The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, there was a clunking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that on other occasions, while driving 65 mph and above, the vehicle drove over a bump in the road, and the rear of the vehicle lost control and drifted into another lane. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the leaf spring pads needed to be replaced, and the rust protection was the cause of the leaf spring bushings cracking and separating. The vehicle was not repaired yet. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to cover a portion of the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
