Started to apply brakes to stop for red light. All of the sudden brake pedal went to the floor which caused me not to be able to stop for the red signal. I ran thru the intersection striking another vechicle. That car was totaled and our truck had 7k in damage. Their were minor injuries to the gentleman I struck and I received two tears in my left rotator cuff which will require a surgical repair. Seatbelt did not engage nor did the air bags deploy. I assume the seatbelt didn't work due to the brake failure.
Vehicle brake pedal failed to stop vehicle. Had to apply emergency brakes to stop vehicle. Vehicle was in motion going about 30 mph. Vehicle was on a state hwy. Vehicle was going straight.

I have had a complete brake job because all of the lines rusted out and failed as I was driving. Fortunately, I was able to use the emergency brake to stop safely. I spent rough. Y $3,000 to get this repaired. Now the fuel lines, fuel cooler and everything attached has rusted out to the point that it is going to be an additiona $2,500 to repair this. Also, the complete under carriage and rear end has rusted to the point that I am expecting it to fail at any time. This is not only a dangerous situation, but is extremely costly to the consumer, me. When the brakes failed, I was driving on a street approaching a busy intersection. With no warning at all, the pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes. The repair facility mechanic said he has never seen a system so bad. I keep the vehicle in a garage and have washed the under carriage in the winter to keep road salt from accumulating.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. While reversing the vehicle, the brakes malfunctioned. The contact had to stand on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The manufacturer mailed a letter stating that there was a brake vacuum pump failure with the vehicle's exact year, make, and model. The contact spoke with henderson Chevrolet (240 n gibson rd, henderson, nv 89014, (702) 208-9999) and the manufacturer and was informed that the vehicle exceeded the 72,000 mile limit to receive assistance. The contact stated that the failure occurred ever since the vehicle was purchased brand new. The failure mileage was 100.

Brake failure resulting in accident due to rusted steel line and loose (stretched) parking brake cable. Residential driving under 25 miles an hour I approached a stop light with my family in the car. Applied pressure to brake with about 100 feet from light. Brake pedal dropped to the floor. Immediately I applied parking brake. Vehicle failed to respond to both actions. The truck rolled through the stop light causing an accident. Main line feeding rear brakes abruptly failed causing personal and property damages. After having the brakes serviced and fixed, and thinking that the truck was safe, the power steering pump failed while driving on the highway at approximately 65 mph. Both steering and braking were non responsive. Had I have been driving on a residential road this could have caused a serious accident. However, the highway gave me ample time to slow down and get my family to the shoulder of the road. The truck was towed and diagnosed. A new power steering pump was put in. I am scared to drive the truck with my family in it. I do not know what is going to brake next.
I was driving at normal speed and was traveling down a back road with a car dolly on back when I came up over the hill there were cars stopped and the other lane was comming towards traffic I tried at the top of a very steep hill to apply my brakes and they failed causing me to hit 6 cars and one motorcycle and lucky no one got killed so now I have a damaged truck because of engineers poor design.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. While the vehicle was being serviced for routine maintenance, the mechanic noticed that the entire front end of the vehicle was defective. The mechanic replaced the steering box, pitman arm, outer tie rod on both ends and the upper ball joint. The contact also stated that the brakes were leaking. The brake leak failure had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
While driving the brakes completely failed with no warning. The pedal went to the floor and just kept going into the rear of the car in front of me. I was traveling about 25mph the front bumper has to replaced. No air bag deployment.
Vehicle under carriage looks more like a 30 year old vehicle. Brakes lines have failed causing extended stopping distance or swerving off road to avoid collision. Oil cooler lined ruptured and leaked oil on exhaust manifold, a potential fire hazard, especially when all the exhaust manifolds rotted as well so hot exhaust gases are not directed out the exhaust, also a concern for poisoning occupants with toxic exhaust gases . Power steering fittings rotted causing loss of steering. Gm is useless, when I contacted them they said it is the environment. I asked them why a Toyota and Acura, both 8 years older showed no such failures or even signs of rust on critical components. Gm responded that they couldn't answer that question. Hmmm, I wonder why. In 39 years of driving, it is the most I ever paid for a vehicle, 48,000 dollars, and the manufacturer refuses any assistance. That's the thanks for bailing them out. It has also had wires to blower motor burn, rear brake rotors rotted away at 22,000 miles, ground wires under hood have rotted and fallen of. . . More potential hazards, a/c compressor seized a came apart. I could go on and on. There needs to be a serious investigation into gm and. The poor quality and lack of concern for the safety of the public. It is by far the worst vehicle I have owned, ever.

