this required an engine replacement.

The vehicle check engine light came on and a message displayed "reduced acceleration. Drive with care. " my acceleration was very slow but that was the only symptom, although I was driving speeds under 55 mph. I took the vehicle to gm with cel code p078 and they replaced the high pressure fuel rail. Two days later the cel came on again with code p228b. I was driving on the highway when the message came on and I could not accelerate the vehicle. If I tried to push the gas pedal more than halfway, I would lose both speed and power. I could not maintain my highway speed very well and could only accelerate if I slightly pressed the gas pedal. This is a serious safety concern because it may cause an accident if I am not able to maintain speed on the freeway. Additionally, this is of concern because I rely on my vehicle to pull a camper, and with this condition, I would be a "sitting duck" with my family in the vehicle. Gm continues to diagnosis the issue but has failed to respond in a timeline and satisfactory manner.

Gm previously issued emission recall n212351211 (March 7, 2023) for other diesel silverado models regarding improper ecm detection of nox sensor faults. The issue in my vehicle appears functionally identical, yet this engine and model were not included in that recall. The sensor was replaced and reprogrammed at a Chevrolet dealership at the owner’s expense. After contacting Chevrolet, a customer retention check was provided, covering roughly half of the total cost. While appreciated, the remaining cost burden remains significant. If this model is eventually included in the recall, it may allow for full reimbursement and support for other affected owners. Online forums show that many 3. 0l duramax owners are experiencing similar failures, suggesting this may be a widespread and systemic defect. Due to the strong similarities with the recalled condition in other models, I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this recall should be expanded to cover additional affected vehicles. This issue presents both reliability and emissions compliance concerns. In addition, the vehicle developed a separate mechanical/electrical problem shortly after the nox sensor failure. Because it involves different systems, I will file a separate complaint regarding that issue.

On January 17, 2025, I was approaching the entrance ramp unto interstate 10, traveling along at approximately 40 miles an hour, when all of a sudden I noticed that my vehicle started decelerating as I was pressing on the accelerator, trying to merge onto oncoming traffic. The engine started shuttering and vibrating violently! I noticed all the warning lights, gauges and indicators had come on simultaneously! there was a loud clicking sound coming from the engine compartment and backfiring coming from the exhaust. I evaluate the situation at hand and conduct a risk assessment of trying to continue on with this problem but decided to move over to the median. I was almost run into from the rear due to lack of power in which I felt would have been the result of my truck just losing power without any warning. I drove my truck to a Chevrolet dealership after speaking with a service advisor, on January 20, 2025. The truck was diagnosed as needing to replace cam rod and lifters.

Jerking of 1-2 gears. Also in 5-6. Has not been inspected thoroughly by dealer. Was told “it’s just the way these vehicles are. ” merging onto oncoming traffic, I fear for my safety. No warning lights and the jerking/rumble strip feeling is becoming more common than when purchased.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet silverado.  the contact stated while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle lost motive power.  the contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road.   the vehicle was started; however, the vehicle failed to start.  the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel pump.  the contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced.  the vehicle was repaired.  the failure reoccurred; however, the contact disabled the auto-stop feature, and the vehicle independently reset. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.  the failure mileage was approximately 27,512.

The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard an abnormal sound emanating from the rear end suspension. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that fuel leak from the fuel delivery system resulted corrosion of the left side leaf spring grummet. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

There was fuel in the engine oil. Had to replace all of the injectors and the high pressure fuel pump. The shop I had it done at said this is known issue on these trucks - why isnt something being done?.

The auxiliary transmission fuel pump system is prone to failure. This makes it so the start/stop feature will not work, as the vehicle will stall when stopped (causing an unsafe situation), and it cannot pass state inspection. The part is entirely unavailable from chevy, and results in the vehicle being scrapped. There is no way to permanently bypass this system.

Engine light came on, service park brake light came on, truck started jumping and misfiring, code says cylinder 5 misfire.

