The truck I purchased has a max towing package that is supposed to safely tow 10,600# in crew cab configuration. I have a 28' pace daytona trailer that weighs under 8,000# as I tow it. At approximately 50 mph, the truck has a very severe sway issue. It is frightening to drive as the trailer starts shifting the rear of the truck back and forth. I have not had an accident with the truck as yet, but I feel the situation is very dangerous. I have contacted Chevrolet customer service in michigan to ask for assistance with this issue. They say they have no information that can help solve my problem. I was instructed to bring the truck and trailer to lone star Chevrolet in houston where I purchased the truck. Several visits there and talking to several service people has yielded no help. I was told that the truck can't pull a trailer of that physical size. Oddly enough, the 2012 model truck advertises a new sway control feature. This 2013 brochure ever depicts a scene of the trailer swaying as mine does, with a box type trailer in the add. Since Chevrolet claims it has no history of this being an issue, I felt that I should notify someone of this unsafe situation with this particular vehicle. Thanks for allowing me to share my problem with someone who might research this issue and try to prevent a serious accident.

Design defect - extended cab - low to high volume high pitch wind howl when driving into a head wind depending on intensity & direction of wind. Loud enough that an onstar operator could hear it & it could be recorded on the dealer"s general managers voice mail. Makes conversation difficult. Dealer doesn't have a clue as to what to do to find & correct it. A second design blunder was replacing the charcoal gray interior in previous years with the ebony interior. It is impossible to keep clean & attracts lint & dirt like a magnet. The gray interior was the perfect color combination with the tweed pattern seat inserts. A third blunder is the raising the truck body 3 inches higher off the ground plus adding 2 inches to the depth of the bed making the bed rail 5 inches higher off the ground. The combination makes it very difficult to access objects in the bed from the sides of the truck. To make the truck usable for my work I am having to have it lowered 2 inches in front & 3 in the rear.

I bought a 2006 silverado ext cab lt3 at the end of February 2006. In March headliner came down. Replaced two weeks later. Six weeks later headliner came down again the second time. Replaced headliner one week later. Two days after replacing headliner, it came down the third time. I contacted area rep to have him research the headliner issue (which I already went to two other dealerships and they are selling these trucks with the defected headliners and knowingly selling them). I waited a full month then went for another replacement which took two weeks to come in. One week later headliner coming down again the 4th time. Area rep said he put in a TSB to show it is a defect that the headliners are cut too short. I checked on NHTSA and no TSB's are listed about a silverado headliner. People haven't noticed this because it isn't obvious. You have to look at the top of your open doors where the headliner meets the rubber gasket and you will see the cut of the fabric of the headline and the molded headliner piece with it. I've called area rep and it's been 3 days and no return call. I was told it has nothing to do with the factory sunroof either. If the factory knows the headliner's are defective why do they keep sending the ones that are defective instead of waiting till the right ones come out?.
