Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Chevrolet Silverado 1500

There was an electrical burning smell in the cabin of the truck and then the radio stopped working. I called the dealership who confirmed that they had issues with previous models and newer models as well but said my 2017 silverado lt was not included in the fix. I took it in and asked them to see if there were any error codes and I was told no error codes everything was clear. There were no warnings no lights nothing just the burning smell. I spoke with another gentleman who has a 2018 silverado lt and said his radio goes on and off and the screen is unresponsive. Yes the vehicle is available upon inspection. My truck could have possibly caught fire due to this especially with the electrical burning smell. This all happened while the truck was off in my driveway.

Radio cuts out, no sound. Can't even use hands free calling because the sound doesn't work. Driver will try to get sound back while driving, taking eyes of the road to fiddle with radio. No recalls at the moment for this issue. Several blogs online that people are experiencing this issue. Has not been inspected as the issue is intermediate, cannot reproduce at a certain time. When driving the radio goes full volume, then after about 15sec ( and spilling your coffee all over the place) it turns down then the radio screen says restarting. Now 2 issues this is going to blow all of my speakers and no one will warranty it ( cause its not my fault it goes full on) and the other issue is . . . I'm driving at 5am and this thing goes full blast and when your drinking your coffee or anything and this sudden jolted impact of noise hits ya scared the crap out of you. . . This needs to be fixed. . . It happens like once a month. . Very random. . . But it happens after the truck has sat for a work shift or in the morning but not always in that scenario.

I am having an issue with radio not playing, it may at beginning of trip or not. It does not make a difference if you turn off and turn back on. It will only start audio when it wants to. During the time period of no audio - the blue tooth does not work either. I can hear people but they cannot hear me. I have had this at the dealer and have been told there is no fix for this. This is a safety issue. On star would not be able to hear me , or I cannot make a call if needed in an emergency. This is very serious, I have asked for a vehicle replacement. I have been in contact with general motors with no resolution at this point. This truck is new and signed papers December 22nd.

During low speed turning the vehicle loses power steering, the ac powers off and on, the stablitrac warning blinks on and off and the radio cycles on and off. This is a known recall for 2014 chevy silverados however gm says it was repaired before I bout my truck 3 years ago and wont cover it to be repaired again this has happened multiple times in the last 2 weeks and is increasing in frequency.

Went to turn into parking stall and everything shut off and the doors locked. Radio, lights, engine everything turned off. Next day turned into a drive thru and it flickered and came up with service stabli trak. I talked with a place that could hook up my truck to see if anything was wrong. They couldnt find anything. They said they drove the truck around and nothing happened. I left and it shut completely down once and flickered twice. Im hoping this is covered under warranty. Im at 43000 miles. Help!.

Radio will flash bright lights on the dash and the radio and will change station and setting on truck when moving down the road and when parked will connect to people phone by it's self next to me.

Driving freeway speed lost throttle/acceleration control and power, gages went out of control dropping to zero coming back up and then dropping again, radio shut off and clock reset. Locks were locking and unlocking on their own then truck shut off. Had to coast to side of freeway. No hazards lights would work no blinker. Once parked on side of freeway turned off ignition and truck would not start no power no nothing. Had to disconnect battery then connect again before it would start back up. Was told engine was rebuilt by car dealership I bought it from carfax doesnt show that but does show a possible odometer roll back and a new airbag recall was issued. I just got carfax report today havnt had the truck for even a year.

Upon turning the vehicle on there were no alerts like seat belt warnings, door open, hands free calling, onstar. Also when shutting vehicle off no alarm to indicate keys are in the ignition. Cannot hear if blinker is on. Nothing comes through the radio. This happens on an intermittent basis. Approximately every several months. Sometimes it will start the sheets if I shut the vehicle off then start it back up. Today it didn't do that. At this time my truck has approximately 80,000 miles. Also on occasion the service electric breaks have indicated an issue as well.

The radio fail to provide audio warning when the key has been left in the ignition and the door is open-door when the driver does not fasten their seat belt ,driver is at greater risk of injury in a crash. Driver can't hear when the turn signal and radio when dead .