I was taking a left from a stop sign onto a busy boulevard and as soon as I had passed the median I started losing acceleration and it felt like the transmission or engine was glitching or lugging. The engine began to try restarting itself possibly from the auto start-stop however I was now almost at a dead stop in the left hand lane in the dark. I promptly attempted to turn my hazards on, but they would not turn on while it was trying to start so I held the brake pedal down for light. I tried to turn the truck off and turn it back on however the hazards still did not work, none of the gauges went off when the truck was turned off, ie gas and voltage gauges were stuck. After attempting to put it into park and drive a few times I was finally able to turn the truck off, open the door and close it. At this point I was finally able to get the hazards turned on, however, it seemed like they would not stay on when the truck was trying to start so I could get out of the left hand lane. Fortunately someone stopped and we were able to push the truck off onto the median. After about a dozen attempts, the truck finally started, with the last attempt pumping the gas repeatedly for about twenty seconds. I drove hit for another twenty minutes and it drove okay with the engine light on. Onstar diagnostics mentioned possible fuel pump relay. I will note I did test drive a same year GMC equivalent model, and as the dealer went to gas it up, it would not start again. It ended up being the fuel pump relay.

At start up check engine light, service esc, service parking brake. Code reader shows code p0304 misfire cylinder number 4.

Vehicle cut off while driving down the highway and wouldn’t restart. Had to be towed to dealer with a faulty fuel pump control module.

Wires were improperly installed during assembly, on truck and rubs on a frame which chafes, which causes the protective covering to get rubbed off causing a short circuit on my wiring harness which causes the "check engine light" to stay on constantly. This is a factory mistake yet they want to charge me for the fix. I also have come to know this is getting too common on chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC sierras. Gm needs to correct their factory defect for free. This chafing can happen in three different areas on the trucks. These shorted wires can cause failure of the fuel pumps and leave you on the road when the engine shuts down. Gm knows about these problems but has not acted on this problem. They never mentioned or noted the wiring problem on my repair summary, oct. 23, 24, when they were replacing the torque converter. They showed it to me, but never made note of it. They are going to work on it Monday 12/9/24, I will talk of, who's going to cover the cost of this after it's repaired.

Vehicle goes into reduced power mode and prevents safe acceleration in traffic and is a major safety concern. The coolant control valve is the issue which has been a problem in the silverado for a few years. This part is also on national backorder.

I own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lt trail boss that exhibits strange and persistent issues. A recurring engine code appears p0499, clears itself, and then reappears without consistent resolution. This affects the remote starter as the engine light will be engaged. Additionally, several service warnings flash momentarily and disappear, including: •service trailer brake system •brake system failure – top speed limited to 62 or 43 mph •parking sensor unavailable these warnings occur without warning and vanish too quickly to document fully. Despite multiple visits to the dealership, technicians have been unable to replicate or resolve the problem. This unpredictable behavior creates safety concerns, particularly regarding brake system reliability and sensor functionality. I and many others experiencing these same issues are concerned about a potential electrical or sensor issue impacting vehicle performance and safety.

Hola buenas tardes escribo estas lineas por aqui por que me siento indignado realize una compra DE esta camioneta cash en 90 mil dolares 0km y aun no tengo un año usandola y la he tenido que llevar al talle unas 10 oacaciones por problemas diferentes y el consercionario santo domingo motors no me da una solucion especifica ya que siempre el vehiculo vuelve con la misma falla desde consumo DE aceite, perdida DE fuerza en el motor deterioro DE luces frontales deterioro del pintura OH esmalte del chasis esta oxidado el vahiculo en varias ocaciones se me apago corriendo pudiento esto hacer que yo y mi familia tengamos un accidente ademas he tenido que estar sin vehiculo por mas DE un mes seguido y la empresa no se hace responsable DE nada tabiem he tenido que pagr gruas para que ellos puedan recibir el vehiculo realmente ya en esta empresa no confio para por que tampoco han sido lo suficiente claro conmigo siempre me dan un cuento,, yo no quiero esa camioneta ya por eso requiero DE su ayuda por que ya la han manipulado demasiado esa camioneta y yo compre un vehiculo 0km para no tener problemas y estoy 100% arrepentido 1ro DE comprar esa marca y 2 do DE haber comprado en esa entidad espero su pronta respuesta aahh ahora mismo la unida lleva prácticamente un mes donde ellos.
