The defrost does not work well. It only seems to clear about a 2ft section of the middle of the window. Both passenger and driver sides of the windshield remain fogged up so you cannot see to the left or right side of the vehicle and could cause an accident.

I have a 2008 Chevrolet silverado with very low mileage. The issue is a structurally defective windshield. The windshield started cracking under the driver side molding and has progressed towards the center of the windshield. I know for a fact that nothing hit the windshield and the fact that the crack started when there was no one around else on the road. I went to local dealership to have it reviewed. The service manager simply glanced at the windshield and concluded that something hit the windshield when it fact there is nothing to substantiate that statement. . He went on to sell me the line that if there was a defect in the materials that the crack would have showed up before 7,500 miles. As a structural engineer I know that this is factually incorrect statement and nothing more then an excuse to do nothing.

2007 silverado new body style. Upon taking delivery from the dealer I noticed a massive distortion in the windshield. Dealer has ordered a new one to replace it. Hopefully it's just an isolated problem.

Windshield developed a crack 3 feet long when I shut the door after refilling the gas tank. The defroster was running prior to stopping at the service station. There no prior damage to the windshield, and I saw the crack appear after I got in my truck and shut the door.
