I have been dealing with transmission issues since I bought the vehicle. There is dirt and sand inside my brake lights, rust under the seats, dirt and rust under the dash, brake calipers are horribly rusted and painted to be covered up by the selling dealership, wiring issues continue to arise and repaired by my mechanic. Trailer brake system is now failing. Steering is having issues now, either bad tie rods or bad cv joints. I have had complete loss of electronic power steering in the past. I suspect this vehicle was in a flood and the dealership covered it up. I have been dealing with this since January of 2019, and I have text records starting April 7th 2019. The vehicle was purchased from a family member's dealership and I bought an extended warranty. They have been less than helpful. Seeking legal help is my last resort.

The steering binds up especially at low speeds, and at times an audible clunk can be heard when turning left. It has been determined that the steering rack & pinion unit failed where the passenger side inner tie rod connects to the gear.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving at a low speed and making a turn, a popping noise emitted from the steering column. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the tie rod needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer issued a recall for certain other model vehicles per NHTSA campaign number: 14v246000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.
Power steering problems. Locks up when turning right or left and grinding sounds. Dealership has us replace a part in steering column problem never stopped. Tie rod causing the gear box to go out.
I have a 2002 chevy Silverado 1500 truck, and had a new set of tires (oem size), a new napa hub bearing assembly and a new napa inner tie rod. This work was professionally installed by a certified ase mechanic at a local repair shop on July 3, 2013. The tie rod failed on July 29, 2013. The hub bearing and the inner tie rod were replaced due to normal wear. Thankfully - this happened while I was backing out of my driveway and not last weekend doing 70 mph on the highway with my family in my truck. Failure of this part on the highway could have cost me my life, my family's lives and the lives of everyone else in my unintended path. Vehicle was "repaired" by the local shop in the driveway and they showed up with a replacement napa inner tie rod. I see on the box that this part is manufactured in china. I did not want that part on my vehicle and told them they could install it for a one-time trip to the shop but then I want it changed to another brand. They obliged and found another manufacturer. The napa part is es3478 - inner tie rod.

The front end intermittently begins to "shimmy" at about 50mph. I have replaced tires, inner and outer tie rods, and brakes calipers but the problems have not resolved. The vehicle has always had problems with a "clunking" from the steering column. Several owners report the same problem.

Vehicle was struck by a motorcycle traveling around 50mph in the drivers side front tire. This is a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The motorcycle was only a 50cc model small motorcycle. This resulted in the spindle breaking in two at the point just behind where the tie rod end connects resulting in a loss of steering on that wheel. Luckily the silverado was only traveling approximately 25 mph at the time of the accident and was safely stopped in a short distance. This is a heavy duty part and should not have broken. The tie rod should have broken first.

Steering problems with 2005 Chevrolet c1500 truck, tie rods worn out at 20k intermediate steering shaft wore out as well dealer unable to correct safety issues under warranty.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Soon after the vehicle was purchased on August 8, 2006, the steering wheel and the vehicle itself began to bounce and shake. When turning the wheel in either direction, the steering wheel feels as if it will detach. The more the vehicle is driven, the worse the failure becomes. On September 16, 2006, the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer was unable to find any failure but stated that it was the characteristic of the vehicle. On June 6, 2006, while making a left turn, the steering wheel operated on its own and caused the vehicle to crash into a pole. The speed at the time of the crash was 5 mph. The contact noticed that the tie rod in the front had detached. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact searched the internet for further research and discovered that the failure is a safety issue that needs some attention. A police report was filed. The engine size and powertrain were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 8,143.

After purchasing a 2004 Chevrolet silverado z71 in November 2004, my 1st complaints were in November 2004 for a rear clunking. After several trips to the dealer the driveshaft was replaced, along with recalled tailgate support cables, rear bumper (rust), spare tire guide retainer, license plate lamp lens, and transfer covers, and, except for my time, all were covered under warranty. In February 2005 I complained of a grinding noise in 4 wd. 4wd transfer case fluid was drained & refilled. In June 2005 I complained that the 4wd switch went into neutral; 4wd software was replaced. In August 2005 I complained of clicking in steering wheel, burned out light bulb, and clunk in driveline; steering shaft was lubricated, bulb was replaced, and driveline splenes lubricated. Driveline splenes again lubricated in September 2005. Transfer case fluid changed. Complained that 4wd high inoperable when I couldn't pull my boat out of a lake, but dealer found no problem. In January 2006, both outside heated mirror glass assemblies and left side heated mirror assembly were replaced; the ignition lock cylinder was lubricated due to key getting stuck; 4wd transfer case fluid drained & refilled; transmission column shifter assembly replaced. In may 2006, flasher module assembly was replaced due to flashers going on when signaling; tow haul mode switch assembly was replaced due to indicator staying on. Purchased a 24-month warranty. In October 2006, the blower motor resistor assembly was replaced as fan only worked on setting 5 (I was charged $40. 26 for a resistor). Remotes were programmed for lights to flash with keyless. In March 2008, left front hub assembly was replaced due to a grinding noise; due to clunking noise, both inner tie rods were replaced; steering wheel noise was still there. In April 2008, heater control head assembly replaced. The steering wheel still clunks and vibrates when turning. I feel it is a serious safety issue.