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while hauling a trailer at 30 mph, the brakes failed as they were depressed. The stopping distance increased and the contact was able to coast to a stop before all of the brake fluid spilled out. The contact did not take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection or repair. The VIN was unknown. The failure and the current mileages were 120,000.
Everything related to my truck's brakes seemed to be working fine. I had just driven the truck ~100 highway miles without incident. After reaching my destination, I backed my truck up and hitched my boat trailer to it. The truck brakes worked fine as I maneuvered the truck to align it with the trailer. There was no indication of any imminent failure - nothing on the dash warning lights and the brake pedal had a normal feel to it. As I began to pull away with my boat in tow and prepared to turn, I depressed the brake pedal and it went completely to the floor. The brakes completely failed - no warning light and absolutely 100% loss of braking power. I quickly placed the truck in neutral and the drag of the trailer across the lawn slowed the truck enough that I was able to put the transmission into park. After opening the hood, I noticed the brake fluid was low. I added 12 ounces of the appropriate brake fluid, restarted the truck, and the brake pedal still went to the floor. My wife, who was standing alongside the truck (she was behind it as I backed up - thank god the brakes didn't fail at that point), noticed a stream of brake fluid coming from under the truck and near the firewall. I called aaa and had my truck towed to a local aaa approved service center. The technician stated that my brakes lines were leaking, severely corroded throughout, and needed to be replaced. The truck is still in the shop. I'm saving the bill and all of the related parts. Fortunately I was only inconvenienced - not hurt.
While pulling out of parking lot of inspection station on to side street, on slight hill, I depressed my break pedal and it went all the way to the floor. The truck slowly stopped even though I was only doing approximatly 5 mph. When I got out and looked under the truck I saw brake fluid coming from under the driver side of the truck. The inspector had told me that the lines looked to be corroded and I would need to get them replaced in a few years. Once the brake failure occured he came and looked again and was shocked that it was an instant breaking.
Brakes failed to respond and almost went over a restraining wall two times. On other occassions when braking, the brakes would release and I would have to slowly reapply breaks to slow down or push the brake pedal all the way to the floor. This could be extremly dangerous if I was towing my horse trailer. Have not been able to find any recalls about this problem and I am the original owner.

Service trailer brake system message came on. Next day chevy found "circuits rubbing on bracket. . . Repaired, covered harness with conduit. . Repositioned away from e-brake. . . " dealer found chevy doc#2491825 that warns the dealership of "wiring chaff concern ear the e-brake pedal" but no notice was sent to owners. Truck manual on page 3-37 says to take it to a dealer if the message remains on after the ignition is cycled on and off. Message did not return, but took in anyway. Chevy dealer said computer records show this condition was detected a number of times but we received only one single message on the digital information center. A brake system failure while RV or commercial towing downhill or on wet roads could lead to catastrophic results-owners should be notified and affected vehicles inspected.
Sudden brake failure on 2001 chevy 2500 pickup truck with 70k miles - had dealer replace rusted lines over fuel tank two months ago, checked all brake systems and did not find any problems. Have driven vehicle about 250 miles since repaired. Today the brake pedal went all the way to the floor when stopping at a 4-way stop downtown. Almost collided with another vehicle but was able to avoid the vehicle and pedestrians on side walk. Checked brake fluid level and it is normal level. Will have vehicle towed back to dealer for repairs. No obvious leaks or damage to brake systems.

I purchased a brand new 1996 Chevrolet silverado3/4 ton pickup from then camp Chevrolet in spokane wa. And started experiencing brake failure in this vehicle almost immediately among many other problems. And finally had to get in touch with the attorney generals office and get an attorney to successfully turn it in on the lemon law. This problem with the brake system has been going on for longer then 1999. This is all documented information. All I ever got from this company was we cannot duplicate customers complaint . Just thought I would let you know if you felt like following up on it . I would step on the brake and the thing would seem to take to long to stop . One time I was driving down a street in spokane and someone suddenly stop ahead of me so I had to put on the brakes and at first it didn't slow so I pressed harder on the brakes and harder and harder when it finally came to a stop I was know more then two or three inches from hitting this vehicle and the brake pedal was completely to the floor with no more pedal left.