Radio quit working and truck would not start took it to dealership they ordered new radio and then later installed it still dident work ordered module for it told them truck was shorting out and would not start and asked them if I should leave it on battery charger over night so it would start in morning they said yes keep doing that until part came in it did and they fixed it a month ago was at mall truck uould not start tried it again still nothing took key out waited couple minutes and it started then seatbelt stuck in door and went through door panel at home depot took it to dealership they said it was a safety issue an could fix the seat belt but not the door because I put black silicone on door to cover hole and now the headliner where you put your sunglasses is falling down worried I bought a lemon but not sure because this is my first new truck and it seems like there's a delay when you let of the gas and it stops giving the engine gas.

All sound stopped on my truck. Radio, turn signal feedback, etc. It was working at end of day but did not work the following morning. I searched and found recall #14315 but your web site says there are no recalls for my vehicle. It has exact same symptoms as described by that recall. I googled symptom and found where someone had disconnected battery for awhile and that fixed it. Did for me too but feel the fix in recall 14315 should be applied to my truck as well.

The mylink and radio keeps going out eean after being replaced. The dashboard funcions act erratically with blinking and then resets the statistics. When the horn is konked the mylink and radio go dead. The dangerous part id the dash functions acting erratically. Hope it does not stall on my on the highway infront of a semit truck or something.

When putting the vehicle into reverse for the purpose of backing up, the radio screen illuminates to a blinding level of brightness when the rear camera view is displayed. This is especially noticeable at night and impairs my ability to see out of my windows. There is no adjustment within the radio settings to fix this issue, and the rotating dial to the left of the exterior lighting knob will do nothing to dim the screen when in reverse. During normal operation (not in reverse), the screen is able to dim with the rotating dial whether parked or driving. I believe this is a software issue that if not resolved, could result in detrimental impacts to driving safety, especially at night. If Chevrolet/gm could implement an update that would allow a software update to put a "soft" button into the settings menu, I feel that overall visibility would be improved greatly and temporary night blindness would be a thing of the past. My vehicle is not the only type of gm vehicle affected with this issue.

Radio volume and turn signal sound stopped even radio on. When turned completely off, phone symbol started flashing on radio screen and stayed on. Security alerts for seat belt, door open and key in ignition also not working. Has progressively gotten worse. Vehicle was stationary when first started and problem as continued while driving. When turned off the radio display will not go off even though turned off. Dealership has no clue what's wrong. Saw online where 2014 silverado recalled for base radio problems that are similar to this problem (14v301000).

Vehicle operator has radio shut off. When vehicle is used again the radio comes on unwanted shortly after start. If vehicle has started moving this puts the operator in a distracted driving situation. This happens every other startup. ( if starts are more than a few minuets apart. ).

Electrical fire: my vehicle was having electrical issues. My radio would randomly change, turn on and off. The parking sensors would randomly go off even while driving forward, down the highway! I had a service appointment scheduled. However, prior to the appointment my vehicle burned up. The cause was found to be a control/computer board in the dash. The vehicle was parked at the time of the fire, it had been about 1 hour since driven last. I have several pictures, fire investigation report and insurance inspection report.

After driving for several hr. In rain wiper moter stop when start out trans slips and grabs so hard its like rear end is going out it like being hit it so hard several times I thought I was hit the time on radio wont stay on they tried to fix it several times but could not finely they said it was normal for that radio. Took it to Chevrolet several times could not find any thing wrong.

Chimes--any warning chimes-- can not be heard at all,speakers do not work,no warning chimes can be heard at all. Keys left in the ignition,turn signals on ,lights left on,seat belt warning,door open,nothing--then,depending on the weather,hot and dry,they may work,the radio may play,winter time--nothing---summer time,sporadic but for the most part--nothing. . Two years now. Don't matter if going or sitting still,any where,just nothing.

The front radio speakers do not work most of the time. Because of this the warning chimes cannot be heard.

Radio, the radio in my truck broke within 12,000 miles and had it replaced. I now have 36,000 miles on my truck and the radio is broke again with the same problem. The problem is the cd gets stuck in the slot and won't eject out. I have yet to get my cd out.
